Called Bohmann Friday morning asking if they had someone who could come out to put in a warranty replacement part that Rheem had sent me for my hot water heater. The man in the office said sure, no problem we can send someone out tomorrow morning. They then called me later in the day saying they could come out that afternoon to do the replacement because someone else cancelled.

Brian Bohmann came with a woman named Sally and I brought them down into the basement where the hot water heater was and gave him the part that Rheem sent to replace (it was a thermopile).

He told me it would cost $316 for him to do the work to replace the part! I said that doesn't seem right. The hot water heater itself is probably only worth $500. He became very ruined and insisted I then had to pay the $65 ""service call fee"" for him coming out. $65 for him to walk into my basement and walk back out.

No one had ever mentioned to me there would be a fee just for him to come. Not on the phone when I made the appointment and not when we got there. I literally had to pay him $65 for him to come to my house and leave.

I then had another plumber come and replace the part for $50 and he did it in 30 minutes. Brian was going to charge $316! Do not use these people! They will rip you off!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was charged about $650 for a $200 repair. They charge by tier - offering full service all the way down to ""quick fix"" or something like that. Even the quick fix is way more expensive than it should be. Also, the technician clogged the sink and then charged me to fix it. I had no choice at the time as this was a rental property. I called the owner and he was extremely rude to me and hung up on me as I was trying to explain the situation. I can't imagine this experience going much worse. I cannot say enough bad things about this company.

I called Bohmann Plumbing because I had a badly plugged up drain pipe to the basement drain. Their plumber opened up a binder with a list of 5 options of various repair descriptions and listed prices. Their top option had some warranty included and was priced at over $5,000. The lowest option was termed a ""band aid"" option at a cost of $1323. Even the low option seemed too much, but I had the day off for the appointment and really just wanted to get it fixed. As crappy as it sounds to choose the band aid, the description seemed like it covered what was needed and I agreed. It amounted to about 3 hours work and some plastic materials from under the kitchen sink to the basement drain directly below. He said he had a faucet on the truck and I knew I'd need one soon, so I figured I might has well do that too. It was $467 for a faucet and about another hour labor.

As I made payment, the plumber's phone rang. I heard a voice say, "" Did you ask about the water heater"". I assume it was his boss, and I'm thinking that they are fishing for another expensive repair. Bohmann Plumbing had installed my water heater in 2008. When the plumber asked if I wanted to have him check how my water heater was functioning , I almost said no. But then I thought, what's the harm? I wasn't about to authorize work, but I'd see what he would say out of curiosity. The first thing he did was open up the relief valve. He said water should have gushed out and since it didn't ther could be a problem. He asked if I wanted to replace the water heater. I said no and he left. A day or two later I went downstairs and saw the floor was all wet from water leaking from the relief valve. I played with the valve a couple times to see if I could stop the leak, but it continued. I called Brian Bohmann and left a message that I had a leaky valve since his plumber opened it up. He called later and set up an appointment for the next morning. The same plumber showed up for the appointment. First thing he does is open his binder with the 5 options again, the top one being a full replacement and the bottom ""band aid' option was replacing the relief valve at a cost of $385.

I said I had no problem until he opened the valve and I wasn't happy that I now had an issue where there was none before. I was feeling a really bad vibe about this company and told him I would call another plumber rather pay him to repair a problem he caused. He then began to write up an invoice to bill me for a service call. I told him I couldn't believe he expected me to pay since his action created the reason for the call, especially after all the money I already spent. He said he could just write ""customer refused payment' on the invoice. I then decided I wanted to just close the book on my dealings with this company and paid the service call fee.

I then called another plumbing company after searching reviews to make sure I got a company with a good reputation. I explained to their plumber what was done by Bohmann's plumber. He said there is no good reason to manually open a relief valve, and that a plumber would know that opening the valve could likely displace the seal causing leakage. He said simply tapping on the valve can usually work to move the seal back in place. He did that and It seemed to work. I found later there was still a small amount of water leaking, so I gave the valve a couple taps with the back of a screwdriver and the entire floor dried up. Problem solved. I did ask the new plumber to show his company's price on a valve replacement and it was only $235 compared to Bohmann's $385. He could have easily sold me the valve, but was honest enough to show me a simple fix. He also told me the installation Bohmann had done on my water heater was improper, and wouldn't pass a home inspection. He said a flexible hose they used was not code and that all gas lines need to be metal. He noticed that the flexible hose they used was bracketed onto the water heater with screws and said you should never puncture a water heater tank for any reason. He also said brass fittings should have been used to connect the unit to the copper water pipes and they were not.

