We were referred to AUL Plumbing through our warrantee company. Our kitchen sink shut off valve is leaking. AUL Plumbing called me and set our appointment for 12/31/2019 between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. After taking off of work and waiting for them, they never showed up. I called their number several times and not only did they not answer their phone, but they never returned my call. I would have understood if they needed to reschedule the appointment, however they did not even give me the respect of a call back. I GIVE THEM A FAILURE.
Let me preface this by saying THIS IS NOT A FAKE REVIEW. A complete joke of a company.
If I could give less stars I would. This contractor was the most unprofessional 'professional' I have ever come across. He was assigned to my claim of a leaky water heater by my home warranty company. At first I was excited. We placed the claim on Wednesday, November 6th. He reached out to us on Thursday, November 7th and said his first available opening was on Friday, November 8th but would let me know if he had a cancellation and could come earlier. He did have a cancellation and was able to come on Thursday the 7th.
He told us it could take approximately 1 week and even though I hoped for faster service, I understand there was a holiday (Veterans Day) and the water heater needed to be ordered. I didn't hear anything from him all week and I finally reached out to him on Thursday, November 14th asking if he had an update. He said he had the equipment and could come install the water heater on Monday, November 18th between 10AM-12PM. I took the day off work to make sure I was home and ready.
On Monday, November 18th at 10:06AM I received a TEXT from Daniel telling me he had van issues and needed to cancel the appointment. He also told me he would contact me that evening to reschedule. Then NOTHING, no contact, no calls, no texts, NOTHING. I reached out to him on Tuesday, November 19th at 4:39PM. NOTHING. I reached out to him on Wednesday, November 20th at 12:22PM. 4:31PM and 6:29PM. Finally at 7:15PM, he TEXTS me saying he can come tomorrow (Wednesday, November 19th) anytime after 12. His text says 'I literally just got my van back.' Before I can respond, he sends me another TEXT at 7:29 saying those appointments have all been filled by others and it will have to be 'Friday or this weekend now.' I just was hoping to have it done before Thanksgiving since I had family coming.
Thursday, November 21st, he tests me at 2:03 saying he can come tomorrow (Friday, November 22nd) between 2-4PM and to please confirm. I say yes and take yet ANOTHER day off work. Friday comes and goes. NO communication whatsoever concerning the appointment. NO SHOW! I reached out to him at 3:19PM, 3:46PM, 3:55PM and 8:04PM. No response. I reach out to him on Saturday, November 23rd at 7:26AM, 10:06AM, and 3:32PM. Still NOTHING.
He finally TEXTS me at 5:04PM apologizing and said 'Looks like my text never went through Friday. I'm just getting my messages now. I can be there tomorrow (Sunday, November 24) around 12.' So I skip church and change family plans to be there. GUESS WHAT???? NEVER SHOWED!!!!!! Surprise, surprise.
He messages me at 9:59AM telling me it will be between 1-2PM but he is still coming. Then again NOTHING. I reach out at 10:24AM and 1:24PM. He messages me at 1:30PM telling me is running an hour behind schedule and that 'Things don't always go as planned."" I ask him if that means he will be there at 3 and then he tells me that I can reschedule for tomorrow (Monday, November 27th). UMMM NO, I am not taking off another day of work for you!
At 2:12 he messages me and says his van won't start and he is waiting on a tow. In the message he says this ""I can't say sorry enoug hand I'm sure I will get a terrible review."" I am done with this mess. He reaches out at 9:36PM on Sunday the 26th and says he has to have a new starter installed on his fan and will come whenever it is done on Monday the 27th. I let him know he needs to come on the 27th or else I am contacting the Warranty Company to let them know how bad he was.
The last communication I got from him on Monday, November 27th was this ""I was just about to text you. They are still working on it (the van). I'll notify First American to have another company come out then.""
He never showed any remorse, never showed any desire to make things right.
My questions are this?
