Unfortunately, I called Balkan's service twice on Sunday May 20th at
9 pm and 10:30pm for a clogged sewer line and was told a technician would get back to me but NEVER did. Finally after waiting to 1AM I called another service and they made an appt with me and was earlier than expected. They did a great job for a fair price.
Would not recommend Balkan based on lack of reliability.

This is the fourth review I've taken the time to write on this New Year Eve to thank George of Joseph Balkan Inc for all the time he put in over two days to fix a very complex indoor plumbing issue we were experiencing. George is dedicated to each of the customers he is assigned and won't give up just because the job is complicated. If anything he becomes even more determined to fix it! George is thoughtful and kind believing that each person is important. George is a good communicator taking the time to explain the situation and being honest at all times. He isn't about telling you he will get to you in an hour when he know he is still working on a job and the travel time is at least an hour. If George works for Joseph Balkan Inc I'm certain there must be others like him with the company. You won't be disappointed and if anything your faith will be renewed by such a hardworking and experienced professional.

I just want to say that George from Balkan Plumbing is the very best. My family and I recently moved to a new house in Queens this year. We are the second family living in this new house. Even though this house is new, the previous owner failed to tell us that the basement floods when it rain. And boy did it flood! I can't begin to tell you how much water was getting inside the basement when it rained. We were afraid that our furniture was going to get damaged in our finished basements. We previously called another plumbing/sewage company but after coming by twice and charging an excessive amount of money our basement was still flooding.

George from Balkan Plumbing came to my house quickly and thoroughly addressed the issue. He simulated a rain storm by using two water hoses to run water through two separate outdoor drains. We then started to learn how the water was getting into the basement. SOMETHING THAT THE PREVIOUS PLUMBER DIDN'T BOTHER DOING. He then SNAKED the basement floor drains and explained what he was doing as he worked. Again, SOMETHING THAT the previous company didn't do. George even told us that as a customer we had a right to a copy of the video that this previous plumber took when they were looking inside our drains. I called the office of this previous plumber and was told that they didn't have it... so what the heck did I pay for then? George snaked the basement floor storm drains and found pieces of broken metal and other debris AND SHOWED it to us. We watched what he did beginning to end AND he explained what he did in our basement.

George from Balkan Plumbing did an exceptional job and was very detailed. I must say that it rained recently and our basement didn't get flooded at all! Thanks to George our basement doesn't flood anymore. We are very happy with he service. He was very polite and funny as well! Great personality! We will definitely call HIM again if we ever need a plumber! Thanks George from Balkan Plumbing!

This company sounds very nice and professional over the phone but was supposed to come and didn't show up. Then I called again, the guy promised me he will come tomorrow and didn't show up then for 3rd time I called, he promised to come the same evening and didn't come.
Very disappointing and very unreliable.

This company is the best if you have a broken water main or sewer. I call them and in two days they fix the problem. One day they fix the pipe and the next day they will put everything back just like nothing happened. Will use them in the future. The company have a very friendly and experience workers.

We moved into an old house in Brooklyn just 6 months ago. We've been having a sewer line drainage problem every time it rains. Without hesitation, George came to our house to analyze what could be going on. George is an excellent problem solver and patiently stayed at our house looking at every single pipe, pitch, connection, route, etc. that could be causing a back flow. He took time to explain how everything worked and where he saw plumbing issues. He is amazing! We couldn't believe how patient and knowledgeable he is along with his willingness to figure out how to resolve the problem and explain what we needed to do next. You could clearly see how professionalism, passion for this job, and customer service meant so much to him. This company's willingness to diagnose and give an estimate at no charge is worth calling them 100%. Besides, they are thoughtful and not looking to take your money for any reason--in other words, honest. Thank you, George.... and John (back at the office).

We had an incredibly positive experience with this company. But first, I want to thank everyone here who took the time to write reviews. It was the reviews that led me to choose this company.

For years I have known our sewer wasn't quite right. I called a well-known plumbing company in Forest Hills to come take a look. Well, all they did was flush the toilet and said there was no problem. But I could tell that the toilet was not flushing quite the way it used to. They shrugged their shoulders and left.

Over the years, the problem stayed the same. Then yesterday we had a bigger problem. And the system backed up into the shower. I had that horrible feeling that a pipe might be broken. I imagined my lawn being dug up and money pouring out of our checking account. But it is the holiday weekend so we figured that maybe someone would come on Wednesday.

Well, much to our happy surprise, Balkan sent their man Javed here within 20 minutes of calling them today, Monday, the day before July 4th. Javed worked on the sewer to clear it, explained the problem and put on a new cap. From his point of view, this wasn't really work. And since it was the July 4th weekend he just wanted to wish us a happy one and be on his way ... no bill! I almost fainted. We paid him of course. We insisted. But let me tell you, he restored my faith in humanity today with his expertise and kindness. He said if we need anything else, to just call and they'll take care of it. This company specializes in sewer issues. From my experience, and the reviews, I believe you can use them with total confidence.
