I recently called McDonough to inquire about replacing my water heater. It wasn't broken, but was about 10 years old. They came out immediately and gave me a free estimate. Judging from other estimates owners of similar condos have gotten, the price was fair. I went ahead and got the water heater. Both guys they sent (one for the free estimate and one to install the heater were seasoned and knew what they were doing. The City came out to inspect. It took less than 5 minutes and they approved it I would highly recommend them.

We had them come over to give us an estimate for a water shut off valve. The guy answered our questions and wanted to see the the best way to access where to install valve. He used a small handsaw and it took him less than 2 minutes to cut a piece of drywall. We had another estimate done and then decided to go with McDonough. Imagine our surprise when they finished the valve work and we got charged $98 for a service call for them to give us an estimate, on top of the $400 to install a new valve. I spoke to Chuck, whom I'm guessing is the owner, and he said when they pull out tools during an estimate then they charge a service call. We never asked them to do this, we wouldn't even know to ask them to do this, but instead the plumber asked if it was okay if he cut a piece of the drywall. It would have been nice if the guy doing the estimate would have told us we will be charged for a service call if he does this. Very dishonest on their part.

Visiting mom. She needed faucet repairs. The guy overcharged us and cheated us out of the faucet spray. Never use this company! Had to have other plumbing work down. McDonough estimate was $1500 for hot water heater alone. Got both hot water heater AND new garbage disposal for $1300 from Minuteman!!! Great quality. Use them instead!

I had two toilets leaking that needed new seals. Looked to see if I could do this myself and decided to give them a call. I first asked about the charges.. I was quoted $98 for a service call [30 min] then $128 thereafter. Why would anyone call a plumber without knowing what they charge? Sounded fair to me. I asked them when they could do the job and they had a qualified plumber arrive at my home within an hour. The job was done quickly and both toilets now work as new. Net charge $166 including $36 for parts.. After watching how to replace the seals I believe the $166 charge was very fair. I would use them again if needed. Capt Ron, Punta Gorda FL
