Avid installed our water heater 8 years ago...so when it stopped heating our water to a hot temperature we called them to service it. Their tech would not listen to our concerns and ensured there was nothing wrong with the heater. Rather he told us our shower heads were causing the issue - oh and the fact that we sometimes use hot water several different times in a few minute period.

Well after calling Cardinal Heating and cooling we now have hot water again. They diagnosed the actual problem in less than two minutes and we fixed it.


I'd stay away from Avid unless they start using techs with a little more knowledge and ability to listen to their customers.

Had to have a toilet reinstalled after a flooring project. A pretty small and simple task, but Avid responded to my initial inquiry quickly and got someone out to take care of it as quick as possible. Service call was right In the scheduled window and the text updates on timing are helpful. The project was done in a short time and the cost was very reasonable. Recommend highly

We hired Avid Plumbing to fix a leak from a 61 year old copper pipe leading to an exterior faucet which runs through an exterior wall. Their repair (a compression joint) has failed twice in the first year (once after a month and the second this past weekend) and they are now refusing to stand behind their work. They tell me (now) that this joint cannot or could not possibly be fixed because it could freeze. I did not decline anything they wanted to do nor did I tell them how to repair the problem - I would have paid them to do whatever they felt necessary so that my house would not flood. I also followed their suggestion, which included allowing airflow and heating the room (at the time the pipe failed the second time, it was 67° in the room). Instead, their decision is now my problem again as I have to look for a new plumber because of their arrogance and poor customer service.

I emailed on a Sunday with a request to follow up about replacing my leaking water heater. Didn't hear from them Monday morning so called and was told that Jenny would call me back, which she did not do. No one did, actually. Ever. Now, I like to shop local, but I also like hot water, so I ended up calling Home Depot and they had a guy from Sun Prairie get it done in under 4 hours. Boom.

Jason was awesome and made quick work of replacing an old water shutoff valve that didn't work (yikes) and fixing a shower faucet. In and out in under an hour. He even turned on the water at the street that I requested the city shut off. Thanks again!

These guys are amazing. Referred from a coworker and contacted online. Came over $500 under the estimate via email. Replaced old water heater, main house h2o valve, fixed gas leak and added RO system all in less than 3 hours!! Taught me some trade knowledge for my own DYI fixes too! Quick and efficient. Haven't used in a emergency but have heard great things from people I have referred them to and will if and when the case arises. This is the only A name for plumbing in the Area. Really happy with Avid Plumbing service. Have used them to replace a toilet and now a water heater. Communication and scheduling is excellent as is billing. Service people have been patient in listening to and answering all of my questions. Really happy with the work that has been done and appreciate the high level of customer service.
