Called to setup an appoint and was told they could have someone out the next day and I would get a text between 10am-2pm. Had a tenant waiting at the house for a plumber to fix a gas leak till 1:30pm, no text no show. I called and they had no recollection of ever speaking with me even though I spoke with the person answering phones the previous day for 1m10s from my cell phone. Make sure you get an appointment confirmation!!
I made an appointment with Authority Plumbing & Drain about 1 week in advance. They did not show up or call to cancel, and they didn't answer or return my calls when I checked in twice after the appointment window. Don't waste your time with this company.
I was so stressed about our collapsed drain pipe. Authority Plumbing and Drain were the best call I made. Their quote came in lower, they were extremely responsive and very professional. They used all their own employees and no subcontractors. That was very important to me. I would recommend this business over and over again. Very professional, prompt, and did fantastic work.
DISHONEST COMPANY. STAY AWAY! Would give negative stars if I could. We had these guys out to replace a valve in our fuel runs that spire said was leaking. I asked the plumber how much this would be he said $150. I then asked if he would pressure test to see if the system held pressure. He said that was fine and never spoke of any further charges. I told him to call if any of the work exceeded $250. He never called. He went on an extensive search for a leak then told my wife it would be $9000 to replace all of the gas lines in the house then had her sign a bill for $500. He lied to her about our conversation. She asked where the leaks were and if they were marked. She was told there were too many to mark! We had Spire our local gas company out to retest and look for leaks. They found 1 elbow leaking and replaced it for $254. Problem fixed. Dishonest company that preys on its customers. When we contested the $350 charge with our credit card company they called Spire to shut our gas off!
Bob S.Found ad on Craigslist and called to schedule an appointment. Earliest they could make it was 4 days later. Scheduled the appointment.
Confirmed two days in advance and the lady who answered the phone said she would call the morning of to give me a window of time so I could come home from work to meet the plumber.
The day of the appointment came...NO CALL. I called NO ANSWER. I called back and left a voicemail. NO CALL RETURN.
Sent a text NO RESPONSE.
Called back and caught the lady off-guard. She claimed to have called me to confirm and did not answer. LIES. She tried to LIE AGAIN and tell me she left a voicemail. Come on lying Lady, just apologize and reschedule already!
Then she told me they have a 16' box truck so they can't service the city. LIES. I told her there are parking lots all over the place, besides, during the day everyone is at work and you can park anywhere.
SHE WAS RUDE AND LIED REPEATEDLY.
AVOID.
Will post on yelp but want to follow up with everyone. Authority Plumbing and Drain lost out on some big money (well, big to me). I had Hoffmann Brothers out yesterday. They initially said that it might be the wax ring. But after taking the toilet off they said it wasn't the wax ring. It was the horn that is actually part of the toilet that got broken. The horn connects to the wax ring that makes the seal. He showed me the broken horn. He wondered how it could have gotten broken and I said that possibly by Roter Rooter who I had just called out a few weeks ago to unclog my toilet. But I don't want to blame Roter Rooter because my toilet is probably as old as my house. Long story short I need to buy a new toilet (about $600 plus installation). Now all of you ""guys"" out there are probably saying that I'm getting ripped off. But I don't feel like I am and that's all that matters to me. Plus I deal with Hoffmann all the time. They are a great company; professional and reliable. The only reason I didn't call them first is because they charge a service fee just to ""enter your house"". But I was trying to hire a company (Authority Plumbing and Drain) that didn't charge a service fee and look what I got: an unprofessional and unreliable company. So, too bad Authority Plumbing and Drain. You lost out on a job that you could have made a few bucks on.
Caveman C.What started out with a $150 bid for a simple drain clean turned into an outrageous $400 bill. They added bogus additional charges for using simple tools and an eight foot ladder. I am satisfied with the service provided but they totally took advantage of the situation I was in. I will never call this company again or ever recommend them to anybody.
