Wendy C.Well .. I did not have their service but I will find out tell you that their drivers are the rudest worst drivers I have ever encountered from a company. Driving down the road he swerved in and out of traffic and nearly caused three accidents today. I would not do business with this company on that fact alone.
Shawna L.Unfortunately, this is who my home warranty company scheduled me with. However, I let them know how shoddy this company was and if I had a choice, I would have never hired them on my own given their reviews. You will have better luck trying to fix things on your own the correct way watching a YouTube video before shelling out money to this company who just takes short cuts and lies about what work they actually did.
I had a leak under my kitchen sink and was told by the technicians there were missing screws from the initial set up and hardware was loose. Instead of replacing the screws and removing the basket to apply new putty or replacing the gasket underneath, they just slabbed on plumbers putty below where the leaks were coming from (see attached photo). I literally could have done this for myself for $2 vs the $75 service charge which luckily is all it cost me through my warranty.
When I called to ask about the work the had been done and to get clarification on the scews. The gal on the other end danced around my questions and got extremely defensive and loud as if I had no right to question their work.
DO NOT USE this company. They are rude and dishonest and will be a waste of your time and money.
Cristina R.Chris with APC plumbing, was very polite and attentive throughout his services. He demonstrated great customer service and was very informative about some of the questions I had. I highly recommend him.
AOC Pluming, will add non-needed items to up charge unsuspecting customers. Especially Extended Warranty customers. Will list normal removal and install as MODIFICATIONS so the customer will pay out of pocket and extended warranties will then not cover that side of the cost. Very rude when asked detailed questions, and or will refer back to it your extended warranty company as the reason for the up-charge. Extremely dishonest company, and this coming from someone who has dealt with extended warranty companies for 13+ years. Stay clear....! THEY WILL SAY RIGHT FROM THE FIRST CALL THAT YOUR EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER ALL COSTS! Without knowing the service needed.
This has definitely been my worst experience with a trade in Arizona in the 23 years I have lived out here. I will never allow APC near one of my properties ever again. Here is my experience this past week.
I had (note the past tense) American Home Shield home warranty on my rental property. I called on a leaking shower head, a leaking faucet, a toliet handle that kept falling off and a faucet with low hot water pressure. I scheduled for Monday and nobody showed up within the time frame I was told, not even a courtesy call. I called them multiple times that day after the time frame to find out the status. When the tech showed up, he was only able to fix 2 out of the 4 items. The toliet handle fell off the very next day which was one of the items he was able to fix. I rescheduled the faucets for Thursday. Again no one showed up during the time frame and I had to call again after the time frame had passed. When speaking with APC, they cancelled my appointment because they were having scheduling issues that day. Good customer service. So I rescheduled for Friday. The tech actually showed up early, however he was unable to fix the either faucet! The low hot water pressure was still low and APC stated the warranty did not cover a new faucet as it was not authorized. I called AHS direct afterwards and they said they did authorize a new faucet. So who is not being truthful? I was hearing two different stories regarding the authorization status.
Here is the real problem. The APC tech damaged my property this past week and did not even seem to care. Appeared to me he was more interested in getting in and out as quickly as possible. When the tech showed up on Monday my faucet was leaking just a little and looked fine/passable. The handles were aligned etc. Well on Monday he messed up the handle alignment when trying to take the faucet apart. I specifically asked him if he was going to be able to fix the alignment if the faucet was not approved. He assured me he could, no problems. Well today he was unable to align the faucet correctly as he found it on Monday. The APC tech left my property damaged and in worst condition than when they first arrived on Monday. So now I get to take on the additional cost of the damage that the APC tech created this past week.
As for the faucet with the low hot water pressure, I called Parker & Sons after he left. They were out within the hour. The issue of the hot water pressure is the valve needed to be opened more than it was. Just took a little turning to the left. Sounds like plumbing 101 to me. The APC tech tried a new cartridge and stated he replaced the supply line. He did not, I saw that myself when I looked under the cabinet.
Those are the facts and my experience with APC this week. NEVER, EVER AGAIN will they be allowed to work on any one of my properties.
As for AHS, I cancelled their contract right after this happened today. They choose APC so I do not trust them when something else would need to be repaired.
Vernon D.This is the worst company ever buyers beware, if somebody tell you that APC plumbing is coming to your house do not let them in. Always check your reviews and the better business bureau that's why they're a one-star rated company. Terrible and a ripoff company. American Home Shield Warranty work side by side with this company. So if I was you I will think twice before purchasing American Home Shield also.
