Cory has done a number of projects for us and never fails to satisfy. He performed the plumbing for a shower replacement, replaced several valves, repaired a pipe leak, and installed a laundry sink. He provides a plan and executes it. Extremely professional, on time and does a great job. He's the first call I make for any plumbing needs.

We've used their service a few times, but we probably won't use them again. Here's our experience: First: We scheduled their first service because of their relatively good reviews. The task was to replace a few angle stops, and the technician assigned was Terry. Although we had some communication issues initially, I believe he was overall a good and honest guy who tried his best to address any problems that arose. Second: We hired them again to replace a dishwasher. Cory Barack came in person and told us he had fired Terry, which is a bit of a surprise. Unfortunately, the new dishwasher didn't fit under our countertop, so we ended up reinstalling the old one. We have nothing to say as we didn't do enough due diligence. Third: This was by far the worst. A new technician (I can't recall his name) came to investigate an issue with a bath faucet. He arrived 53 minutes late, was very rude, and did not remove his shoes. We explicitly asked him not to break anything since we had guests arriving soon, but he still managed to cause damage. Initially, the faucet had hot water but difficulty adjusting the temperature; after his ""investigation,"" there was no hot water at all. Then he told us to reschedule the service as he didn't have time to get the parts because he had other jobs to do that afternoon. We asked him to restore the original setup, but he claimed he didn't know how to restore the hot water with the old parts. I tried calling Barack six times, but he didn't answer. When I messaged him, I only received useless responses. Left with no choice, I pushed very hard and ended up paying emergency rates to get the issue resolved by the end of the day. I feel scammed because I was charged $125 for parts that cost less than $50 on the market and $225 for labor to replace a single valve. After all, there's no emergency before the ""investigation"". With all the chaos above, I wish Barack could scale down their business, and refocus to improve ethics and building a strong team. They can't handle all the requests they've accepted obviously! To other potential customers: only use their service if Cory personally will come. I admit he's good technician himself.

After trouble with another plumber, Barack Plumbing actually got back to me and made an appointment for the next day. Cory was a little bit late, but he communicated that to me, which was very much appreciated. We discussed the concern that I had, and then checked another area that he said he would send me an estimate on. He sent the estimate the next day, in a very timely manner!

Excellent work ethic. Good workmanship. Cory and Terry were great! Terry came back and checked on everything. Very personable and efficient. Lindsey was on it and got me scheduled. I highly recommend Barack Plumbing.

I am so glad that I found Corey of Barack Plumbing. He set an alcove bathtub for me and plumbed the valve wall for a shower tub that we were replacing. His workmanship was outstanding. He was professional, courteous, and careful in every aspect of this job. He takes pride in his profession and the work that he does. As an aspiring DIY'er I was able to demolish most of our old and cracked fiberglass surround, however with a condo unit below me I did not want to risk doing something wrong as an amateur. When it came to removing and then installing a new bathtub I knew that a licensed professional was needed and that is why I am so thankful that I found Corey. The company is outstanding. They are so kind and professional. I cannot repeat that enough. Corey gave me options for a replacement bathtub (something that will last a lot longer than the old fiberglass tub that we had) and took care of every aspect of the job efficiently and professionally. While doing the job he discovered that the water shut off in our unit was no longer functioning. He had parts (and a valve) on hand to actually repair that totally separate issue during the bathtub job. I would not have discovered this issue if it were not for him (we also would not have been able to shut the water off to our unit in an emergency without a working valve!) Further, he told me that whenever my tile work was finished he would come back and finish the install of the trim for the shower and faucet fixtures. He came as soon as the tile was done just like he said and finalized everything for us. The shower turned out beautifully and we literally could not have done it without his plumbing expertise. Most importantly, he put me at ease during the entire process of getting this big plumbing job done. I cannot recommend Barack Plumbing enough. Corey and company, I cannot thank you enough!

