Andrew Serrato and Austin Residential Solutions is a scammer who left the job unfinished. Probably a good thing after finding out his craftsmanship was actually craftsmansh!t!
With most of what work he did do, we had to hire real professionals to rip out his "work" and redo it. There's a reason he is on craigslist. His guys told me they had not been paid and I feel sorry for them because I think they were used as well.
On the bathroom remodel part, he didn't waterproof the substrate, used an outdoor drain instead of an indoor shower drain, and his mud pan had waves in it that would never have drained water. Hundreds of dollars of tile had to be ripped out, and funny enough they were barely stuck to the walls. Crazy.
He claims to know electrical. However, after our AC guy saw his work, he advised me " don't let this guy do another thing to your wiring, he has no idea what he is doing". Just like the other reviews, he starts having "emergencies" which I am sure are all lies and then quits showing up all together.
Do your homework, look him up in the Travis county court system. Multiple criminal and civil cases for decades. Look it up for yourself. Needless to say, Do not use this guy, he is a hack with the talk of a used car salesman.

After he saw my review, he harassed my elderly mother and I, threatening legal action and said he will label us as frauds when we are respected national award-winning educators with 800 credit scores, then said he placed a lien on our house even though he didn't have a contract with us and we don't owe him money because he never returned to do the work. All he did was removing a piece of ugly grout that was still functional, rendering our bathroom unusable, then made us wait 4 days before ghosting us... until the review. Funny thing is: he was already a 1 star company from another review, so my negative review didn't bring down his score at all, since it couldn't have been lower. Then the next day he threatened "torturous interference," which is not appropriate for a honest yelp review at all. I plan to file an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau and possibly sue him for harassment. It doesn't look like I need to, though. After an extensive remodel, I needed a handyman who was more experience in general-contracting work instead of having to book an individual specialist each time. Andrews team is great for that--filling a need in the market where no other handymen have the talent. He completed a job for a new water heater installation with no issues.
Later, I decided to use his service again. He was generally slow with performing any type of work, from installing a backyard fence to removing popcorn ceilings to touching up paint on window trims, or power-washing the siding. The price he quoted was fair, so I expected some minor delays. The issue came when he was constantly making excuses for not showing up and then wanting me to pay him, in-full, using the "gifts" option in Paypal (no buyer protection), before the entirety of the work was finished. I took a good-faith risk in doing so, since he had completed the water heater replacement so well. He took advantage of me as a client. I live in a different state and allowed him to come into the property with a front door keypad code. He sent pictures of finalized work. The work was claimed to be finished, in full. There were four small to medium items that he did not complete. He claims the house was fully cleaned--by a professional cleaning crew, no less--when it was obvious that it had not been touched after his crew finished the work.
I would have been fine, if he were to have gone back and completed the work. His tactic is to stall and make up stories for being busy or on vacation. Once he's fully paid, he suddenly lost the motivation to come by and do the work. Other jobs took the priority. I was cheated by Residential Solutions. We settled on a partial refund, for the work that was not completely. It has been two months, and there is still stalling and excuses. I have finally filed an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and letter the word out about his unscrupulous business practices. Typical Andrew Serrato. It is hard to believe he's been in business for 16 years. It is obvious why his business has 0 reviews on Yelp, thus far. Avoid this business at all cost.
