Our toilet was leaking (our only toilet during a quarantine I might add!) and we wanted it fixed asap. Called a few other companies and got their phone services. Dave picked up his phone directly, and, once we had described our situation, gave us a reasonable quote. We happened to have called on a day they were scheduling work and there was someone at our door not even two hours after I'd hung up. The young man that worked on our toilet was covid compliant, respectful, quick & efficient, and even tightened up some screws in our sink for us! I highly recommend, it was a very pleasant plumbing experience. Thanks!!

Berry Plumbing of Chestnut Hill MA( David Berry )was the greatest disappointment. He used to live on our street and my husband recommended to try him however we had the worse experience! We called him for some plumbing work in our bathroom, never pulled a permit and blamed my husband for it! He apparently could not place new shower drain and instead of calling to let me know he decided to just remove the entire plumbing in the basement and leave everything open while I was at work. Now we can not use anything in the house. Unbelievable! I 've contacted several plumbers to tell me what he actually did. Just to find out from several other plumbers in Newton that he actually did a lot of faulty work to other families . I called him back to ask him one more time if he was willing to come and repair or I would report him. Instead he called me all kinds of names over the phone. Wow, I was spechless . Man in the 50's yelling at customer "" you are piece of shit"" his own words which I thankfully recored. I went straight to Newton City Hall and reported him and filed online report, took pictures of everything, printed all my text massages !We will follow up with this! still shocked, not expected this type of response in Newton MA

Need a plumber who is actually responsive and can have your leaking garbage disposal removed and replaced in 10 minutes after they arrive ON TIME? If yes, call these guys! I've never had a service person arrive at the time they said they would, but these guys were prompt.

Not only that but clearly they knew what they were doing because Paul (who has over a decade of experience) and his assistant/apprentice, Matt, removed the leaky disposal and installed a new one in under 10 minutes. That must be up there in some kind of Guinness book of world record, no?

Their fees seemed to be in line with other company quotes I received for the same service. I've had a difficult time finding a reliable plumber I could trust until now. Many thanks to Barry and his team for their work.

I have seen the five star reviews for Dave Barry, and they deserve it. They replaced a toilet for me a few years back. Recently they replaced the shutoff valves under my kitchen sink. They seals on the old shut off valves had eroded away, and the detritus from this gummed up my old kitchen sink faucet (which I quickly replaced myself), and my new kitchen sink faucet. They cleaned this crud from the cartridge and body of my new faucet, and came back and cleaned in again a few hours later when there were problems. The plumber explained how the detritus from the eroded seals in the old shut off valves might still gum up the faucet in the future, and he also showed to me how to clean the faucet cartridge and body myself if it happened again.

Our water heater blew in the middle of the night. I posted on FB and checked Yelp for highly rated plumbers contacting some via email. Barry Plumbing responded quickly, quoted a reasonable price, and scheduled a same day appt. The young man, Paul was an hour early, worked steadily for about 2 hours, charged what was quoted. He also cleaned up the area. By 3 pm we had hot water again. Very satisfied with this company and highly recommend and would use again.

I honestly could not be more grateful to David Barry Plumbing. My wife and I were panicking about trying to fix our shower a week before putting our condo on the market and in less than 24 hours, all of our shower concerns were gone. The only thing I will ever do differently next time I have a plumbing issue is call David Barry Plumbing first, before I waste my time worrying and calling other plumbers.

Here's the story:

A week before putting my condo on the market the building called me saying that my shower valve was leaking into the floor below me and my wife and I had to stop showering until we got it fixed. After frantically calling and leaving messages for the plumbers my building recommended along with a few other recommendations, the soonest any of them could come to look at the problem was a week later. We needed to sell our place so that was not an option. Then a contractor friend of mine recommended David Barry Plumbing, I called and left a message. In less than 10 minutes I received a call back. When I explained my situation and asked how quickly they could help me, I was told that they could be there 9am the flowing morning! When I expressed how grateful I was, the response was ""you are putting your place on the market next week, this is kind of an emergency."" Of the countless companies I had spoken to that day, this was the only one that understood the bind I was in and willing to help me out. When they arrived at my place the next morning (right on time, even though parking in the area is a bit difficult) they did not just tear open my bathroom wall to get at the valve the building thought was leaking. They inspected the entire situation before opening my wall and discovered that the problem was not what the building had said it was, but was actually an issue with the shower head pipe. They then replaced the pipe and made sure there were not other issues with the shower, all without making a single hole in my wall (which was amazing because we were worried about fixing the wall and repainting in time for the open houses)! To top it all off, because I needed the problem fixed ASAP, I never asked for an estimate or any number for how much this would cost me. I was worried that they may try to jack up their price since they knew I was in a bind and they never gave me a quote or estimate. However, when I received the invoice, it was extremely reasonable, there wasn't even short notice or emergency call fee!

I have used Barry plumbing several times. Dave Barry is very responsive and either he or his assistant have arrived within a day. Everything I have asked them about they have been knowledgable about. I will continue to use Barry plumbing and would highly recommend them.

If I could give Dave, from Barry plumbing 10 stars, I would. I've used him 3 times now and each time has been fantastic. He has been the most honest, trustworthy, and reliable plumber I have used. Most recently, he did a hot water heater for us, and he went above and beyond what any plumber would do to get the unit which was installed replaced for a new one since it was malfunctioning. Anytime I have called him, he has been out in less then 15 minutes, and he even answered me Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving! He always puts his customers first, and makes sure that they are taken care of. He even followed up a few days later to make sure everything was ok and working properly. I would Absolutely recommend him for any plumbing job to all my friends and family.
