I recently called this company to help my mother with stopped up plumbing. I was told 2 prices on the phone for the specific job to be done. Expecting to pay the higher price for what the job entailed, they charged my mother 50% more than the higher amount. I questioned the charge and was told ""don't worry, I'm not trying to get you"". I told him I was questioning the charge being different than what I was quoted on the phone and because mom is on a fixed budget and I need to keep an eye on things for her. I called their office the next day, on a Friday, and was told I would get a call back Monday. Not hearing anything back I called them. They had not looked into it yet. I asked for the boss to call me back, that didn't happen, the lady in the office called me back. When I got a call back I was told that they were charging her for the hour it took (which included 10 minutes for writing up the invoice), and half an hour for drive time. I was not told about this drive time before hand. The service man said he started the drive time 15 minutes before he got there, yet he charge a half an hour of time. I was told he didn't charge for gas, tools, the time it took him to get to his next stop... really ?... I would warn anyone to be sure you get a written estimate before you agree to anything and before you hire this company, If they will take advantage of an elderly lady on a fixed income, what else might they do.

The following replaces my concern regarding an exhorbitant fee.

On 4/11, much to my surprise, because I had made many attempts to speak to the owner regarding the bill without any response, I received a check apparently acknowledging my complaint in the amount of $98.00. I still have no idea why the owner never contacted me; as when disputes are amicably settled, the parties are generally comfortable to utilize that company's service as previous fees (for the past 10 years) have been quite satisfactory. However, I still maintain this particular plumber/employee really didn't know what he was up against, hence the exorbitant bill. Note: there is not, nor has been in the past, anything wrong or faulty with their work performed. Ultimately, the partial refund is appreciated. The bottom line, therefor, DO consider Bakersfield Plumbing Company for any plumbing needs, without hesitation or concern about the job. You won't be disappointed in the quality of the work.

Called them out on a Saturday and thought this was a great company since they were working normal hours on Saturday. The technician had trouble clearing the drain and said that he would be back on Monday with a camera to examine the line. Monday came and no contact so I called they refused to come out and use a camera. I guess they only want easy jobs not jobs that actually take skill and expertise in the work. Also not LGBT friendly do not recommend avoid at all cost.

These guys are great! They have all the newest high tech tools, skilled workers and very knowledgeable. I had a couple other companies out to my commercial property that was having some issues, neither company could figure out the problem but charged me plenty. A friend recommended Bakersfield Plumbing because of their equipment and knowledge. Tony the owner came out along with his foreman and in no time found the problem. We scheduled it and it was repaired perfectly and quickly. I would recommend Bakersfield Plumbing for any plumbing problems.

Alex came out after hours on a Friday evening and diagnosed our plumbing problem. Alex promised to return first thing on Saturday to fix the situation.
Alex showed up as promised, took care of the problem and charged a very reasonable fee.

I had wanted to install risers on our septic tanks and Alex quoted a very fair price for that work to be done.
Liberty Plumbing's crew did a great job - they arrived on time, did the job and cleaned up beautifully when they finished their work.

I had written my check for too much and Alex handed it back to me immediately for correction.
Great integrity!

My house is around 60 years old and had some water/draining issues. We decided to finally repipe (water and waste) the whole house and decided to go with Bakersfield plumbing. The whole process was great! The guys were very polite, very professional, and kept me updated on the progress. It took a little longer than they estimated, but that was due to one of the guys getting sick and seeing a doctor.

Would definitely recommend these guys if anyone is needing to repipe! It feels like I have a new house!

I have had two experiences with Bakersfield Plumbing both of which were positive. Recently, I had a pinhole leak in my copper water line and of course it happened on a Saturday late afternoon. I called them and they send a man out with an hour, repair the pinhole leak and only charge me $140. The other time they Replaced a toilet that was leaking. They came out made the repair and did not overcharge me. I would highly recommend Bakersfield Plumbing due to their fast response and fair pricing.
Update May 2019; I decided to replace all of my water lines. Although costly to do my old water pipes were starting to get leaks and didn't want to have a major flood. Bakersfield Pluming did the work. As usual they did a great job.

Hard pass from me

I've got a job I need done at a house I recently purchased so I've been calling around to plumbers to get quotes. I called these guys to add them to the short list of companies I want a bid from, they couldn't come out for almost a week and it's a $45 estimate fee just to send someone out to look and give a quote. No other company I've spoken to or had come out already charged a fee just to look and quote a price, hard pass.

Excellent customer service. They replaced my hot water line to my water heater the service tech was very professional. I would recommend their work.

This was my best experience with a plumber by far! First of all, I called about 5 other plumbers before this one that had better reviews on Yelp. All the other ones couldn't get me in that day, even though they say they're 24/7 service. When I called, a lady named Sharon said that she might not be able to get me during the regular business hours, but would be willing to see if any of their guys were done with some jobs and take on mine. It was almost 4, business hours end at 5. Business hours are $95/hr and after hours is $135. I asked her if she could see what she can do. A few minutes later she said she could have someone out in 10 minutes. When the guy arrived, he was super nice and was quick to solve the problem. He even finished the job I started, replacing a faucet. I have some other jobs I would possibly like done and asked him how easily it would be done. He gave advice on what they'd have to do for the jobs. I was so happy with their service, I will definitely be working with them again!
