Bahama Plumbing

We had a pin-hole leak in an upstairs pipe. After reading the reviews on Yelp and calling around, we thought that we would give Bahama Plumbing a try. The plumber that they dispatched was professional enough. He flashed us his license and proceeded to tell us that he couldn't begin the 'discovery' process until we had signed to allow him to cut into the wall.
Alright. That's not unusual. We asked if he had a moisture detector, or sonic detector, or any of the modern methods of detecting a leak. He answered 'No, I have to look at the pipes.'
He then proceeded to cut THREE large holes into the wall without finding a pipe behind them, before I stopped him and pointed to the clearly visible pipe running up from the water heater below.
He cut the 4th hole and 'discovered' the copper pipe. Fourth hole's the charm I suppose...
This pipe was clearly and obviously leaking, so there was no mystery as to what needed to be done. However, how he proceeded to 'fix' the pipe was so unprofessional that I would have expected if from a DIYer, not a licensed plumber.
He used a SAWZALL to remove the pipe instead of a pipe cutter. The entire wall shook and we were worried about leaks forming in other locations. After he had removed the damaged section, he replaced our copper pipe with cheap PEX pipe. He clamped it in place explaining that it would be too difficult to solder a copper pipe (isn't that what plumbers do?) and that plastic is better anyway.
Well, I don't know about that, but as soon as he was done and told us to turn the water back on, his PEX job started leaking from the places he had clamped it to the copper. He had to rip it out AGAIN and try the whole thing over again, before it finally stopped leaking.
In conclusion, the professional demeanor of the plumber was the only thing that I can say was to his credit. I could have punched 3 random holes in the wall, hacksawed everything apart and put it back together with plastic.
Not worth the $600 and I won't ever use Bahama Plumbing again.

These guys worked through the worst freeze that we've ever had here in Texas. When I asked them why they were out driving in those dangerous conditions, Aaron said, "because people need us."
We had a pipe that froze up and busted. These guys got it fixed and gave us recommendations on what to do in the future.
What an amazing company. They truly care about the people. Aaron and Bobby fixed our issue and were very professional! I highly recommend them for all your plumbing needs!!
