Let me preface this by saying that I don't really trust most contractors, it takes some work to win me over. A year ago, Paul roughed in the plumbing for our half-bath, moved our old water heater (without breaking it), and neatened up some messy, ugly plumbing for a small laundry room. It was a tricky job with old pipes in weird places. He and his associates did an amazing job. They were reliable, showing up when they said they would; knowledgeable, coaching me on how to properly install the hardware, and completing their work in the timeframe they estimated. I loved that Paul installed a brace for my sink - refusing to allow me to anchor it to the drywall as the sink instructions suggested. :)He could have just let me crash and burn with that one. Through our conversations and this experience, I learned that Paul is a very likable, responsible, ethical, and hardworking individual.

I was on a tight budget. Plumbing is never cheap, but Paul's cost estimates were accurate, and final pricing was equal to or less than his estimates. In addition, what he estimated matched estimates I had received from other plumbers. A year later and everything works beautifully. I will definitely call these guys back for any future plumbing work.

The good: they promptly came out to give an estimate for a small job.
The bad: estimate was over $500 for a project the guy said would take less than 2 hours... I didn't know plumbers made $250 an hour. Second time I've had them out to bid projects, both times they were overpriced...there won't be a third.

As other people have noted here, it is challenging to find capable, honest servicemen these days, but Paul at Balanced Plumbing fits the bill. Our issue was that our 32-year old water heater finally went to water heater heaven. We called Paul on a Sunday morning, and he was at the house within two hours. He is knowledgeable, hard-working, and just an all-around nice person. He replaced our water heater the next day, and did so efficiently, while leaving our basement tidy, and even disposing of our archaic, broken water heater. And all at a fair price. I highly recommend him.

This is a professional company that does everything possible to answer your questions and fix the problem that day. Proves sometimes best companys are hidden in small towns. Paul came into my house and went threw all my concerns and answered everything very professionally. Fixed my problems the same day. He has a great personality and easy to talk to.
