Bay Area Drainage, Inc
Company Overview
Bay Area Drainage, Inc. specializes in drainage systems for residential and commercial clients throughout Contra Costa, Alameda, and Solano Counties. We also construct retaining walls and install sump pumps, synthetic lawns, and pavestone driveways and walkways. We tailor each drainage system to the landscape, ensuring careful excavation around existing elements.
We are recognized for our thorough attention to detail. A site supervisor manages every project, ensuring quality control, and upon completion, we clear away all debris and conduct a thorough clean-up.
Our expertise lies in the installation of French drain systems, which can be linked to downspout systems, sump pumps, and area drains. We adopt a minimally invasive method for French drain installation by tunneling under plants to minimize disruption to root systems. “French drains address the harmful impacts of moisture,” explains our owner Wayne, “including mold, mildew, compromised flooring, and conditions that support termite infestations.”
Our specialties include, but are not limited to, Under Floor Drains, Downspout Systems, Subdrain Systems, Sump Pumps, Retaining Walls, Pavestone Driveways & Walkways, Synthetic Turf, Pool Demolitions, Concrete Demolitions and re-pour, Irrigation, and Landscaping.
Wayne established Bay Area Drainage to deliver honest and professional service to customers. Wayne personally attends every estimate and works alongside you to design optimal solutions tailored to your requirements. Your satisfaction is our main focus. You can trust that you are in capable hands.

This review is loooooong over due as Bay Area Drainage has done work for me 3 times on 3 different houses.
First job: Very old home required french drain system be installed to divert water which had been intruding under the house causing massive settling problems. Post construction, problem solved. Side note, workers took great care with their work and equipment as to not disturb the existing landscaping (VERY big concern of mine). The Owner, Wane, was prompt, professional and his bid was spot on. Staff was courteous and professional as well.
Second house: A call to Wane, big rain late at night!!!! Water flowing out of the pool touching the house.... Wane come out next day said ""We will drill those patio drain holes a little bigger"". BIG problem, very inexpensive solution!!!!
Third house: Similar problem, patio drain clogged, water nearing the house. Called Wane he sent one of his guys with a camera system to assess......... roots. Again a big problem and thanks to Wane, a small fix (snake).
Three homes, three 5 star reviews.
Thanks Wane.

We had a french drain installed all the way around our new house (big job).
Wayne came to quote and seemed somewhat disinterested, but also seemed to know what he was doing. He was very dismissive (I think correctly) about previous drainage efforts at the property, and promised us the real thing.
The guys who came to do the job knew exactly what they were doing, impressively operating heavy machinery immediately next to our windows without incident. All in 100+ degrees.
At the end, we're all set and just waiting for rainfall to make sure it all works. :)
If there was one thing they could improve, it'd be to do a final tidyup at the end. They were pretty good about everything, but I had to go around and pick up a few used sharps (razor blades, saw blades), odd bits of trash, and a few bits of leftover rubble.
Great team, would book again.
UPDATE:
Dropping back to 3 stars. The electrical work on the sump pump keeps tripping the GFCI outlet. I've called them out a few times and they've not done anything. Advice online suggests that a GFCI outlet isn't appropriate, so now I need to hire an electrician.

I had them install a new drainage line from a French Drain along the side of my house down my driveway. This involved cutting some concrete, laying down the new pipe with a filtered inlet and a drainage grate. I thought they did a very good job for a fair price and were easy and professional to work with.

I have had Bay Area Drainage work on three big jobs for my and I am very happy with the work. Ten plus years ago they did a french drain around a investment property and it still is working great. This last year they put a french drain and leach field at my primary residents, great job! Know they are putting in a paver driveway for me.
Great group of guys!

Great job. The workers were outstanding, polite, clean, and the job first class. They built a long French drain(approx 100 ft). We are very happy with he work.

Not once, not twice, but 3 times committed to coming out to give me an estimate and just plain didn't show up AND I had to call them to tell them. No follow up at all. Not sure why I was dumb enough to try 3x, but don't make the same mistake I made. They did work on a former house of mine and did a good enough job...but I think they are just too busy to care about customer service for a home owner and are more focused on big jobs.
It will come back an bite them when El Nino isn't making business quite so good for them and they figure out that us small home owners have left them for more customer service focused providerrs.

Excellent landscaping project performed by Bay Area Drainage. They removed front lawn and ivy areas, replacing with drought resistant plants and drip system. Paul Perillo headed the project and was very easy to work with. He took into consideration that we wanted an English garden look, and chose plants that worked well to create this vision. We are very pleased with the end results and we would definitely recommend Bay Area Drainage.

Bay Area Drainage just did a job for me at a rental house I have in Walnut Creek. They did a great job again, took longer than planned (When Wayne met with me for the bid he told me he was incredibly busy and that it would take longer than normal, so I was warned).
I had 2 concerns, the new renters and the neighbors. The crew communicated with both parties, the job was kept incredibly clean and everyone was happy, even though there was more work than planned
Would recommend to anyone, not the cheapest outfit, but I feel you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay once to have it done right than fight it again down the line and my house in Lafayette has been perfect for going on 2 years now.

We have worked with Bay Area Drainage for multiple projects at our home in Lafayette over several years and each experience has been exceptional. Everyone I have dealt with at this company has been professional and respectful. Our first project was a french drain system around the perimeter of the home. This was an easy process and the results have been great. When it came time to renovate our backyard, they installed retaining walls with drainage systems, concrete pavers and artificial turf. All of the materials utilized are top of the line, and they provide workmanship to match. In our area, proper drainage is critical, and I especially appreciate the drainage expertise this company brings to every project.

We hired BAD to do our front yard from start to finish. They installed French drains, graded our yard and installed our sprinkler system and sod. Their work is meticulous and the employees are fantastic. Would recommend them in a heartbeat.
