Barnett heating and cooling in Assonet has horrible customer service. Called and scheduled a service of my heating system and they said the soonest was 2 weeks out. On the day of service my wife waited all day for a no call no show. I waited a few days before calling and after leaving a message no one called back. Got in contact with the main guy 2 days ago who said he would call yesterday and still no response. If they don't want the money, the service contract or the job, just say that.

Our Central Air Conditioning unit was literally falling to pieces, and simply not working anymore as it was intended. Of course the failure occurred just before a heat wave in June...I called maybe 10 companies, all of which (including Alex) were booked out approximately a week and a half to a month. Despite this, Alex made us a priority and came out the same day of our phone call to assess our system and provide his professional assessment. Long story short, our unit needed to be replaced due to its age and the fact that it was rotting from the inside out. Barnett Heating and Cooling get five stars from us, they are professional, responsive, pleasant to speak with, came in below the original quote, and completed the work in the time frame promised. We hope to have secured a plumber for the long term! I would recommend Barnett H&C to anyone.

Contrary to the other reviewers here, I had a very positive experience with this company. Alex was one of the few plumbers wiling to take on a specialized plumbing system and was persistent until the issue was resovled. He was patient, taking the time to do things right, and responsive, always available, even on the weekend. The price was reasonable too. I would recommend Barnett to anyone.

In hindsight all the concerns and issues previous reviews noted I encountered. Several expenses I now question and my last interaction with him was horrific. Use someone else- anyone else. I wish I did.

This company is a recommended service provider for Navien heating systems, however I would recommend you find another heating company. The Tech showed up over an hour late, after I called to ask where he was. The heating system had been shut off for a winter season, so his task was to start it back up. He informed me of several problems with the system and I said to fix a couple of the problems. After an hour into the repair, he said, you are up to over $700 and I see another $700 or so that needs repairing. I said stop with what you have completed. I requested an invoice which he promised to send. It took two weeks and many reminders before it was sent. HERE is my caution. Most, if not all contractors list the cost of the parts and the labor involved to install. (After a ""service call fee"") My invoice simply listed a total repair cost for each part and not a parts and labor cost. I went to my local plumbing supply store and the total cost of the parts were less than $200, yet this company charged $700 in labor for less than 3 hours of work. Find another heating company for you work.

I was looking for AC repair. My unit stopped working (I had burning smell coming out from the duct). Unit outside was still working, so I assumed it was the blower that burned out. I had a technician from Barnett come out who stated that they don't service the units I have (Goodman), but I would need to replace the whole system because I also have mold in the unit and it would cost me up t0 $7,000.00. He stated he would mail me the estimate and charged $134.00 for just coming out. I never got the email from the company even after I called to remind them, and being very suspicious I had another company come out who not only started the unit (I do have to replace the burner as I thought it was the cause of the problem), but the technician didn't change me anything. Plus, I didn't have any mold, it was dust build up.
DO NOT use this people as you will regret it!

Made an appointment for propane furnace repair on a 6-year old furnace. Tech was over an hour late. Told us there was corrosion on the furnace control circuit board and heat exchanger and that the control circuit board would need to be replaced as a starting point ($800 guestimate). Told us the heat exchanger may need replacing as well, but it should be OK as long as the carbon monoxide detectors in our home didn't go off (nice little scare tactic). Told us that if the heat exchanger needed replacing, it may be more economical to replace the entire furnace (even though the heat exchanger is still covered by the factory warranty). Promised to email an estimate with options for repair or replacement. Never emailed an estimate. Only after calling and chewing him out did he come back with a verbal estimate of $200-300 for the control circuit board and then proceeded to tell us it may need the motor as well for another $300+.

Had a second company come out for a second opinion. Second company's tech cleaned the flame sensor and performed a full inspection. The furnace now works perfectly. Explained and showed us that there was no sign of corrosion where we were told by the Barnett tech.
