Several members of our family used Barry's services for years. We trusted him, his pricing was fair and he was reliable. Then things started to go wrong. He hired a family member who didn't have the same expertise or share the same values of on-time and fair pricing. We thought the lengthy, poorly completed, and ridiculously overpriced job was due to the new employee, so we hired Barry again for another project. We took Barry's advice on equipment to install and it went downhill fast from there. The very expensive equipment failed within a few months. Barry blamed the company and said the equipment company wouldn't stand by their product and it would be thousands to replace the faulty part. He offered to replace the equipment at ""cost"" plus labor. Then he replaced the equipment with a much less expensive model and charged us more for it than the retail price offered at online plumbing websites (I included shipping in my comparison.) He refused to answer why he didn't either replace the equipment with comparable equipment or charge us less than retail for the equipment he did install. We considered going to court because this $1000 equipment cost us many, many thousands of dollars. In the end, we decided that we held some of the responsibility because we trusted him enough that we didn't get some of the agreements in writing. I've never been so disgusted with a service professional in my life. Don't let his Bible quoting, nice guy persona fool you. Avoid!

I used Barr in the past with SOME decent results but this time takes the cake. Had a pressure tank leak, Barry came out and informed me that the system needed replaced. I asked specific questions and was given specific answers about several concerns I had. I trusted him and allowed him to come back as agreed, and enter my home without my presence. He completed the work, installing the new tank, which he instructed me to buy, and was paid over the phone. As I said, I trusted him, that turned out to be a terrible mistake. The job looked like it was done by a second year high school kid. He changed the size of all the pipes, reducing the input of water, he left the jet pump hanging from the ceiling with plastic straps, not attached to the tank as before. I was stunned when I came home from work that evening and saw that mess. I demanded he return and correct the mess and he refused, instead he offered a complete refund. I accepted and found a competent plumber to repair the left mess.

Came out, polite, so gave them 2 stars. Charged me 2 arms and a leg and my first born to put in toilet fixings (250 bucks!). Took 2 guys an hour to do it. I needed more ROUTINE faucet work done, but they had nothing on their truck to do the work with, and I had already bought the faucets. Said they would come out the next day to finish the work but it would still cost me another service trip because they didn't have the right van, like that's my fault? 2 stars is generous. Never again.

They replaced an upflush pump that pumps waste from our basement bathroom to the main line. They charged us $850.00 to fix our problem. The pump had no box or directions. We were only given the install directions after my husband asked for the manual. The worst part was that I kept smelling a mild sewer smell in the basement off and on. Come to find out, the pipes were not properly sealed which let the smell out into the living area. Once I sealed them myself, no more smell. I would NOT recommend this company. I feel I was ripped off by this company and perhaps was given a used pump or a pump from another job that ended up not being installed. Plus the job was not done correctly leaving a sewer smell ruminating through my house.

Mr. Barr was incredible as he was polite, punctual, and really attentive to what he was doing. His attention to detail, right down to the little things, really impressed me to the point to take the time to recommend him.
