We had Babbitt's come out to look at our hot water heater as it was not working and was still under warranty. They were able to let us know what was wrong with the unit but then told us that the whole thing needed to be replaced and tried to scare us into purchasing a new unit because the one we had was in such bad condition. We decided to have a second opinion from someone we trusted and upon a closed look, all that needed to be done was a simple wire replacement. Other than that our unit was in good shape. He did agree with Babbitt's that the overflow tank would need to be replaced in the next 6 months but that we were in no danger, as was implied by the technician from Babbitt's. I may be a woman but I am smart enough to check when people are overselling me something. I would be wary if you have service done by Babbitt's and they try to sell you a replacement. Get a second opinion.

Excellent service. Called in the morning, had same day availability, fixed by dinner time. I shorted out my HVAC unit trying to upgrade my thermostat, I'm embarrassed to say. After troubleshooting I still couldn't figure it out, so called the electrician. When he showed up and diagnosed, he saw I was pretty disappointed in myself that it was now going to cost me over a hundred dollars to replace a fuse and properly install two thermostats. Oh well; new homeowner, live and learn. He knew it was pretty ridiculous to charge full price for installing a couple thermostats and replacing a fuse, so he only charged me a flat rate and saved me nearly $200. He even diagnosed a leak in my HVAC drain and told me how to fix it. Highly recommended, honest repairman.

We had an issue with our hot water heater. We called and Babbits sent out their two guys. They looked and proceeded to share with us how we were lucky the hot water heater had not exploded through our roof and even though it was a bad wire they highly recommend us purchasing a new hot water heater from them. Our hot water heater was still under warranty for all parts. They proceeded to explain how parts for our hot water heater not local so it would be awhile before parts would ship in unless we wanted to pay exuberant shipping fee so they recommended replacing entire hot water heater of course from Babbits. We called got a second opinion from a competitor and all that was actually needed was a wire to be replaced that can be found at any hardware store. We will not be calling Babbits again. Always get a second opinion especially when scare tactics are being used. I'm giving one star because they did come promptly got the scheduled appointment time.

Our bath tub was leaking. We called Babbitt plumbing to come look at it. We were told that they could fix it. They stated how much it would cost. They told us it would be cheaper if we bought the bath tub, so we did. They also advised us to go buy a piece of plywood for the sub floor we did. 3 years later, we still cannot use our new bathtub, we still have a hole in our ceiling because we are scared it will leak again. We have called several times, they came out and try to fix it. We have left messages for the owner, still waiting. Around $6,000 later still no call back and still can't use the tub.
