A preventative maintenance call for 3 HTP / Munchkin Boilers. Great service today by Kent. He arrived at 8:30am (8am-10am window given) and was well prepared to provide the service. Kent listened to my areas of concern and addressed them. He worked efficiently and quickly and provided very compete information on all of his actions. He even called me to the Boiler room so that I could see the work he was performing once the boiler was open for service. Kent was personable, very thorough and professional and wrapped up the services in under 2 hours. This is a very positive outcome and I would highly recommend Bay Hydronic for their excellent services. Reasonable service rates.

I have a house in San Francisco with a combination house hot water and radiant heat system.
My system was originally put in in 1990, and I have tried some other companies for work to it over the years and none of them really seemed to know and understand the complexities of my set up.

Then I found Bay Hydronic, Inc a few years ago and they are amazing. They really know hydronics.

Last week, I called them because I needed to replace the 75 Gallon hot water heater that was approaching 14 years and is the core of the system.
Alex Johnson, one of their main technicians and a guy who knows his stuff, came out for a look.
While we were going to be replacing the hot water heater, I also asked if there was way to make the system more efficient. Alex came up with a plan for a sensor that if the system was calling for both radiant heat and actual hot water, the system would temporarily put the radiant heat on hold and favor the hot water use.
This now allows for me to get more and hotter water with less gas use and therefore less cost.

Every one at Bay Hydronic, including Bill Clinton, the owner of BH for many years, are skilled technically and also are good people. Their pricing reflects the technical skills needed to do this kind of work correctly and I believe the pricing is very fair for their expertise.

If you want a company that knows what they're doing and do it right the first time, give Bay Hydronic a call.

I have a underfloor radiant heating system and a conventional gas water heater and both the boiler and the water heater were more than 15 years old so I decided to go with a combination boiler unit to do both. My system was working so I had time to do research on types of combi units that are available and went out for bids to 6 contractors. Most came out to see the job but a couple gave me a quote without a visit. Bay Hydronics gave me a quote over the phone but I asked them to come out anyway. Bill, the company president, came out and we discussed alternatives. We finally came up with the best solution and he sent me a final quote. Of the 6 contractors his price was in the middle but I liked his solutions and what he offered so I gave him the job. After a couple of weeks he scheduled installation for a couple of days before Christmas (doesn't that you nervous!). Kent, Alex and a helper arrived around 8:15AM. Demo of the old units was straightforward which created the space for the new unit. They had done some pre work at their shop which was a great help. The 3 guys worked really hard until around 6PM with minimal time for lunch and completed the job inside the day. When they left I had a fully working system and it looks really very professional. They made a nice looking job, worked hard and left the site clean. It does not get any better than that. The next morning there was something that did not seem to be right so I called Kent. Alex was at my door within the hour. (the problem was minimal. Dirt from the plumbing work had clogged the screens at one of the faucets)
When I started to consider this project, I had an idea that I could do it myself. I am glad I did not pursue that idea!! This is a complex installation that needs a professional installation which is what Bay Hydronics provided.
I have read other reviews with comments about the price of plumbers. I agree. I do not know why they are so expensive, but remember, I did go out for bids so Bay Hydronics are competitive.
