CHRIS came out same day despite how busy he was. My tenant called that the heater went out and I called several places and he was the only one who picked up right away and made it out there same day. Very honest and made several recommendations and even did work above what he quoted me at no extra cost. Great guy great service!!

Chris of Athens Plumbing and Heating responded quickly to fix my pilot light/wall heater problem. He was courteous and seemed knowledgeable. He cleaned the pilot light and re-lit it. I was charged $190.00. A few days later, I smelled gas and my pilot light was out. Chris promised to return and fix it. He missed a scheduled appointment and has not responded for over a week now! Obviously, I would not use Athens again.

Chris was responsive, courteous, and thoughtful. I asked him to install a WiFi thermostat, but our furnace was too old to support it. Rather than charging me for the visit, he simply offered his availability for any future work we might need. I really respect that! You'll be our first call when our ancient furnace finally bites the dust. Thank you!

Chris replaced a 30 year old furnace at my rental during the busy winter season. He had to work through the supplier not having the furnace ready for him in time and he came in on the morning of Christmas Eve to finish the job. Very helpful and was great about showing me everything he was working on so I would understand. I highly recommend him.

Great job by Chris! I needed a quick installation of a gas shut off valve for a new gas dryer and he came right over and fixed it the same day! Very nice guy and was considerate enough to even take off his shoes when he came in! What more can you ask for?! He was very polite and even checked on my water heater for me!!! I will definitely keep in mind for future jobs! I highly recommend him! Very reasonable prices too!

I had a water heater that I thought needed repair so I called Athens for a quote. Took them a few days to come out but they did. My water was brownish color and I know that can be caused by sentiment being built up. The plumber, i think Max, recommended I replace the unit. Didn't want to spend that much money on it but I went with his word. He did a good job although it cost more than I wanted to spend.

Sorry to do this but I have to give a negative rating for this company. I left a message at 7 am to report a faucet that would not turn off. I received a prompt call back and was told that no appointments were available that day but that he could come at 10:30 the next day. He told me how to use the shut off valve, which at least prevented the faucet from continuing to run. He was going to call later that day or when he was on his way the next morning to get the address. Needless to say I never got a call and he was a no-show at 10:30. Unfortunately, by that time, I was unable to locate another plumber that could come that day so had an additional day with an inoperative faucet. Sadly, most plumbing problems need to be fixed ASAP and you need someone reliable. This company is not it!

I made an appointment with Athens to get a quote on air conditioning. At the appointed time, Athens did now show up. I texted. No response. I waited longer and then I called. He (don't know his name) answered and told me only then that he wasn't licensed to install air conditioning.
""Why didn't you tell me that when I made the appointment"" I asked.
""Because I didn't know that then"", he replied.
So I came home from work early to meet Athens and he didn't know if he could do the job! He checked with someone, found out his license didn't cover it, and decided it wasn't worth his time to call, text or show up for the appointment.
But I guess he thought it was worth my time to come home and wait for him.
Two thumbs down!!
