Update April 2016: after all the hassle the line was dug up and replaced and there have been no problems in the months since. I'm told that Jason has recently sold the company and that there's a new owner, if that's the case please don't hold old reviews again the new owner. I'm going to leave this review up with a neutral ""A-OK"" 3 stars.

Update Jul 24: Jason says they will stand behind the work, will honor the warranty, and will dig up and replace the sewer line. I'm still less than pleased about being told someone would be out last week and having no one show, but if the repair is completed I will be satisfied.

In June 2013 Baltimore Sewer Service.com LLC installed a ""seamless pipe liner"" to fix my main sewer line. They gave a 50 year warranty (as written on the work order -- Jason's claim in a post here that they don't offer such a warranty is just not true. See http://infamous.net/bss.jpg . )

At the time of the repair I was pleased, I thought that they'd effectively fixed the problem at a reasonable price. But the line started to run slow a few weeks ago, getting bad last week. I called twice (on Thursday July 16 and Friday July 17) and was told someone would be out Friday morning. No one showed and I was not called back. I sent e-mail through their website at BaltimoreSewerService.com and received no reply.

With the line completely backed up and sewage bubbling up in the toilet on Saturday, on Sunday I had to have another plumber snake out the line. That plumber pulled several handfuls of out of the line. They just did a video inspection and found heavy root infiltration in the part that was supposedly lined. The repair guaranteed for 50 years had totally failed in two.

And not only has the repair failed, I can't seem to get them to respond to the problem. I've filed a BBB complaint seeking a refund, as a preliminary to official complaints with the county and state plumbing boards and/or a lawsuit.

I am open to finding a resolution to this and will update this review if BSS makes things right, but I'm not optimistic.

Do NOT Use This Company for any Sewer Problems! The owner jason is the biggest liar i have ever delt with in my life. He was going to charge us $4100 for repairs that were not even needed. Luckily his shady antics made us get a second opinion.
He is impossible to get in touch with after he takes your money for an inspection.. If you need sewer help call Roto Rooter. They dont rip you off! If i could give NEGATIVE stars I would !

I find it humorous how quick jason is to try and save his ass here on yelp ! Had i known I would have used yelp to get him to send us a report we needed 5 days ago! Long story short I WOULD NEVER TRUST THIS GUY TO FLUSH MY TOILET.. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me add another excellent review of Jason.

I was ripped off by two plumbers before I found this on Yelp. Jason was professional and reasonable. Hedid not over charge and did an exceptional job.

My only issue was that he did not show up when they said and they did not call. I understand that things come up, but it is only professional to call and let the customer know if you cannot make it there.

However, when they did so up they did a great job.

I recently had a blocked sewer pipe related to a vandalism incident. Unfortunately I contacted Baltimore Sewer Service hoping to get it repaired quickly. They arrived the first day and came unprepared with the wrong equipment for the job (despite describing to them what was happening on the phone when I first contacted them). They then didn't return for 2 days (despite promising to return within 1 with the correct equipment). When they did finally return they quickly attempted to clear the line before saying they wouldn't e able to do it with the material they had. I inquired about digging up the line (which is what I eventually had to do with a competitor) to which they responded they wanted to try one more thing and promised to return the next day. 3 days later I gave up and found someone else. Considering I had a fully blocked line and two children under 3 in the house I was not pleased with their unprompt service. I would not recommend using them in the future.

Yelp has never failed me and once again, it led me to a wonderful company such as Baltimore Sewer Services, especially during an emergency. During this visit, Jason and Phillip had to battle a sewage pipe that hasn't been cleaned in over 20 years and was 100% backup. If I could give Jason and Phillip 10 stars, I would! Service that Jason provided was professional, courteous, and exceptional.

First of all, Jason really listened to what I have to say. I told him that I did snake thing and got nowhere. Instantly he told me that I need a water jet (PLUS) but he wants to come out in person to give me a free consultation. (PLUS PLUS). Even though it is a big task, Jason put my parents' worries at ease by giving them a 100% working guarantee. (PLUS PLUS PLUS) Jason and Phillip brought in the machine and went to work for 3 hours. Throughout the process, they provide constant feedback and update. (PLUS PLUS PLUS PLUS) Then, they cleaned up and left for a few hours to let the chemical solution do its work and fully clean out the pipe. At 10PM!, Jason and Phillip stopped by and finished the job. (PLUS PLUS PLUS PLUS PLUS) Thank you Jason and Phillip for a job well done!

On a side note, before I called Jason, we had the very unpleasant experience of calling a Roto-Rooter Plumber. Before the plumber started working, I told him about our drain issue but he didn't listen and insisted that he can fix the issue and gave us a guarantee of 30 days. Otherwise he would not charge us. After spending 20 minutes and could not fix the issue, he recommend someone to do the job and will only charge us half of what he quoted. Not only he could not fix the issue but he tried to con us into paying. What a useless company. That is why it is so hard to find a good company that you can trust. Take my word, you can definitely trust Baltimore Sewer Services to do a good job!

""I have now used Jason twice to save me from clogged main sewer lines. The first time my toilet stopped flushing. You know that awful, pit in the stomach feeling you get when your plumbing stops working? I was so worried about what it was going to cost me, how long it was going to take to get someone out to my house, whether they would show up or not after I had taken the day off from work to be there. I got online and started my search. After about 6 phone calls, all ranging from quotes of minimum of $300 to ""we have to come out first to see the problem before we can quote a price"" I got Jason on the phone. First off, he answered the phone himself, that was the first biggie. Second he quoted me $75 right off the bat. No pre-inspection, no possible other charges tacked on. Straight forward price for service. We set up a date (it was within 2 days of my call) and then....he SHOWED UP when he said he would, did what he said he would do (my toilet flushes beautifully now) and charged exactly what he said he would charge....$75!!! I've used his services again on a rental property. Same thing, clogged sewer line. Only this time Jason couldn't come out because he had another job...so he sent me someone else!!! A great guy, professional, helpful, showed up when he said he would and charged me.....$75!!!! I will continue to call Jason first and use the services of his company. I am very grateful to have found him.""

There's nothing quite as devastating as waking up one morning to backed up toilets and showers....and then being told by a plumber that your sewer line has collapsed and that your entire front yard needs to be dug up to have the line repaired to the tune of a lot of money....The worst part is we had just moved into our home 2 months prior.
My husband did some research and learned about ""Trenchless sewer line replacement"". A method that allows for pipes to be repaired without the yard dig up.
Into the picture came Baltimore Sewer Services.
Jason came out the next day to evaluate our situation. With the original prognosis, we would still be without water until NEXT Friday (this all began one week ago today). Instead, Jason's team came out the day after the evaluation and began the process. It would have been done in a single day, but weather and some unfortunate problems prevented that from happening. Instead, it was all done in under 3 days.
The cost to do this was substantially less, not to mention that we won't have to re-landscape our entire front yard either.

Had a great experience with this company. I needed to replace a hot water heater in my rental property in Federal Hill. Jason and another member of his team showed up at 4, accessed the repair and the job was done by 6:30 the SAME day. If you are looking for plumbing services, I high recommend this company and will use them again.

Had non flushable wipes and tampons clogging my main home sewage line (yikes!) to the street in Towson, Maryland and they came within hours to run their metal sewer snake and unclog it! Very professional and reliable. Will use again if another sewage crisis occurs!
