Recommended Customer Reviews
It all started when our 30 year-old furnace bit the dust. We are the original owners of our house, and the furnace lasted this whole time -- 10 years over expectations!! Well, we decided to put a new Carrier furnace in since it had the same footprint. We went with Barlow's Aire Force One because we like to use our local businesses and they had been recommended to us.
They did a great job!! Even though there was a bad part in the new furnace from the factory, they came out the next day and replaced it. Then when it still wouldn't work, they came out the following day as well.... That was 3 days in a row.
They found a wiring problem that had been there from day 1 when the house was built!! The old style furnace had shown a problem, but we worked around it without knowing what the problem was. I was totally impressed that they were able to find the electrical problem since it was in such a hidden place. The new furnace had blown a fuse because of our old problem. With the fuse replacement and the fixed wiring, the furnace has worked now for 2 1/2 months without any problems.
As part of the furnace installation, we had them put a coil in the furnace with the expectation to put air conditioning in our house. We had wired the house when it was built for air conditioning but had never completed it. This week, we had them come and complete the air conditioner installation with the compressor and connection to the new furnace.
The air conditioner tested out great!
During the whole process of both the furnace and the air conditioner installations, the whole team, from the owner, Wayne, to the installation crew, headed by Mark, and the secretaries were very knowledgeable and answered our questions, giving us the advice and direction we needed.
They even gave us a ""heads up"" about price increases and we were able to ""lock-in"" the lower price.
Thanks Aire Force One..... We felt ""presidential"" during the whole process.
I don't ever take the time to leave reviews. Use these guys if you're desperate for time but not if you want good communication or good service. I asked them to come out to service our hvac at our rental. Got told that we needed a new one. I wanted to see the proof and they weren't able to unless we met physically there which the tech seemed annoyed about having to go back out and wasn't very nice on the phone. I had originally asked if they could do work on our water heater as well. The tech said they would try to get it done. There never was communication whether it was done or not. We were trying to complete appraisal requests as we were trying to sell the house. When my husband checked to see if the work was done on the water heater it looked like they didn't get to it. So my husband went to Lowe's and bought the part we needed and fixed it himself. It was a surprise to us when we received the bill for the water heater which was over $100 (mind you my husband spent $6 on the part). When I called to ask what happened since we thought it wasn't done, I argued with the tech that supposedly did the work for 7 minutes, to which I gave up. In this case I don't expect it to be a customer is always right situation but have some understanding of where I'm coming from. I'm having to pay for a bill that I didn't even know about due to it not being communicated and therefore having to be done by my husband to make sure it met what the appraisal was asking to be done. I ended up paying the bill and will not be using them further. Dealing with the techs that have no customer service and are clearly ""I'm right and know more than you"" is just not worth it. I'll pay the extra amount to have someone from Idaho Falls commute here to work for me.
Chelbie M.Quoted me a 700 to 800 job to replace a leaking faucet in our tub. Got a bill for almost 1100. Didn't show up the first day rescheduled after I had to call them to find out where they were. They couldn't show up til 4 days later. Changed What he originally said he was gonna do to complete the job by going through my wall a different way so i wouldn't see or have a hole.. Then Left a hole in my wall above my shower head that I had to patch on my dime. Broke tile that is dated and can't be replaced. Then didn't secure the shower head and had to come back the next day and repair it.Put in a faucet that we didn't even get to pick.Left dirty muddy foot prints on my floor and greasy hand prints on my walls down the hallway. Called and spoke to the receptionist told me that the plumber would call me directly to explain my bill because she wasn't sure.Waited 4 days. Plumber called me and basically said welp jobs go over and he couldn't tell me the pricing because he doesn't handle it either? The parts prices I was charged for I went to homedepot and found them 4 times cheaper than what I was gouged for. The prices we found at the store were for packs of parts so he was basically restocking his truck with our bill.
