Paid $120 for nothing at all. They had cc number before service call, so nothing I can do. Initial call I told them there was a repair issue, but if if could be cleaned and certified and fixed that would be great otherwise would need a quote. SHe said they always charge for cleaning and cert upfront because sometimes people who sell their home don't pay before closing. THey called back to schedule a time, I did not get around to returning that call but the guy showed up anyways. I let him in, and in 15 minutes or less he told me we could not fix the repair issue, and that based on the age of the furnace we would need a new one as well as ac coil. He said he talked to a manager and the cleaning and cert fee would be charged anyways even though he did not certify or clean. But if we got a furnace through them they would waive it. I was irritated because that policy was not communicated upfront before I booked with them. So, I said, well, can you at least clean the outdoor unit and give me a quote for a new furnace while you are here? So he did cleaned that for about 10 minutes and spent an awkward amount of time in our basement, When he left he told me me that I would have a quote within a few days and he could ask for a rush delivery. Next communication from the company was several days later, they wanted to schedule a time to have an estimator come out. I did not call back because I didn't know why they needed to send someone else out again and we were busy. Just got a ""receipt"" that they charged me for 1.5 hours of work. They told me that the guy who came could not have been giving me an estimate because he lacks the tools. Well you tell me, what was he doing in my basement for an hour if not trying to get info to give a quote and what was I paying for??? That's just creepy! Apparently I paid to see if my furnace passed a ""test"" if it doesn't pass, you still pay... even if they don't clean or do any work. IMO, the service call was to get a diagnosis and an estimate to repair, clean and certify or replace. THey are treating it differently and should have communicated that policy upfront. I think it's a money grab. Summary: Dont give your cc number out before a service call and don't call this company.
