Anna C.Yeah it sounds like I had the same experience as the review done by TG. As soon as the young guys walked in the House I asked how much it was going to be they told me 175 an hour they were here for two hours.... they took an hour to go get a part which usually takes me 15 minutes. Now I do claims and I've been to George Morlan multiple times so I know exactly how long this takes and how much I should be charged. They kept saying the boss told me how much to charge. They tried adding different things at the end and how they got to 525 I told him point-blank no way I will pay you for two hours of your time and the part. And I will never use them in the future this was supposed to be a business relationship to use them in the future I don't think so.......My instincts say that they are not trustworthy. Plus on the way and they were whispering to each other... Not professional people at all
Ryan R.I have worked with a great number of contractors over the years, and I consider B&G to be the most professional, courteous, fair and responsive of them all. They recently did the plumbing work for our new bathroom, replaced our sanitary sewer line and repaved our driveway - all in the span of about a week and a half while juggling numerous other jobs.
In particular, my family and I were in a sewer emergency, and B&G came right out, we discussed options, decided on a course of action and they were literally digging the trench for the new sewer 10 minutes later. With a crew of a dozen people working on it the remainder of the day, we had a functioning sewer that night. The price was also super reasonable, to the point where I didn't even bother with other bids.
One thing I really like about B&G is the teaching and mentorship that is constantly going on between Bobo, the owner, his senior crew leads and the junior staff. Yesterday we had B&G out for a small job and I asked the two guys how they like working for Bobo and one of them didn't even hesitate: ""Best boss ever, and it's not even close"". Personally I really like supporting businesses that support young people developing skills that they can put to work supporting themselves and their families. Clearly for Bobo, it isn't just about making money or delivering a good product. It's about giving something back, too.
Simply put, I can not recommend B&G highly enough.
B&G plumbing has saved me twice in emergency plumbing situations. A few years ago I had a water main break in my front yard, they were able to get out and repair the break after hours for a reasonable amount. Yesterday, I had a contractor break a pipe in my crawlspace. They were at my house in 30 minutes and had the pipe repaired in very little time. Their restoration team moved in next to clean up and dry out the space. I can't say enough about how responsive and profession Bobo and his crew!
the handle on my walk in tub broke and the company is in new jersey I called B&G based on george Morlans recommendation..two young guys showed up and admitted they knew nothing about walk in tubs but their parts guy knew alot. with his help they put together a new hot water faucet handle...it works perfectly!!! better than the original. They were prompt they had good help and they managed to fix something when I had no hope!!! I think they deserve a kudos for problem solving their parts man needs a raise and the company was the right choice for me I know if the cold water faucet handle breaks where to go for help...thank you guys again!!!
These guys are a scam. First came to my house for a bid from an inspection report to look at a leaking pipe. At no point in our conversation was it ever made clear that there would be a charge for them coming out to look at this. At the end, they diagnosed the problem, wrote an estimate and charged me $175. When I had them come out to do the work, they were late. When they did show up, the new person that showed up said there's no reason to replace that pipe because it isn't leaking. ""Bobo said it need to be replaced!"" hollered a guy from the van. At this point they realized they didn't have the right parts. So they left for another 30 min. They returned to complete the job. Upon completion, they had to call Bobo to see what it cost to do the job. $750. I mentioned that I had already paid the $175 for them to come out, so it should be $575. They had to call Bobo to make sure that was ok, even though I'm holding the original receipt in my hand. Bobo says it's ok to take the $175 off, so I go inside to get my payment. When I return it's actually $605 because I had to pay $30 for parts...So I guess the total was actually $780? Why wouldn't Bobo have just told them that from the beginning? I was really hoping to find a plumber that could count on and call whenever I need something. These are not the guys.
Angela B.Great, fast service! I called a few places, they were the most affordable, and more importantly, they were able to come out the day I called. My water heater died over the weekend and I wrongly assumed I would have to wait til Monday for help. Calling around on Monday I was able to find a couple companies able to do the job, but the soonest was going to be Thursday until I called B & G. They promised to come out same day. An hour or so after I had made my appointment, they called me back to see if I was available for them to come sooner! That's never happened to me with any other company while waiting on a service call.
They showed up, drained off the old, broken water heater, and had the new one installed in just over an hour. I also learned they would have come out on Sunday, so that will be good to keep in mind next time I need plumbing work done. Also, the price I was quoted on the phone was the final price I paid. Overall, a very happy customer!
Amazing customer service! I called 25 plumbing companies before finding them. This company is reasonable in pricing, friendly and was able to install my gas water heater the same day. I highly recommend them!!
Dick C.What a great find these folks were ...they are so professional, on time and a true value. They did the impossible for us going into a holiday weekend and took care of the problem. This is a local family owned company and you will know it. I could not recommend them higher.
Monica P.We were so impressed with the quick availability of the plumber, his thorough and professional approach with the job and the time he took to educate us about the problem and how to avoid it in the future. Craig was fantastic to work with and very personable. The price was right too!
Liz F.If you are looking to work with B&G, learn from my mistake.
(Too long to read: They do not present required paperwork, they allow their apprentice plumbers into homes without a journeyman plumber, and they will manipulate anyone they can into paying absurd amounts.)
---
I was not presented with a drop of paperwork when I agreed for them to work with me to replace my water heater.
A verbal price agreement was made, as many inexperienced first time home owners may believe to be enough.
However, having a verbal price agreement leaves the company room to rip you off and charge as much as they want later.
They try to avoid needing paperwork by telling you the price will be under $2k
They then hire their friends from outside companies, pretending they are within their company, so that they don't have to provide paperwork yet again.
I was quoted verbally $1200 or a couple hundred over.
My end bill was $2800... because their outside hires taxed on an extra $1000 to the bill.
I refused to pay, they then tried to send me the necessary paperwork again after the fact through certified mail.
We just wrapped up in small claims court one year after the fact.
Though I am not the first to experience being ripped off by them, somehow the owner of the company was able to manipulate the judge through his assertion of being an ""impeccable"" business man and that I was just some confused woman who didn't understand the way his company worked.
He had his family lie for him, and he presented conjured paperwork in his favor to make it look like I was well aware of their costs.
Even though he couldn't name the plumbers who worked in my house, and his answer to most of the judges questions were ""I do not know,"" the judge has left me to clear my entire bank account by this week or they can garnish my wages.
They received a slap on the wrist for not using paperwork.
If you still decide to work with B&G, know they will rip you off... or at least they will try. Somehow this company has many good reviews, and I don't know how I got wrapped up in their awful, manipulative scam. This is a terrible and costly lesson for me to learn.
To quote their secretary... ""we don't like to have our clients sign paperwork, it complicates things.""
As it turns out, not having paperwork is where it gets really complicated.