If you decide to go through this business make sure Duane isn't doing your work he overcharges and he doesn't even do the job right couldn't even get my heater to turn on the next day and they charged me $1300 to tune my heater up and put one new stack on my house And when I told them my heater didn't work they told me that they weren't coming back out to fix it they were done with me I will never go through this business again.Voughts Is much cheaper and they know what they're doing.
Lisa L.On 10/10/19 three guys came from Barlow Air Force One to tune up my furnace and Ensure everything was functional and ready to go for the winter and even checked the thermostat settings. My furnace is in the basement so I held the door up while the three guys went down to the basement to do what they had to do. I asked that they take with them the new filter that I had purchased for the furnace to make sure that it is the right size. They assured me that it is the correct size but the other one was still clean and I did not need the new air filter at the time. Within minutes all three guys came back up from my basement told me everything looked good and clean and that I was good to go. After telling me that it is a 20 year old furnace I asked if it will get me through this winter. Two out of three of them not of their head and said yes it will get you through this winter no problem. On Friday October 18th my furnace stopped working. I don't know what they did or didn't do or if my furnace just wasn't going to make it. However when I contacted Air Force One and spoke with Mark Barlow the supervisor he informed me that he is not responsible for his men telling me that my furnace will get me through the winter. I told him all I needed was a tune-up and to make sure the thermostat was in working order. I informed him that his guys were here for mere minutes and reassured me that my furnace would get me through this winter. But he is not taking responsibility for that. No apology was provided. No discount was offered. Nothing. He just told me he would have a talk with the boys. That does not help me. I am a single woman on disability living alone and cannot afford a new furnace. I especially really don't appreciate being told that my furnace will get me through the winter and then a week later it dies only for the company note to take responsibility for what they have told me or reach out and try to help in any way.
Why is it that my furnace was working just fine before they came over? Why won't they offer any form of help or even an apology? I don't recommend Barlow Air Force One. They are quick dirty and not compassionate at all. I'm not even sure if they're licensed.
Go with someone who is licensed and compassionate. Make sure you are in good hands and if you have to talk to a few different heating and air technicians and interview them so that you don't wind up in the same position as me.
The technician, Randy, and his ""apprentice"" came to fix air conditioner. Cost of labor was $140 /hour and they charged me for 1.5 hours labor despite spending lessint than 45 mins on the job. Charged extra $200 to clean the unit and said it was fixed. They didn't fix anything and then when I called them to come back and compete the job they told me the entire AC and furnace needed to be replaced. A total of $8000. A competitor came and fixed it with no needed parts, only expertise. The unit is working great again, a savings of $8000. Highly recommend anyone else.

I was ripped off also I had a bad outlet they came and ran a cord from my tv to my washroom plug 800.00 it was my cord!
Not professional at all. We had two bids to replace our kitchen light fixtures. This bid came in slightly under the other so we chose Barlow's to do the work. The bill came and it was $500 over what they quoted. Because hanging these lights is a two person job they said. They never mentioned that when they gave the bid. THEY chose to send two employees ( an electrician and an apprentice) to do the job. I'm all about safety and it probably is safer for two guys to hang them but they could have said that when they gave us the bid! They were here for slightly over 2 hours. They billed us $140 an hour for 4 hours. They hung one fixture crooked but I'm usually not a complainer so I just bit my tongue and said I'd live with it. Then this fixture just decided to fall out of the ceiling after someone upstairs shut a door. (This is only 5 weeks later). They were totally rude to my husband when he called with questions about the bill and basically told us they didn't need our business and not to call anymore. Wayne just said they have been in business for over 30 years and what they charged isn't unreasonable and that was that. No regards to customer service. Well if that's how it is we don't want to use your service any more. Thanks but no thanks!
I had a water heater that was leaking and making a mess everywhere! I called Aire Force One and they were able to come out the same day. Not only did they install a new water heater, they cleaned up after themselves. From the receptionist, to the crew that came to do the install, they were kind and very professional.
I will only be calling Aire Force One in the future for any repairs I need done!
