Bay Area Drainage, Inc
Company Overview
Bay Area Drainage, Inc. specializes in drainage systems for residential and commercial clients throughout Contra Costa, Alameda, and Solano Counties. We also construct retaining walls and install sump pumps, synthetic lawns, and pavestone driveways and walkways. Each drainage system is designed to integrate with the surrounding environment and is meticulously excavated around current structures.
We are recognized for our thorough attention to detail. A site supervisor manages every project, ensuring quality control, and upon completion, we clear away all debris and conduct a thorough clean-up.
Our expertise lies in the installation of French drain systems, which can be linked to downspout systems, sump pumps, and area drains. We use a minimally invasive technique for French drain installation, tunneling below plants to reduce impact on root systems. “French drains help eliminate moisture-related issues,” says our owner Wayne, “including mold, mildew, damaged floors, and environments conducive to termites.”
Our areas of expertise also encompass Under Floor Drains, Downspout Systems, Subdrain Systems, Sump Pumps, Retaining Walls, Pavestone Driveways & Walkways, Synthetic Turf, Pool Demolitions, Concrete Demolitions and re-pour, Irrigation, and Landscaping.
Wayne founded Bay Area Drainage to provide clients with reliable and transparent service. He personally visits each site for estimates and collaborates with you to create the best solutions for your needs. We prioritize customer satisfaction above all else. You can feel confident knowing you are in expert hands.

Disappointed that, like others mention here, Wayne made a quick appearance and grumbled some thoughts as he walked around the property for less than 10 minutes, mentioned we'd receive a proposal in 3 days, then never to hear from BAD again. Michelle was great to talk to on the phone for scheduling and presented the company well, mentioning there would be a $100 fee for the consultation (applicable to the total cost if we went with BAD); however no fee was taken from us over the phone or by Wayne when he arrived.
I'd suggest to those considering BAD for drainage needs that if Wayne seems disinterested while assessing your situation and no $100 consultation fee is taken, that you presume to keep looking elsewhere. We've had a good experience with All Seasons drainage and Paul Carty Construction as alternatives.

Bay Area Drainage put in a larger sump pump and solution for our house, which lies in a ""flood zone"". Recently I needed some service and two of their guys came right out--lead guy was Nester. They got us back up and running and stood by the job, etc. I appreciate Wayne, owner, stepping up and helping us out! (My husband passed away last year, so I ESPECIALLY appreciate Bay Area Drainage helping me figure out the situation...) THANK YOU Wayne and THANK YOU Bay Area Drainage!!!

Our experience echos what many others here have said. Wayne came out, and the minute I walked out the front door he already had an attitude. Asked what he was doing there, and his tone and demeanor were just so OFF AND RUDE. I felt like I did something wrong! I didn't even get a chance to show him the issue, as he was inspecting a sump pump telling us how horrible of a job the contractors did (ok cool, then tell us how much to fix it - YOU ARE THE EXPERT??!!) Then my husband came outside and they started getting into it. He jumped in his car, slammed his door, cursed at us and sped off. The basement is what needed his attention with multiple areas impacted. If he doesn't want work, just be upfront about it -- geez never have I been treated so rudely by someone I am TRYING TO GIVE MY MONEY TOO!!

During the Winter of 2023, you know the never-ending winter, we asked Wayne to come out and take a look at our drainage issue. This was in January and they were already booking up fast. The job actually started at the end of May due to their backlog.
Wayne's quote was extremely competitive and the details in the quote were first rate. We had a sub-drain installed in our garage that led to a new French drain around the back and then terminated at the gutter. A lot of hard, dirty work. The work was started and completed on time.
Carlos and his team did an awesome job. The amount of dirt and debris they pulled from our home was incredible. What astonished me was the care they took for not only our landscape but our home too. With very, very little landscape damage (two bulb plants I think) the landscaping was untouched. They also cleaned up daily. Incredible. They told me what they would do, did what they would do and finished well.
Bay Area Drainage will get all my drainage work moving forward. Thank you!

Wayne and his team, Mara, Paul, Nestor and Nestor's co-worker (don't know his name) responded immediately when I called about water under my house in my crawl space. We have an atomic storm coming and they identified the problem and came back the same day to hook up a temporary drain pipe so I wouldn't flood. I was so panicked and I feel so much better they are on the job. Also, Wayne quoted me a less costly fix rather than a full blown French drain for which I am so grateful. In 2017, they installed a partial French drain that has held up beautifully. Paul even cleaned out the drains and gave me advice on how to maintain them. Thank you!

Dave did our family a solid and came out to review a possible drainage problem under our house. Rather than try to sell me a costly drainage solution, he noted that our house had a plumbing problem, not a drainage problem. Two other drainage contractors pitched me super expensive drainage solutions when in reality, we didn't need them. I appreciate Dave's long experience and honesty!

The guy who showed up to scope the work was dismissive and did a cursory (less than 5 minute) look around. He didn't take measurements or ask any questions. He said I should have done this 10 years ago when I'd previously considered this work. Attempts to follow up and obtain the quote I'd been promised were unsuccessful. Even the receptionist said - I'll call you right back and I'm still waiting for that call (two months later!)

We required an extensive drainage renovation outside our house. The work took over a week , and required replacing old 4inch drains with 6 inch heavy duty PVC. Dave and his crew did a great job, and finished with the yard showing little sign of all the work that was done. We had some call backs on broken sprinklers which were repaired quickly. I would highly recommend Bay Drainage for any drain job you might have. They were very professional, neat, and stood behind there work.

I contacted this company several times both by phone and using the online form on their website, but couldn't manage to get a hold of them. They either have gone out of business or they must have enough work that they don't feel like showing the basic courtesy of responding back.

Completed a project with Bay Area Drainage in February 2019. Throughout the entire process, Mara was very responsive to all my questions. I was told the entire project would take 12 working days. Taking into consideration a couple days were skipped due to weather (rainy season), the project completed on time. Work included temporary removal of a deck and a set of stairs, both of which were replaced well (wouldn't know they were removed if I didn't see it myself). Overall, very happy with the service I received and would recommend them again.