American Home Shield sent APC Plumbing to fix kitchen faucet leaks. There were 2 parts to the request. One was a leaking faucet and the other were frozen hot/cold water line handles. The need for 3 visits to complete the repair had to do with misinterpretations by AHS and APC. The order said ""Faucet"" but did not say ""faucet leaks"". Once that got resolved, CHRIS came out and did a thorough and careful and professional installation of a replacement faucet. He also cleaned up; unusual for many contractors. FYI: The first visit by Demar did get the water line handles changed out. Demar was also professional, but was fired soon after his visit to my house.
Jason Y.Julian's review sounds just like my story. I had a leaking shower handle. AHS took my $125 trade fee, and sent out APC. He took a quick cell phone picture of the tub and left. Said he had to get additional authorization from AHS. But of course he also had his mold specialist buddy on stand by probably waiting nearby come by minutes after he left, to test for mold, and to conveniently ask for my home owners insurance company information to file a claim! 2 weeks later AHS calls and says that $60 worth of parts would be covered but $600 of additional work related to modifications and state laws would need to be done. I have a brand new house built in Surprise? Why? I had another local plumber come out, no service fee, verified that my pipes were up to code, and there was no mold or water damage. I ended up paying for the service out of pocket as this is my last straw dealing with these warranty companies that push you off to these shady tradesmen who RIP you off and try to upsell you from their pipelines and leads generated from warranty companies.
Julian Q.WOW... Why am I not surprised that this company only has a rating of 1.5 stars??
I put a service request for my water heater through my home warranty company. APC (Athena's Plumbing Company LLC) was tasked with the job to come out and diagnose my issue. I already knew that the water heater needed to be replaced because of where the leak was coming from. When my home warranty company called to advise that I would be responsible for paying out-of-pocket expenses approximately $800, of course I had questions. I was told to call the plumbing company APC to get more details on the ""modifications"" that needed to be done. So when I called and spoke to the representative to ask my questions, I expected to receive details - specific details as to what exactly was resulting in me having to pay so much out of pocket. Instead I was hit with practically the same reason that was given to me 3 yrs ago (2016) about the government changing laws resulting in having to make these modifications. Whether it's true or not it sounded too scripted and I'm sure they have many people calling up and asking the same question. However if a customer is asking questions and getting ready to pay you out of pocket $800 to have services done by your company, you sit there and answer those questions. Instead they repeated themselves several times and the manager even jumped on the phone and repeated the same info the representative was telling me. They had the nerve to say I was arguing when in fact I was asking questions. I told them both several times that if I was going to pay them my hard-earned money, I wanted to know the details into these modifications. I wanted to know why the parts from my current water heater couldn't be used on the new water heater when the only issue is that there is a small leak on the bottom of my water heater and my current water heater is not even 4 yes old. Maybe it's ignorance on my part in not knowing what goes into replacing a water heater but I believe I have the right to know if I'm going to spend my money on this company and not just blindly hand them my money.
They came across as very condescending, rude and unprofessional. And of course because they have the mentality of a five-year-old I was basically hit with the ""I know you are but what am I"" line calling me unprofessional. I didn't raise my voice and I didn't use profanity, but I am being called unprofessional because I pushed back a little bit by asking questions before I spent my money with them. I guess they thought I was supposed to just lay there and take it all in and blindly give them my money. The funny thing is I was getting ready to tell them to schedule an appointment for the replacement. I just needed more details as to why I was going to pay for so many modifications. Instead I get hit with the ""back in 2016 the Federal Government passed a"" blah blah blah blah.
Do yourself and your family a favor and do not conduct any business with this unprofessional - joke of a company.
Kira B.They were sent to me through American Home Shield. They quoted us $1,449 to replace our water heater and advised they would be back by 6pm. After reaching out to a neighbor and talking to a company they utilized for a similar issue, we found that they were billing us for a new tank and labor however our current tank was still under warranty as it was only 2.5 years old. So they were planning to charge us for it, then get the credit back. In addition, I noticed that they immediately sent through a authorization on my credit card even though they hadn't rendered services. RED FLAG. I called the office around 4:15 however they were closed so I left a message to cancel the technician as I was not going to pay for a new tank when mine was under warranty. The technician called around 6:50pm to advise he was on his way. #1: it was after 6pm and we hadn't heard a word until then. #2: we advised his services were not needed based on the inflated cost they gave. The manager called back and proceeded to be very disrespectful on the phone. I called the office the next morning and the lady that answered also had a disrespectful tone and attitude once I asked them to reverse the charge given they hadn't serviced anything. She continued to talk over me and advise that I would be charged the full $1,449 because we didn't cancel 24 hrs in advance which was never even discussed. They had already received $100 as they charged that for just showing up to tell us we needed a new tank which we already knew. She said if I wanted my money back to take it up with my credit card company which I indeed will. I had already called them the night before to understand next steps as I had a feeling after reading the reviews there would be an issue. I advised everyone to BEWARE! Take heed to the reviews that you see and don't just use someone because your warranty company recommends them.
