Hard pass from me

I've got a job I need done at a house I recently purchased so I've been calling around to plumbers to get quotes. I called these guys to add them to the short list of companies I want a bid from, they couldn't come out for almost a week and it's a $45 estimate fee just to send someone out to look and give a quote. No other company I've spoken to or had come out already charged a fee just to look and quote a price, hard pass.

Excellent customer service. They replaced my hot water line to my water heater the service tech was very professional. I would recommend their work.

This was my best experience with a plumber by far! First of all, I called about 5 other plumbers before this one that had better reviews on Yelp. All the other ones couldn't get me in that day, even though they say they're 24/7 service. When I called, a lady named Sharon said that she might not be able to get me during the regular business hours, but would be willing to see if any of their guys were done with some jobs and take on mine. It was almost 4, business hours end at 5. Business hours are $95/hr and after hours is $135. I asked her if she could see what she can do. A few minutes later she said she could have someone out in 10 minutes. When the guy arrived, he was super nice and was quick to solve the problem. He even finished the job I started, replacing a faucet. I have some other jobs I would possibly like done and asked him how easily it would be done. He gave advice on what they'd have to do for the jobs. I was so happy with their service, I will definitely be working with them again!

I did not have a good experience with Bakersfield plumbing. First, we asked our rental agency to send someone to fix a leak under the kitchen sink. They came out and said they needed to order a part. It took a month before they came back. Meanwhile the wood under the sink got all damp and damaged.
Second, we asked them to come repair a toilet that was running. They came once to ""fix"" it, but we had them come back because it was doing the same thing. The second time they put on a new handle and tank. Unfortunately it still kept running AND the handle wasn't screwed on properly AND he left the chain too long so the only way we could flush it was to hold the handle down or take the lid of the tank off. The last two problems led to the brand new handle breaking. They came out a 3rd time and replaced the handle and shortened the chain. Finally, it stopped running! Then, we get a bill from our rental agency saying that the plumber determined that the handle was broken by force and saying we had to pay the $100 bill. Ridiculous!

I will never do business with them again.

This is the first time using this company and I am so happy. They are just like everyone said they would be. Reasonable, polite, professional, and no surprises when they hand you the bill. Justin and Gunner are who came out today, and I was even surprised by that because usually when you call a plumber its just one guy. I live in a 1930's home and that didn't phase them because they are trained for such things. I guess I know who I will always be calling from now on. They know what they are doing and charge just right, and 110 years in business comes shining through with honesty and gold.

Another positive review for Bakersfield Plumbing. I tried to remove and replace a 15 year old Delta shower faucet cartridge, but the cartridge was stuck from calcium and broke apart when I tried to pull it out. Knew I should have waited until Monday so I wouldn't have to pay after hours charges if got so bad I couldn't fix it. Because it's the shower faucet, I had to turn off the water to the entire house, and it was broken to the point I couldn't turn the water back on. I called Bakersfield Plumbing based on our last positive experience with them. They arrived within the hour and had it back up and running also within an hour. Justin did a great job. Even though I paid more than I wanted to for the service call, it was on a Sunday and the rates were reasonable enough for after hours calls. Will continue to use them for things I can't do myself.

My sprinkler pipe broke and a very nice young man by the name of Gunner came out and fixed it for me. He was courteous and did an excellent job. He was neat and left everything cleaned up when he left. I commend this nice young man.

We just moved into a new house that we bought and of course half of the plumbing was plugged up. So the search was on to find the company do you work. As I searched I came across Bakersfield plumbing which had a large number of reviews and good ones. They have been in business for a long time so therefore must be doing something right.
I gave them a call and the technician was able to come out fairly quick and take a look at my problem. He decided it was best to come back The next day when he could really work on it. They had it taken care of within the hour and my problem was solved.

They charged my daughter $285 for a toilet flange repair. In October of 2015 they did the same job for me for $110. When I complained a supervisor told me my plumber made a mistake and I was lucky I only paid the $110. I question his veracity because the $110 price was quoted to me before the plumber arrived. Initially, I was happy with their service. Based on my latest encounter, I will not use or recommend them again.
