I have been a customer of Atlas mechanical for many years and have had very few opportunities to make service requests. As my appliances have aged, I have had a few calls over the past couple of years and each one has resulted in requiring parts that either aren't covered or only minimally covered and required out of pocket of hundreds of dollars each time. I have paid extra for """"replacement"""" which is absolutely useless since replacement means they will give you a minimal prorated amount back- Not actual replacement. Since my appliances are older, replacement value is next to nothing and no one ever told me to drop the replacement part of it since it was not economical for me to keep it. My last encounter was what prompted this negative review. My whirlpool clothes dryer stopped working and a tech came out and fixed the door switch. That didn't fix the problem so he ordered a new on off switch. 18 days later the part came in and the tech installed it but that didn't fix the problem. He then checked the motor and the motor was fine. He then deduced that the problem must be the timer switch. I received a call stating that the switch was $278 but that they would give me a credit of $75 since that was the maximum they would pay for a part. So my out-of-pocket would be $203. I then asked to speak with someone that could work with me on that price amd was told they would reduce the price to $120. I then asked what if the timer switch didn't fix the problem and was told that they would then """"condemn"""" the dryer and would give me """"replacement"""" value but refused to tell me exactly what replacement value was. I was also told that if the part didn't work, I would still be responsible for the $120. Since I didn't know what the replacement value was there was no way for me to determine what to do, I. E., Buy a new dryer or have them fix the old one. I have left a message to have one of the owners call me back as well as the tech who I was told was the only one that could tell me what the replacement value would be. I would not recommend this company since this seems to be a poor way of doing business and really isn't covering older appliances which would be the most in need of repair/replacement.

I had a billing dispute with Atlas because I left my home when their serviceman didn't show up by 1:30. As it worked out, I never received a phone call from their man who eventually showed up sometime after 2:00 pm. The women who took my call would not discuss a compromise, nor would they let me pay the balance when he would come back. I found them most uncooperative and find it strange that they were so adament about the open balance. I would not recommend them.

I wish I could leave ZERO stars. These people are the most despicable I've ever had the displeasure of dealer with. They are incredibly dishonest and will try to pull money out of every service call although the """"contract"""" says the issue AND the parts are covered. They came out for a washing machine belt. Cheap part and easy to fix. The guy calls the office to report what he's doing and all of a sudden there is a 49 dollar chrage. WHY YOU ASK? Because the wasker is 20 years old and there is a service charge of 49 on getting older parts. WHAT? ARE YOU KIDDING? not only do they lie...they don't even do it well. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. FRAUD, LYING AND DISHONESTY ARE THE THEMES IN MOST OF THEM. You can only get suckered if you let yourself. Stay away from these thieves.

I used this company to install a new AC unit in my condo. I have never seen a sloppier job in my life. After I complained, they sent someone who did a poor job of making it look better. While I don't know enough about HVAC to determine if the installation is mechanically correct, I certainly wouldn't bet on it. In addition, their servicemen never provided me with the serial number of the unit on my roof and my condo does not let me go up there to get it so I am having trouble registering my warrantee. When I called Atlas to ask about this, they told me they had already taken care of the warrantee. That was a lie since, when I contacted the manufacturer, they had no record of any application. I would never use this company again!!