Terrible way to do business, great way to scam people. Stay clear of this company.

I called Bohmann because I cracked a 3 inch nipple while trying to remove a broken shut-off valve for my dishwasher. I explained the issue over the phone and informed them that I needed a new valve and a new 3 inch nipple.

2 plumbers showed up to my house to address this issue (how do 2 guys fit under a kitchen sink at once?). They first provided me with a $1600 service to replace the parts and warranty them for 2 years. Then I was offered the $504 ""band-aid"" fix. They wouldn't break down the cost and I informed them that I was expecting to receive a list of what the parts cost and the number of hours/labor rate. When asked if all plumbers would charge me $504, their response was ""We don't know what other plumbers cost"".

I declined the work and then the one plumber began rattling off the parts I needed to purchase, as if he was attempting to confuse me. He then said ""Do you still want to try fixing it yourself?""

I sent the plumbers on their way after paying the $62 service trip charge. The same night I had another plumber address my cracked pipe. $31 worth of parts and 1 hour of labor later, problem solved.

Bohmann clearly tries to give you sticker shock ($1600) and then offer an over-priced unnecessary alternate solution, in hopes that after seeing $1600 you'd jump all over a $504 repair.

Like others before me, I wish I had taken the time to read reviews before allowing Bohmann in the door. We have a bathroom drain that suddenly began running slow and were told that there was a service charge for them coming in to identify and quote the issue. Okay, fine. Except the service guys did nothing to identify the issue other than run some water and confirm that the drain was slow. They then proceeded to try to sell me an $850 sanitation system renovation. I asked them how they could be sure that would fix the issue and they admitted that they had no idea. I asked what if something was stuck in the drain at which point the service guy turned to another page and quoted me $1000+.

I'm angry that this cost me $60 in a house call for no work at all. No diagnosis, no snake of the drain, nothing. I paid them $60 to pitch me services that may or may not fix my [still totally unknown] issue. I have no idea if their skills and service are any good and I have no desire to find out.

7/14/14, 7:00am. Kitchen sinks would not drain...at all. Called four plumbers. Only Bohmann answered the phone with a live person (Jerry). Promised service after 3:00, but at 3:05, let me know they were running late. When they got here, they explained the services and costs and we went with the second highest tier solution. Was concerned about that, but it turned out to be totally worth it. Problem was fixed in 90 minutes, clean-up was thorough and kitchen sinks run great, without the gurgling we had always experienced. Chuck was great, very knowledgeable. Can't speak for other reviewers, but we will call this company the next time we have an emergency. By the way, still have not received callback from the other three. I guess business is too good...

I called them for and estimate for a drain spout to see if the drain was broken or damage, so the guy told me that the Service charge is 65$ but if he did the work he would wave the fees, so I said ok! He came over only to tell me that everything looked really good with out doing any testing of any kind! So I said , well since you're already here why don't u just sneak it out any ways right? He shows me his chart of prices. If would cost me about 800$ for 30 feet only! Really? And he demanded to get pay for nothing ! Watch out big scam!

Called them out to my business on a Friday because the ladies toilet stopped working (flushing). Bohmann Plumbing sent two plumbers out, they reviewed the situation, had to send pictures from their phone to the ""master plumber best in WI"" then told us that NONE of them could figure out my problem. The plumber then went to do an estimate for us for the work, he came back and told me us that his boss told him to ""stick it to us"" but he wasn't going to because he was really interested in figuring out the ""mystery behind my wall"". He then gave me an estimate for $4500 for two new toilets, tearing down the wall, new pipes, etc. Then they left us, our first weekend in business with no functioning toilet. I paid $70 for a snow job.

The following Monday my husband and I called Martin's Plumbing, they came out in 2 hours fixed the problem, replaced the lines and charged us under $300. Will never call Bohmann again.

Bohmann Plumbing, (Also Cudahy Plumbing)

I asked the plumber to fix my clogged sink and leaky bath tub faucet. I paid $1,049.00 to have only the bathtub faucet fixed. No parts were used and the plumber only spent about 70 minutes. He was supposed to fix the bathroom sink but did not fix it. I still need to have the sink fixed and will have to call a honest company to do so. The unethical and arrogant owner abdicated his responsibility to the consumer, me, by stating that he gave his prices upfront. While I was aware of the price, I did not agree or believe that he would only make one simple faucet repair and not fix the sink. Shame on you, Bohmann (and also Cudahy) Company and shame on me for failing to check the many unfavorable reviews on Google !!!!
