We had a wonderful experience with Doug from Bamford plumbing. We just moved into our home and wanted to covert our electric range to a gas range. This meant we needed a competent plumber to run a line from the gas pipe in our basement to the kitchen. Out of all the plumbers I called (with good reviews) Doug was the only one able to come do a free estimate the same day. Took 10 minutes and he gave a pretty close estimate verbally but then also sent a formal estimate via email soon after. I have to say that his communication was on point. From keeping us in the loop on pulling the county permit to starting the work to when it can be finished, he was very clear and honest. I have never had a plumber communicate so well. His work was clean and well done. He pulled the permit on a Friday, finished the preinspection setup on Saturday, passed the inspection on Monday and we were cooking food on Monday night. For those that don't know, this is phenomenal because it can sometimes take days or weeks to finish this job. We chose Doug because he was able to do it the earliest. But in the end, he did a great job, and was very reasonably priced. I will be sure to call him for all my plumbing needs. Honest, competent, fast, master plumber and gas fitter!

Doug just left our home. Our pilot light for our hot water heater wouldn't come on, but not only did Doug fix it, he showed us how to do it for ourselves the next time it goes out. He was a really, really, really nice guy. Totally helpful and allowed us to show him some other things around the house and in the yard that we were concerned about plumbing and drainage wise. He took time with us and didn't seem terribly rushed like some plumbing and heating folks. He was really knowledgeable and discussed several remedies with us concerning various drainage issues on our property. He's a really cool guy. He arrived really quick (shortly after we called him), and he did what he said he'd do. Dependability and reliability means a lot to us, so he's our new guy now for drainage, plumbing, heating, and cooling type issues. Try him. You won't be disappointed.

All I can say is that I am so happy to finally find an honest and efficient plumber. I was work with them while out of town which is normally difficult if not impossible with other contractors in my experience. His initial quote was on the spot, job was done in a timely matter and even sent me pictures after everything was done making my life a lot easier will repeat business!

Finding a reasonably affordable, relatively available, and experienced plumber is a difficult task. I screened several plumbing professionals (large and small) over the phone; Was not comfortable providing a pre-estimate deposit during scheduling.

After discovering this one-man plumber on Yelp, I made the call - figuring I would continue screening the next 5 plumbers on my list. Once Doug answered my screening questions (and those specifically pertaining to my plumbing issue), and recognizing my plumbing issue was not urgent, I willingly scheduled an appointment.

I am quite pleased with my decision. Doug was extremely proficient, thorough - going beyond the normal as in preventative maintenance, as well as cleaned the workspace afterwards.

Because of my own schedule, I watch the clock so my only ( minor) concern was the duration of the visit which had no bearing on the service price (quoted earlier).

Nonetheless, my kitchen plumbing has been in working order since. I found this service exceeding my expectations, affordable, and recommendable. When future plumbing need arises, I will be contacting Bamford Plumbing.

Quick response, great job, was very easy for both my tenant and I to deal with. I called after 5:00, and they were there the next morning. I called after the job was done and gave my cc number over the phone. Fast, good, and easy!

Finding reliable contractors is a challenge given I don't live in the area. I would highly recommend them!

On request, I emailed Doug a list of specific issues I needed addressed. He responded to my email, but did not quote any prices. When he arrived that evening (see below re timing), he wanted $170 to replace a simple drain stopper. If I had known that, I wouldn't have wasted either of our times.
Speaking of times, he was supposed to come out between 2-3, so I had taken off work. Though he did call to say he was running late due to an expected job requirement at another location, he estimated he'd be here between 3-5. He arrived at 6:30 p.m. without another call. I could have saved my day off from work.
He ended up fixing one toilet (for $173 - so why was a simple stopper so much?), and did a good job on that - though that required a run to Home Depot and he was here until 9:00 p.m.! I was ready for bed!
Would not use again.

Doug is fantastic. I bought a foreclosed house five months ago and have probably had him at my house at least five or six times already for various plumbing issues. He is always there when he says he will be, he does great work and explains what and why he's doing what he's doing, and his rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend him!
