we used this service and what a HUGH mistake. within 2 years the system went bad. they refused to honor their warranty. they refused to repair the system. now we don't have ac in the house. DO NOT USE!!!!!!!! they are not worth the time or money.

Wow, these reviews really swing in one direction or the other, huh? Well, I've personally had multiple good experiences with them over the past 18 months or so.
I was visiting my family last year when their A/C went out- of course when it passed 100 degrees. Honestly, I think it happened Thursday afternoon, but between the temp and humidity and spending a good part of the day outside doing yard work, I think we all just thought we were individually having a difficult time cooling down. It wasn't until late that night that it became obvious, so it was early Friday morning when I called.
My parents told me they had used Barker's several times in the past and have always been very happy with them, so I looked up their number and called them ASAP. When they answered I explained that I knew this was a busy time of year for them but I was very worried about my father's health considering it broke 100 the day before. They took me very seriously and said they could have someone out between 10am and 12pm- better news than I could have hoped for!
Roughly 30 minutes later, Boomer called me and told me he could be there in 15 minutes unless it was better for him to wait until 10am. I gladly told him to come right over. When he arrived I asked him to wait a moment while I finished securing the animals and got my father masked up before he came in to check the thermostat. He immediately offered to mask up as well, which was kind and more than I would have expected.
He worked quickly, efficiently and thoroughly. He took our situation into consideration and really helped us out. The service fee was $119 and worth every penny.
Several months later I found out the A/C was out again, this time while I was out of town. I decided to pay the annual membership fee over the phone when scheduling a visit. It includes free quarterly inspections, waived service fees and a percentage off work that has to be done. I think it ended up being around $185. It definitely worked out as the 26 year old unit had to be replaced.
I also get texts when they are going out there and it's been really convenient. They've worked around my mother's schedule for the quarterly inspections and have been responsive when she needs someone to come out and help her. I really feel they are taking care of my mother and it's been worth renewing the membership fee again.
I've had no issues with any of the techs that have come out or anyone in the office when I call.

We called last week to get an appointment to service the AC for our townhome. I cannot emphasize how much we loved the person that made the appointment, the text message the day before to confirm, and a call from Lawrence S., our technician, at 7:54 a.m. to let us know he was on his way. From start to finish, everything was explained thoroughly by Lawrence. We decided to purchase the AC membership due to great customer service and detailed explanation of everything that was done during today's visit and the future 6-month service.

Been with Barkers a couple years. Called for a simple service... required a shop vac and 10 minutes of their time...$163
Unbelievable. Not renewing. If their service calls are that expensive, I can't justify it.

It was my first experience with Barkers AC Company. I called and they immediately sent their Technician to check out the problems with my AC.
They texted me the arrival time with a photo of the technician. This was a very thoughtful safety detail. I can not begin to express my appreciation to BOOMER, he arrived perfectly on schedule. He is verypolite, friendly and professional. I have been very impressed by the time and effort he put to solve my AC problem. He was efficient and outstanding. The quality of service I got was really superior. My experience with this company has been great. I cannot recommend them enough. They are the nicest company to deal with and they truly have good and dedicated staff.

Cody with Barkers came out and replaced our 87 yr old Mom's A/C capacitor-on a Sunday-MOTHERS DAY! It was such a relief-lack of A/C in Texas heat isn't just an inconvenience for the elderly-it's dangerous. We put my Mom on Barkers annual plan a few months ago- so she gets both A/C units and furnace checked each year. We can't recommend their services enough. The Schorn kids say "Thank you Barkers!"

I'm giving a good commendation for one of the service technicians who works for this company. Jared was sent to troubleshoot my HVAC -a brand new install which was not cooling on first use. Jared was professional & competent as he systematically tested the outside components with his HVAC diagnostic tools. He explained clearly when answering my questions.
I was impressed with his respectful responses.
On completion, he determined it was not receiving a signal from the inside component. 1-2-3- DONE

No sense of urgency whatsoever in fixing AC that's been out for 9 days and counting. Said part was on back order. Over 1week to get. Now it's here and call me to reschedule 30 minutes before appointment knowing I am 11/2 hours away. Totally awful customer service. No consideration or concern for the customer. Just brush u off to another person if u express how unhelpful they are. Wondering how they'd feel if their a/c was out for 9days and counting in this heat?

This was totally my fault. I should have read the reviews. I won't name the tech, I doubt it's his decision to price gouge. The poor guy couldn't price the job he had to call in. So tech came out got in the attic spent about 10 minutes came downstairs and told me I had to replace the coil I asked why and he said there was a leak in one of the tubes. For the life of me I can't figure out how he pressure tested without going outside to the unit. Maybe new technology. He then spent 45 minutes in his truck trying to get me a price when he came back in he said that the parts guy was out of town that he would email me the info I needed. This is what I got.(see picture below)
That was last Friday I went back up on Monday with two appointments from two different companies and received a quote for $174 and $207 they both said the coil was fine and they both had the exact same solution.Mind you they knew nothing about the price I was quoted for the coil. What a shame.

Stay away from these people. Sold a complete unit including duct work, thermostat, the works and these folks wont even honor their own warranty. They even fell through my ceiling and it took a law suit threat to have it repaired.
I had to hire Royal AC service (College Station) to correct everything from duct work to thermostat.
Their head salesman, let me know that the company was sold to another group from Louisiana and the Texas owner were not responsible .... even tough the warranty said so....
Stay away from these crooks!!!!!
