Recommended Customer Reviews

Gross unprofessional employee behavior in a public setting.
I was nearly t-boned by this individual (see picture) this morning in an Encinitas parking lot, near Lazy Acres. Reading similar reviews about this company regarding their employees littering, speeding and generally being unsafe, I'm not shocked.
After my complete stop at the posted Stop sign, I proceeded into the intersection while this individual performed a brake-tap at their posted Stop sign, then blew threw it attempting to beat me into the exit-way intersection (all traffic was stopped at a red light - so this juvenile maneuver made even less sense). After performing this antic, the classless individual then began yelling out the window, making motions as if they wanted to fight, a show of removing their seatbelt, and opened their truck door as if to exit for a confrontation.
I'm active-duty military, was in uniform, am a former college football lineman, and do not suffer fools gladly, especially bullish behavior; I'm sure it's not the first time this amateurish employee of Gus Ballas Plumbing tried these intimidation shenanigans. I, too, proceeded to get out, to take a photo, which sent said employee retreating into their vehicle, yet who spinelessly continued to publicly yell out of their window referring to me, a noticeably uniformed member, as a ""f'ing bit#h"" and ""loser.""
Well done, Gus Ballas Plumbing, keep racking up these types of reviews as you clearly have some upstanding employees! With this sort of reputation, I can't imagine the unprofessional stupidities which would occur if using this business for plumbing.

I came here to simply get the contact number for the company but decided to just post to reiterate that quality plumbing does not negate your responsibility to be a safe member of our society. Here we are, years after the first posted complaint of of unsafe driving and still no improvement. I'm driving down Palmerado and this guy, in a Ballas Gus truck is flying down the road weaving in and out of traffic. I took note because he didn't only almost run into the back end of me at a stop light but then promptly sped around me at the first chance almost hitting the front end of my car to cut me off then running a red light. Oddly, he didn't end up too far ahead because I was able to see him turn off of Palmerado onto Nacido Dr., just north of the Sprouts. Middle age, very light skinned Caucasian man, stereotypical plumber build, very light or gray hair. I could pick him out of a line up. I wonder if this is the same guy this company has allowed to represent them all these years. They're lucky he didn't hit me and my children, I would have owned the business at that point.

A good friend recommended Mark Cote from Gus Ballas Plumbing when I had a water leak in the garage. He was wonderful! He really took the time to explain the repair and possible challenges given the age of my home. He was very knowledgeable and professional. The bill was fair and the work was done well.

If their work is anything like their driving, stay away from this company. 45 mph down a residential street all day every day. Would never hire this company.

Sitting in a Parking lot when, when one of the workers pulled up next to me and then proceeded to throw his trash out of the window, after he had finished eating. Lic#300184

One of the employees for this business was on an absolute rampage on Miramar Road today, going over 100mph in a 45zone and cutting myself and about 10 other people off. Slow down! Getting to a plumbing job 3 minutes early is not worth crushing someone while going 100mph in a 7000lb work truck.

Been using Gus Ballas for years, specifically Mark who handles a lot of their residential work. As good as it gets quality wise. Not cheap at $85 an hour, but you get good reliable work done well and quickly. I'm a fan.

You will not find someone whom is more well knowledge then Gus Plumbling. They do not do TV advertising, so they are able to keep the prices lower than most of the competition. I have been using their services for 17 plus years. Mainly because I was introduced to them by a lot of wrong phone calls. My home phone number is one digit off from Gus Plumbling. But, if someone leaves a message for Gus Plumbimg, I always call them and relayed the message to the plumber. People please do not be upset when I say, you got the wrong number while your building is flooding with water.

I would recommend this company to everyone. We have worked with them many different times. Mark is the service tech and he always gets back to us within an hour. We have had faucets leaks, bathroom floods and toilet drips. We have used them from Santee to Carmel Valley and Mark is always right on! Honest and fair priced, what more can you ask for?

Gus Ballas seems to be primarily an installer of big industrial plumbing systems. I've never used them for that, but have used them for leaks, broken plumbing fixtures and failed water heater replacements. Their one and only service tech, Mark, is excellent. He is probably the most competent plumber I have met....and I've met a few.
Gus Ballas Plumbing is not bottom basement priced, but they are extremely fair. Mark will get to the problem quickly and fix it right. The biggest drawback is them only having 1 service tech. Therefore you can't be certain on any given day how soon they'll be out. But if you've got a tough problem or a job you NEED to be done right the first time, I would highly recommend Gus Ballas!
