I had Barthus Heating out for the first time on 3/6/25. My furnace was running but no heat was coming out. The owner, Val, came out the same day.
It was a wonderful experience! Val is professional, trustworthy, fair and nice. He's definitely my contact now and will highly recommend him to all of my family and friends!
Rarely do customers receive the full package of both customer service and technical knowledge. Val does both exceptionally well!
He even noticed something was wrong with my humidifier and rectified that issue on the spot. Nothing he found was serious and Val explained how everything works and also how your furnace will stop for safety reasons.
Val was outstanding! His pricing is also fair!

Our first experience with Bartkus Home Systems (Val) was fantastic.

We called Bartkus because another HVAC vendor told us that our AC unit could not be affordably replaced - we simply wanted a second opinion, fully expecting the first opinion was correct. Val systematically diagnosed the real problem (a faulty control board), and not the failure of the fan motor we were previously told. (The fan was entirely fine.) Val was able to order the control board and make the fix quickly and affordably - many thousands of dollars less.

I'll also add that Val was very professional and thoughtful during the entire process. We highly recommend Bartkus Home Systems.

Can't recommend him anymore. Prices are high, damaged high pressure water pump, what caused flooding , installed defective UV light, which I had to replace myself ..., stay away.

As a real estate broker for 11 years, I've been exposed to many HVAC contractors with both buyers and sellers. Val Bartkus is definitely the best! If he doesn't pick up his phone right away, he's very quick to return calls. He has incredible knowledge of heating/cooling and seems to really enjoy what he is doing. Not only do I recommend him to all my clients, I wouldn't have anyone else work on my own house. He is also a licensed plumber. The icing on the cake - he is VERY reasonably priced and would never take advantage of anyone. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Val at Bartkus Heating and Air and plumbing. When I found myself dealing with household issues I felt vunerable. After talking to Val, he explained exactly what I needed without over-selling me: he provided me with the right furnace/AC for my condo. He provided expert and meticulous installation. When a problem arose, he tried to fix the problem, showed me why it couldn't be fixed, then offered a reasonable alternative that didn't compromise the project or my budget. His installation was timely, and neat, always cleaning up after himself. He is trustworthy and has a GREAT work ethic. Even while he was recuperating from an injury, he kept me in the loop as to the progress of my project. He has helped me out in emergencies (no AC when temps were in the 90's) by coming out to the condo at 11:00pm.
He is now changing all my fixtures in my bathroom, again meticulous and very methodical.
I just cant see anyone going wrong by choosing BARTKUS HOME SYSTEMS. One final comment: as with any home project, budget is a big factor and I just don't like to fork out a lot of money for anything, however, after 1/2 hour after he arrived for installation, I realized it was money well spent. I am very happy with this project and happy knowing that I have Val looking out for my home needs.

I am a homeowner in Villa Park and dealt with Val Bartkus on several occasions during last 8 years. He came very early in the morning when my basement was flooded almost 4ft. It was winter, but he did not hesitate to go in and very quickly and efficiently fixed the bursted pipe. My furnace and boiler had to be replaced. Val did all this and his pricing was very reasonable. Another time I returned from vacation just to find that all first floor bathrooms were backed up. It was Sunday, but Val arrived very quickly and fixed the problem so fast that I had time to prepare for my Birthday party. It was in 2009 and I still cannot forget the relief I felt.
The latest incident was December 20, 2013. I heard something falling down my chimney and went to the basement to check if it is not damaging furnace. Down there I thought that it smells funny and I turned the furnace off. It was Friday and I had to leave home for a week on Monday so I called Val and explained my fears. He said that he is busy, but as soon as he is done with another client he will come. About an hour later he came and checked my furnace, he turned it back and explained the signs I have to watch for in the future. It was late evening, his service was very prompt and he charged me nothing, said I am an old client. I've never had such a courtesy from anybody.