I rate Barack Plumbing among the best Plumbing company working on Hawaii Island. Cory, Terry and Lyndsay all jump when they get any type of response. The communication is top notch, they schedule your appointment follow-up by email, phone, and are always ON TIME. Not a lot of companies show up at an appointment on time. I love the family aspect of the business and we support family and small businesses as much as possible. Cory is a life saver he helped me in Hawi, Kona, Holualoa and hopefully many more times in the future (not that I want anything to break down). I can't thank the entire staff and Cory for working with our tough schedules and long distance locations. We have 100+% confidence in their work and as another reviewer said they have excellent work ethic, clean-up after their work, friendly and really show us the ALOHA!! Mahalo Cory and Team! I called Barack plumbing when my tankless water heater stopped working and was pleasantly surprised that Cory, the owner, could come look at the heater the following morning. Cory arrived on time and did everything he could to get it going again, but the heater was 18 years old and was done. Cory then moved some of his appointments around so he could have time to do a full tankless water heater install 2 days later, knowing what an emergency that no hot water can be. Cory and Riley then installed the new one and quickly made an unexpected modification to the existing house vent so the new heater would work flawlessly. The results are outstanding! Not only does the new heater work perfectly, but the craftsmanship of the entire job is also unmatched with its beautiful pipe routing and sturdy, reliable installation. Throughout the whole install, Cory kept me informed of what was happening at every step. They take wonderful care of your house the whole time, the finished work is spectacular. Fast, friendly, professional service with affordable pricing. I highly recommend Barack plumbing for any plumbing needs, you won't be disappointed!

Barack Plumbing (California office, same owner/business) completed a custom walk-in shower for us about a year ago. The crew did a fantastic job, and we're very happy with it. The owner's site manager was really pleasant to work with and took tremendous pride in the quality of their work. Cory listened to our needs and gave us some great design ideas. My wife was delighted with the new shower, and that says it all! We made the right choice to hire Cory, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Barack Plumbing for their full remodeling services. Highly recommended.

I have used Barack Plumbing & Construction for various projects, and one complete remodel of a bathroom in a cabin in South Lake Tahoe. The cabin is a vacation property and I was not able to be onsite when Cory and his team managed the remodel. First, I could not be happier with the quality of the work. Absolutely fantastic. He took the time to contact me and explain how one of my choices for border tile wasn't going to look right, so I was able to find something that gave me the result he knew that I wanted. Here are the attributes that I look for and received from Cory: Responsiveness. When he says he is going to show up, he does. And if he cannot, he will call or text. Flexible. He worked with me when things came up since I was not onsite. He would send me pictures, video, whatever was needed to help us communicate. Fair. He is very fair with his pricing and work ethic. Very high work standards. Enough said there. I grew up with a father and brother in the trades who had an eye for incredible details, I have it too. And I recognize it when I see it and am so happy when I receive it with people I hire. Respectful. He is respectful of direction, changes, feedback. Reliable. He always shows up. If you have a problem, he has a solution. And his solultions and recommendations are always well thought out. Extremely logical and the correct approach to do things right, never cuts corners. I think if you are looking for someone who knows their craft and want a beautiful result, Cory is your person.

Live in Keahou area. Our water is good but, is groundwater, treated with chlorine, travels through steel mainlines, stored in steel reservoirs (not coated). So, I decided on an ISpring 3-stage filter for Iron, Maganese, Chlorine, and other secondary particulates. BARACK PLUMBING was responsive to my call, provided a reasonable quote, stuck to their scheduled install date, and did a professional job. I appreciated their solid copper plumbing, use of SS ball valves, and clean/courteous approach. They did a great job in a short time frame. If you're thinking of a multistage filter on the Island, I suggest the Ispring Heavy duty, not available in local stores. It is much larger and will run longer before needing a filter change (equals savings). I bought mine from Amazon and also purchased a pre-filter for sediment. The pre filter has a discharge port for simple flushing, and will help extend the life of the more expensive filters.