Where is my water heater? First American ordered it and had it sent to you?
Do you only have 1 van? Rent another one and keep your appointments.
Do you have other clients? I cannot be the only one you cancelled on.
Texting really? How unprofessional.
I also complained about him to my Home Warranty Company. I hope they never contract with him again either. What a terrible company with even worse service.
Yvonne G.He does not show up and I don't think he is an honest person. Lots of BS excuses. Was assigned by home warranty company, but we had to cancel after his no show and hire someone else. Have complained to home warranty company about it.
Terrible customer service. Does not return calls. Does not answer phone. Does not start work nor complete reports. I would do anything to avoid this company. If you want work to be completed or started for that matter find anyone else. Pay more. Do anything possible to avoid this company. They will not do anything they promised nor complete a job. What's worse is that they will lie to you.
Mrs. Copy Cat M.Horrible customer service. We were assigned this company by our home warranty service...after they came to the house to estimate repairs we didn't hear anything back! Home warranty company stated that the company never completed the required report to even start the job, and now they won't answer or return calls. I do not recommend this company.
Absolutely crappy business. Called several times. No returned calls. Had an appointment, no show. Then told he would call later to set something up and the coward won't answer his phone or have the decency to return a call or a text. Showed up three hours late for an appointment when he did show. Lied about receiving the original call from the home warranty company and had me call again and submit complaint so he didn't have to come out that day. If you have an appointment with a client BE THERE! Do the work. Why would you purposefully make a stressful situation even more stressful???? Don't ever even think of using this crappy company.
Response: not fake review. Look at other reviews. No show, said he would not be at my home 1/2 hour before he was scheduled to replace a water heater that was broken for days that he was returning because he already fixed ""rigged"" it. Tried to call and text to reschedule and no response. Seemed like a great guy, he never fixed a broken water heater and made his measly service fee so he had no intention of returning to replace a dead water heater. I took down permanent shelves, emptied closet totally and he doesn't show at appointment time? Won't call or text to reschedule?
Mike G.I am a Realtor in the Hampton Roads area. Aul Plumbing was assigned thru First American for some warranty work, but I also needed an emergency walk-through repair.
They called within 15 minutes of receiving the warranty assignment, and we were able to meet later that day to confirm the work. The repairs were completed in a timely manner (water heater, and leaky drain pipes in crawl)...with none of those mysterious uncovered 'modifications'.
Also responded quickly to my walkthru emergency, completing a repair by the end of the same day.
Also assigned by my Homeowners warranty company, this company NEVER scheduled a visit with me or came to my home. This was july of 2016. I got an invoice in January 2017 for a service fee that never happened. WTF. I hope you don't pull this on too many would have/could have been clients. It's a horrible business practice.
Joe J.I was assigned this plumbing company by my home warranty company. It's been about 17 days since I put in my request to have a leaking sink looked at. They have not called me back nor have they responded to voice mails that I left them over a week ago. I called the home warranty company and requested to be assigned another plumber.
Their communication skills need great improvement. After being assigned this company to find/fix a water leak by my Home Warranty Company - what I though was minor turned out to be as much water as a faucet turned on under the house. It was Sunday, but now that I realized that it was an emergency, I called Aul using the number I received from the warranty company (also the only one on their web page). Their webpage states that they are available 24/7, so I was wondering why no return call. I even left them a VM with the sound of the water pouring under my house. Fortunately a neighbor helped me turn off the water. When I called Monday morning and left another VM and after 15 more minutes sent an email to the email address. Finally I received a call where he said, ""The 24 hour service is only for regular customers, not those through a home warranty."" I'm sorry, but I'm a human being now forced to tote a bucket of water from the bathroom with a tub to the bathroom with only a shower stall to flush the toilet - I should have at least received a call back saying you weren't doing the job. Apparently Aul doesn't understand how to get a ticket assigned to someone else, because when I called the home warranty company I was told the ticket was cancelled.