We would like to stress our total dissatisfaction with an 'Emergency Sunday A/C Service promise' that has to be only called in to obtain it during 'Normal Business hours'. When you need emergency weekend Air Conditioning service & you have no working air conditioning in your house in the Florida summer heat, one is expecting to get an emergency operator if it is after normal business hours. Emergencies do not always happen before 3pm on a Saturday or from 9-5 during the week! The emergency Sunday service offer is deceptive and false if it can not be called in for after normal business hours. Our A/C completely stopped working at 5pm on a Saturday, and we left 4 messages (on the Altas answering machine) on both Saturday and Sunday saying that we wanted the emergency Sunday A/C repair service as promised when we signed up. There was no emergency operator or answering service with a person. Just an answering machine where no one responds until normal business hours. Also, very strange to be asked by the Supervisor on Monday when we complained about this """"why we would call another company to give us the emergency service"""" Altas had no ability to provide because our emergency started after 3pm on Saturday. The supervisor, Kimberly Helton did not understand why we needed to call another company to fix the issue. She said she had 'no idea' why we would call another company that did provide emergency service to fix our air conditioning. She was baffled why we did not want to wait in the heat for days until 'normal business hours'. It was literally close to 90 degrees in our house by Sunday morning, yet Kimberly could not understand why we needed to pay another company with actual Sunday emergency services (with a real person answering the phone to arrange the Sunday emergency service) to fix the A/C instead of waiting for Atlas Mechanical Services to open on Monday to first arrange an actual appointment. ***Also, very disturbing that we are unable to remove A/C from our contract upon becoming aware of this deceptive impossible to arrange weekend emergency A/C Sunday service because we paid for our full year Altas contract 1 month early. We are now stuck with this incomplete service that does NOT have usable emergency Sunday service unless we know of the emergency during normal business hours...crazy and totally nor real life workable - just plain deceptive advertising of an unusable benefit!!!! There is no emergency operator or emergency answering service after 3pm Saturday to request the emergency Sunday service.***

I'm am writing this review on behalf of my senior citizen mother who these thieves have tried to get away with charging her fees that are not within her contract guidelines. This matter will be solved through litigation if they think they will get away with this. Give my elderly mother her money back. She cancelled her contract that she paid for the year and is owed that remainder credit! This company doesn't even deserve one star. The unprofessionalism, disrespect, and lack of common decency that this company and there staff lack to say the least is alarming. Upon my first initial request for a service technician to come and clean my A/C ducts the gentleman that came out was very nice and knowledgeable. My second time requesting another service call they Sent me a technician that didn't have a ladder and he was very rude and very confused on how to evaluate and execute what I needed to be done. He then rudely advised me that I would need to call the office and have another appointment set up since he wasn't equipped to doing the job he came to do. I called the office and explained to the representative the situation and was then transferred to Kimberly (owner) who for some reason thought it would be professional to tell me that I'm an idiot after I explained to her that it doesn't make any common sense to send technicians to customers properties that are not equipped with the proper skill set to perform the jobs. After going back and forth with Kimberly for a few minutes and name calling, I then decided to tell her I wanted to cancel the rest of my contract. I have only been with the company for 6 months however I am not going to go back and forth about facts and proper procedures. She told me that she will cancel the policy and send the remainder credit that I had paid to my home address. I received a letter a few days later stating that I owe them money based on them charging me a """"abusive customer"""" fee. Not only is this claim outrageous but it is utterly illegal to charge me a fee for something that is not within my contract as a charge. To charge me this fictitious charge and not refund me back what is owed to me is more then """"abusive"""", it's unethical and unlawful. The fact that I'm a customer that lives in a 55 plus community and have to be subject to this outrageous charge is prejudice and non judicial to say the least. Unfortunately I was not able to read all the horrible reviews on google and yelp prior to signing a contact with them, and was going on good faith with this company. They are a scam and I will be reporting them to the better business bureau. You can't take advantage of seniors who are on fixed incomes and think that you will continue to get away with it. Instead of just giving my money back and letting me go to a more professional company they had to go above and beyond to try and take more money from me by adding a fee that is made up. My rights as a customer were totally disregarded, they don't care about loosing customers. I will be letting my home owners association to not post flyers with there information for other senior residents to ensure they are not scammed. Do not sign any contracts with Atlas, they are a nightmare.

Wish our father-in-law (was 80 when he asked this place to replace his interior A/C unit in 2013) could have read these reviews before he did business with them. Same story as most of the other clients here...Swindling an elderly man by not ensuring the warranty card was filled out and sent in, and then hiding behind that sleight-of-hand technicality when the coil goes bad as an excuse not to stand behind the product and install. Then they added insult to injury by only offering a $350 concession on a $3000 coil replacement job that we ultimately got done with another company for $1200 all in. Just to be safe, we'd recommend staying out of their entire zip code.
