I normally don't post negative reviews because I try to assume that it was just a bad day (or few days) for the person I interacted with. But listening to my neighbor describe the same awful, disrespectful behavior and shoddy, sloppy work, I had to make an exception. Plumbing deals with dirty stuff, but there are cheap and easy ways to minimize mess. Sal doesn't do any of them. He doesn't even bring his own bucket! Twice he used my dish bin, without asking, to catch p-trap water.

If it's not an absolute emergency and no other plumber is responding, then avoid Bay Line at all costs! You'd better not pay until they prove they've finaled the permits. Otherwise you can bet they won't even try to get the work permitted/inspected and you'll have plumbing problems again.

Sal is extremely rude, leaves huge messes behind, doesn't get the required permits (let alone pass final inspection), sends subcontractors over late in the evening and without any notice, and cuts tons of corners.

Immediately after his work in my place, I had to add missing silicone caulking, do a helluva lot of cleaning, and fix a cabinet door he used to stand up. Later on, I've had to replace the sink stopper assembly because Sal didn't install the washer around the pivot rod, so it was constantly musty. I also had to replace a cartridge in the new shower fixture he installed, because it was constantly leaking.

Everything all good, took a bit of the afternoon for his worker Armando to do all the work, but it is great now. I guess the pipes we had were original (1978)?, all galvanized?, moldy, stuck. So now all new, updated and up to code. Thanks Sal!

Great service and efficient! Sal came to our family home over the weekend and was able to install a new Delta faucet quickly and With no mess. We had other plumbers tell us they would have to break the backsplash tile in order to replace the 20 year old faucet. Sal was able to install new faucet with no mess in less than an hour from start to finish. No need to break the backsplash tile. Sal was pleasant, and got to work right away. We recommend using Sal and his company again.

Sal, you're a king among men! I'm a single woman with no real knowledge of these things. Had a hot water heater emergency, had no idea what to do. I found Sal on Angie's list and Wow what a find! He bailed me out of a very messy situation and immediately! Not only did he take my calls after hours (no extra charge) but he handled my problem when I was out of town. Thank you Sal...so glad I found you!

-Great work
-Excellent customer service
-Honest fair pricing
-Good resource for other work I needed
-And an all around great guy with an old fashion honest work ethic

Sal Serio, the business owner, did a fantastic job for us. We had a problem with the thermostatic valve in our shower - it was stuck on HOT. We obtained a new cartridge at no charge from the mfr (Rohl), but needed a plumber to install it. Enter Sal. He was very accommodating to come over at a convenient time for us and kept us posted on his ETA when stuck in traffic. He removed the old, encrusted part (hard water deposits) and installed the new cartridge. A minor modification that he suggested has this valve working better than ever. The price Sal quoted before doing the work was also his final price and he quickly snaked out the slow moving sink drain which was icing on the cake. As far as his price, it was better than the 1st quote we got.

Thank you Sal! Needless to say we would definitely contact Sal / Bay Line Plumbing again and refer him to friends. Good luck to all with your plumbing problems!

The San Jose Water Board sent my 89 year old mother (who is in hospice care) a certified letter stating they were scheduling a meter replacement at her home (since 1959) in late November and they didn't care for the state of her (original galvanized) pipes and that she'd better get them repaired (that means a full re-pipe from the street to the house folks) by the time of the meter replacement because if those old pipes don't withstand their meter replacement work, she will be without water for perhaps days until she can locate and employ a plumber to repair the problem. We decided to do the forced repipe ASAP because of her precarious health situation. Enter Sal Serio. He had 5 men working here for two days, supervised by him, and they did a fantastic job. Professional, efficient and hard working as hell. I would certainly recommend Bay Line Plumbing on jobs of this magnitude. Not sure he should be bothered with hair ball probs. :)

Sal removed a toilet that had leaked (not properly sealed by previous plumber) and he installed a new toilet. He also removed and resealed two other toilets in our home because we figured they had not been sealed properly either. He was recommended to us by the sheetrock repairman who repaired the downstairs' ceiling where the toilet had leaked. We trusted the recommendation because we liked his work. Since then, Sal has returned to our home to install a kitchen faucet. His prices are fair and I appreciate that he is an honest family man whom I feel comfortable allowing into our home.

Sal, who at first seemed to give us a great deal on repiping our house in cooper, and a few other plumbing needs didn't quite meet my expectations. After the estimate was completed he continued to nickel and dime us for everything. He would tell me that wasn't part of the estimate so he would have to charge me more. I know that can happen, but my husband still had to do part of his work as well. He even damaged our heating ducts, so he could rerun the pipes. They were in his way, so instead of working around them he just moved them. Of course we didn't know he did that until it was time to run the heat. To our surprise the house wasn't warming up, but we were heating the under side of it. More money to fix the plumber's mistakes. After Bay Line Plumbing was pretty much done with the work, it was difficult to get Sal to come back and finish. There was a lot of phone tag, and he even told me that his other clients were more important so I had to wait for him to finish up. I had to tell him that he was being unprofessional, and that I was a paying client as well. Let me tell you, please do not use this company because we are still having problems with our brand new plumbing. We had to call 3 plumbers to our house already to fix his mess.

So my landlord uses Sal all the time and seems to like him. I can't tell you the cost except that my landlord says he's expensive.

Did he get the job done...yes

Any other positives....no

Last week I finally decide to snake my slow moving drain. After pulling out some hairballs, it only got worse. Sal pulled up the very next day and got no progress at all with his snake. He told us the clog was either between ours and the neighbors or in the wall below. The bathroom is a bit smudgy now.

The next day he came back to use sulfuric acid (industrial strength drain cleaner). When he came in he was all pissed off because we had used the shower that morning and there was still water. Never had he told us not to use the shower. So he asks ME to bail the water out with a cup. What? I don't know if he ever bailed it out or not. When he left, my tub was full of brown water and chemicals. The bathroom is really smudgy now. The house reeked of rotten eggs. I've heard from other plumbers that they will never resort to using chemicals.

He told me to call him that night. Which I did. He didn't answer. I left a message.

He called me the next day and left a message for me saying ""Hey I'm waiting to hear from you"" *facepalm*

I called back and left yet another message. Then me landlord calls me to find out why I haven't contacted him yet. *double facepalm*

I call him again and he tells me that he will have to come replace the pipes, but he can't do it tomorrow, it will have to be the next day. Longer? Really?

So now it's been three days. We haven't showered, our tub is still full, and our house stinks. He shows up an hour late and gets started. Upstairs downstairs, upstairs, downstairs. Lots of noise. They won't close the door. In, out...muddy footprints. By now the bathroom is filthy. 6 hours later he comes up finally to check it out. And I ask him if he will please wipe down the chemicals from the tub. He just kinda stares and me and says ""Um...I'm a plumber"" Yeeess. An you made a huge mess in my bathroom.

So he didn't clean or wipe anything down. Maybe I've just had good plumbers, but I have never had one leave a mess.

So yeah. It's a 2
