I was recommended to this company by others in my building -- please take your business elsewhere if you care about not freezing in your home, or not being ripped off.

B + D were the most unprofessional company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Their technician who visited our apartment was friendly and seemed knowledgable, but everything after that was a disgrace.

They couldn't fix or diagnose our issue, and worse, they seemed to have no interest in actually doing so.

They told me they would call me 8 times over the course of 3.5 weeks, I never got a call, I had to follow up every time with them -- reminding them that we had no heat or hot water.

They lied to me about a part being hard to find (I ordered it from the company that they told me were out of stock within 5 minutes of hanging up the phone.

They told me they would get me an estimate for additional work for our boiler room, they never sent it (they said the estimate would take two days).

They charged me more than $200 over what the cost of another part is available for online, on top of another $850 bill - again, they fixed nothing in our apartment.

I called another (cheaper) company, who was not trying to rip me off like these con artists. Go elsewhere!

I don't leave reviews. Ever. But I'm leaving one now because Josh and B&D Heating saved my life. My basement flooded in the aftermath of Ida in fall 2021 and I had my boiler replaced with a heat exchanger by another company. The heat exchanger never worked properly, despite literally dozens of visits by many different plumbers over the course of 9 months. Josh fixed it in a day by discovering a tiny but catastrophic mistake in the original installation that no one had been able to identify. That was last year. Over the weekend an improperly insulated pipe burst in my laundry room, and he fixed it in an hour and gave advice on preventing it in the future. These guys are pros: they explain what's happening, they fix it quickly and efficiently, their craftsmanship (cuts / welds/ precision/ neatness) is top notch, and they clean up after themselves. Would give 6 stars if I could.

For several years now, I've only been calling them when I need to fix a water heater, any problem with leaks and the like that.
They come on time, fix what needs to be fixed, are friendly and have a fair price.

I had a moment this morning to reflect on the years of service B&D has given me (yes, they just fixed a scary leak from the bathroom fan over my toilet!). From Bill the owner, to Greycha who has since moved on, to Alex, Linda, Maria, and all the guys who have crouched in my teeny tiny boiler room to figure out what is wrong with the heat, the water flow, the water temperature, the thermostat, the burner, the toilet, the kitchen faucet, the bathtub faucet, leaks...the list goes on. Each time they've made an effort to get out as soon as possible, and even the few and far between times there was a discrepancy in charges, the owner Bill was fair. To me, that long term consistency makes all the difference. They are a good crowd over at B&D.

They are the plumbing company I call first. Every time they come they fix the situation properly. It's always a bit expensive but worth it every time for the peace of mind. Have tried others before that I have greatly regretted.

I have used B&D for my plumbing and heating needs and they have been excellent every time. I have found that they show up early in the time frame window and work quickly and do excellent work. Their prices are fair and they have seen it all as far as I can tell. Nothing seems to faze these guys, tight spaces, old fixtures and previously bad plumbing solutions. These guys will efficiently and non-judgmentally get the job done right.

I am a property manager and have dealt with many Plumbers in my career. I would highly recommend B&D. They have helped me with many issues from diagnosing leaks, simple repairs, complicated on demand boiler issues, venting issues etc. etc.

They almost always get it right the first time and if they don't they wont disappear on you. Not always the cheapest but always reasonable and they stand by their work.
