I feel very fortunate to have been referred to Tony and Bay Plumbing when I moved to Berkeley a few years ago. I've needed to call on Bay Plumbing several times now and each time Tony has been easy to reach by phone and text and was quick and punctual. Tony has proved very knowledgeable and willing and able to answer all my questions.

Twice Tony found affordable fixes to problems I was expecting would call for expensive replacements of a toilet and sink.

Recently, when I learned rats were entering my home through a broken sewer line, Tony came on short notice early on a Saturday morning to help us with the tricky detective work of finding exactly where the broken pipe was and then finding just the right part to seal it up.

Once again Tony's was knowledgeable and the charges for this work felt more than fair to me. Tony is great to work with and I feel fortunate to have found him and Bay Plumbing.

I don't usually post reviews, but I had to for Bay Plumbing. About 1.5 months ago, I had a sewer main backup. When I made an appointment with Tony, I had no idea how bad it was. It turned out that my basement toilet had sewage flooding out of it due to the backed-up main. Not only did Tony and his colleague assess the extent of the back-up immediately, he and his staff took the entire afternoon to carefully examine and clear the drains throughout the property to understand how these old pipes (house was built in the 20's) were connected.
They also efficiently cleaned out the disgusting toilet, removed and disposed of it, and then cleaned up the bathroom, and put in a new toilet. They even came back the next day with a specialist to visually inspect the inside of the sewer main with a camera to determine whether the pipe was damaged, in order to understand whether damage caused the back-up.
Tony and his staff were patient, considerate, knowledgeable, experienced, thorough and very professional. Although they spent many hours over a 2-day period to do all of this work, they charged a very reasonable price for all of the work.
Tony even stayed behind after hours of grueling work to patiently answer all of my landlady's questions about replacing the sewer lateral and the runoff pipes to meet specs. I HIGHLY recommend Tony and his group for any of your plumbing needs!

Tony was prompt, professional, and thorough, communicating quickly about when he discovered new plumbing issues while identifying potential leak sources from our bathroom and replacing our toilet. His prices were fair (I called around a few plumbers and looked online, and his prices seemed reasonable for the scope of work). I recently called Bay Plumbing to get a second quote on a gas pipe repair when another company's estimate seemed very high. The quote was much more in line with my budget so I had Tony do the work. The team was on-time, completed the work as promised and cleaned up after (always appreciated). I subsequently hired Tony to do some work in the kitchen and laundry room to move appliance hook-ups and install a new disposal. Throughout the projects, the team has been great. Tony explains the work in detail before beginning to set a proper expectation for timing and the final outcome. There have been no hidden fees and we even worked to adjust a portion of the project at no extra cost. I needed a plumber to address some issues that popped up on a building inspection and it turned out that Tony is right around the corner from us. So glad I called him!

We needed to remount our water heater, replace an ancient kitchen faucet, and diagnose a water leak that was occurring in our shower/bath. Tony was able to pop over the next evening and provide a detailed and written estimate. He was very thorough looking things over and honest about what needed to be done, and what could be put off until another day.

Both Tony and his crew were very professional and respectful, punctual, and kept us informed of any difficulties as they went along. His prices are very fair and he was happy to take on a smaller job, unlike others we have talked to in the past. Tony is now our go-to guy for any/all plumbing needs!

Called Tony this morning. Best decision ever! This guy is amazing. He showed up exactly when he said he would, diagnosed two problems extremely quickly, gave me a very reasonable estimate, and then fixed both problems on the spot! He is a true professional. Not only that but he's a super nice and ethical person.
