A/C stopped working after a power outage. As a Family Plan member we called Baker Brothers to come and diagnose the issue.
First response was from an electrical technician. As predicted, we have a house built in the 80's and it is old and needs lots of electrical work.. Long list of "suggestions" provided for future projects. After 1 or 2 hours it was determined that the A/C unit was the issue and A/C technicians would be contacted to come.
After another 4 hours or more an A/C technician showed up.. Marc seemed to know what he was doing and pulled apart the A/C unit to find the issue of the condenser being fried and needing to be replaced. It was just before 10pm when he finished up and came to tell us the bad news.. He said he needed to do some warranty research and would be able to provide us a quote on a replacement or cost of a new A/C unit..
We chose the option of a replacement condenser and then waited again for contact. By noon of the next day I had to call Baker Brothers to ask if there was an issue or if it was possible to perform needed work.. We were never contacted with quotes of prices on a new unit or what other options were available.
Finally ended up contacting another company for a 2nd opinion. Came in with a quote for a new unit that was much lower..

Called Baker Brotjers today for an electrical issue. They came out same day and accommodated my crazy schedule. The technician "Victor" was outstanding!!!! He went above and beyond to ensure all my issues were handled and offered preventative suggestions with no pressure at all. I did not taken him up on he extra suggestions, yet he still spent hours making sure all my items were handled perfectly and explained each and every issue in detail. I highly recommend this company. And use "Victor" for electrical is possible!!!

The temp on my house was 98 degrees due to my air going out. I contacted Baker Brothers since I have their family plan
The first tech was either very dumb or a crook for Baker. First, he said one small part needed to be replaced. After going to his truck and calling in he then came back and said my compressor was shot and there was no electricity getting to my unit.
Then Baker had someone come out to write up an estimate for THOUSANDS of dollars without a report from the first tech.
Not trusting Baker, I had someone else come out. He replaced one little part within 10 minutes and my air was fixed. He said my system is old and I need to get it replaced and I will work with him to replace it. I DO NOT TRUST BAKER BROS.
I will contact the company to cancel my family plan and will never do business with the company again. I'll also post my experience and tell everyone I know about it and not do business with this company

Horrible customer service. They do not value their customer's time. After 4 separate failed attempts to replace a thermostat on a Trane central heat and air system that is only 5 years old. We were told by a quality control manager that the next tech would be a quality control tech to replace both the relay panel and thermostat. The tech that showed up was not set up to succeed and was given 0 support from his team. He was not a quality control tech, nor was he even informed of the issue at hand. He did not have any of the parts with him that the QC manager told us he would bring to replace. It was a complete wast of my families time that we scheduled for this maintenance. Waste of the techs time. Worst of all, he could not even give us answers on when they could install the parts or come back. He said his team had no answers for him? I called and asked to speak to a manager and was told they'll have to return my call. I now sit here wondering if anyone will call me and when a 6th Bakers Brothers visit will occur, all simply to replace a thermostat that is under warranty. I being a customer service and sales person by trade would never dream off treating either my customer or technicians so poorly. I could never in good conscience recommend Bakers Brothers to anyone.

Tech as professional and I got an appointment within 24hrs. There was a pipe that needed to be tighten, tech was here for 10-15 mins and I was charged a diagnostic fee of $160. This is excessive, given the am't of work and time.

Do not use Baker Brothers for AC repairs. We had them come out cause are AC was making a loud sound when it would turn off and on. The person that came out was more interested in selling us a new unit and telling us how ours was ready to break down any day and wasn't sure how much longer it would last. We couldn't afford a new one so he did some maintenance on it and charged us over $900. When you are desperate and someone tells you your AC is on the brink, you fork out what you can to keep it going as long as you can. Well in a month it wasn't working at all so I found another wonderful company that came out and told us all it needed was a new fan and that's why it was making the loud noises. Baker Brothers never even mentioned the fan. He kept telling how bad our unit was and all the other issues. This other company said the opposite. Said everything was working well, just the fan needed replaced. So please, do not get Baker Brothers to do any repairs for you. Just a big money hungry company. And don't believe that they have over 14,000 reviews! Sad that we as consumers have to deal with these companies trying to rip us off.

We have cooling issues upstairs that may be duct related but we wanted an assessment from a professional as to why our 2 year old unit still has problems effectively cooling the three bedrooms. My wife made an online appointment for today 12p-6p, a huge window. I called them at 230p to confirm the appointment and was told they would be there after 12p, but didn't know when. I received a text at 341p asking me to confirm the appointment via text. After nobody showed or called about a delay, I called Baker Bros and they said the tech was not enroute and the latest was 5-7p, which the office should have updated me. The office lady could not give me a good reason why the tech or they didn't update me and they wasted an entire afternoon with me waiting for them in vain. Everyone has a cell phone and it takes little time to inform the customer when falling behind or possibly reschedule. I should have known with such a large 6 hour window to begin with, the subject of SNL skits. Having read some other reviews here, this type of thing happens a lot, and they also seem to match the stereotype of a dishonest appliance firm as they overcharge and keep ignorant people in the dark to complete their scam. Their advertising boasts great service. My rear end!!!!

Our ac went out 2 months after we purchased it. It happened on a Saturday morning of Mother's day weekend. The weekend was ruined. We spent almost $20,000 for the best unit. We had to wait until Monday for a repairman to come out. He FINALLY arrived at 9:30 pm.
Absolutely ridiculous! It was a problem with a drainage pan that was installed on the wrong side. I THOUGHT this was a reputable company but We are sorry we chose them.

30,000$. Got your attention? Paid this out of pocket and it led to more issues. They have lied to me, they broke things, they will not send the necessary documents to my insurance as I was told they would. I could write forever but I don't want to waste my fingers on a keyboard for them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
