These guys are horrible, rude and not friendly at all starting with the secretary. They came to my house about 3 weeks ago to fix my water heather and took then 15 minutes to replace the heat element but that did not fixed the problem. After two 6 minutes showers, no hot water.
Today they came back because we have been without hot water for TWO days and said that I need a new unit.Because I'm using my Home Warranty, I have to schedule another appointment for them to come back and install the new unit. Also, even doh the Homes Warranty is paying for the new unit, I have to pay $320 out of my pocket for Two new water lines,Nothing wrong with mine) disposal fee, 4 feet drain line and catch pan. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL REGRET.

We found a slab leak the week before our house was supposed to close. Called 2 reputable plumbing companies and received quotes of $1500 to $1700. Then our realtor remembered she had purchased a home warranty on the house that would pay $1000 toward any work. Because we were in a huge hurry we didn't do our due diligence and let them send Athena's to do the work without checking their reviews.
They were quick. They were neat. They were cordial.
And then they gave us the bill for $3900. They, after a lot of us ""expressing our opinion"", grudgingly knocked it down to $3200 due to the fact that their line locators never showed before the work was started. (It took quite an argument to convince them we shouldn't have to pay for something that wasn't done.)
Our contractor came to check the work and almost had a heart attack when we told him what we paid.
Buyer Beware!

Btw - Athena's has no rating with the BBB and lots of negative reviews.

Inexperienced Punks Work for ATHENA's Plumbing Co.... American home Shield sent this Company out... They literally spent 60 seconds and was ready to leave... I had a bathtub problem with the hot/cold valve. It was either hot or scalding Hot. I told the so called professional, and he reached down and man handled it till it unfroze, and said its not broke. I told him I did the same thing a week ago and it froze up again. As he was making excuses, I said aren't you gonna take it apart and see what might be broke inside and/or causing it to malfunction, and he said, No I cant because the home warranty company doesn't like to pay for repairs. I paid the guy to get him out of my sight and called and left a complaint. This was on Jan. 6th, 2016.. I have heard nothing from them with 2 phone calls. I complained to the Home warr. Co. also, but to NO Avail. So I quit AHS, and joined a 9.9 star company from Google called CHOICE HOME WARRANTY. Better prices, and cover more stuff. I can see why the only reason this plumbing company is still in business, is because of the referrals from AHS. If they tried to make it on word of mouth, they'd be in trouble.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. After contacting my home warranty company about the handle of my shower breaking off they referred the service to APC. At first they did not want to come out until 2 days later. After making clear in a firm manner that this was unacceptable because having a young child in the home and it being unsanitary to not be able to flush or wash hands they came out that day. I had to turn off the main water because I was unable to turn off the shower. Carl the technician came at a reasonable time but he was barely able to make it up 15 stairs without dying had to stop at the top of the steps to catch his breath. Then he did not want to go down the stairs to get his tools (which he should of brought with him in the first place) in the fear he wouldn't make it back up the stairs. He had my daughter go down the stairs to get his tools. He was to big to fit in my shower let alone bend over in it to see what he was doing. He told me he was unable to get the cartridge out and that the whole valve needed to be replaced. In order to do that he said we needed someone to cut a hole in the drywall to gain access to the valve. He also referred drylox to come out. When they came out they said there was no need to cut a hole that only the handle needed to be replaced but he continued to try and sell that we needed drywall fixed. There was no leak and the wet dry wall was from the spray when the handle broke off. It will dry out. In the meantime Carl called my home warranty to get authorization to replace the valve, which they denied since that is not considered normal wear and tear. I was out $60 and still had no running water. My husband came home (a truck driver) drilled two screws into the cartridge to have something to pull on and pulled out the cartridge in less than 4 minutes. He replaced it and now it is like new. Never again will this company set foot in mine or any of my friends homes.

I just wanted to put the warning out. The plumbing company Athena's Plumbing Co. or APC was sent to our home on Friday by our home warranty company. We had an AWFUL experience with them.DO NOT let this company into your home. This business has terrible reviews and I wish we had look up the reviews before we allowed him to come in. We trusted that our home warranty would send in a company with good reviews but they did not.
The plumber (and I am pretty sure owner) was two hours late and once he got here he was in such a hurry. We showed in the water mark in our ceiling and he suggested replacing a part around our toilet. Did a terrible job recaulking our toilet. Then he cut a hole in our ceiling, found where the water was dripping through the floor, and immediately told us it was a crack in our bathtub and the whole thing needed to be replace and would cost us over $2500. When a fiber glass tub has a leak it can be patched and it doesn't have to be replaced so he was trying to get some money out of us. We had to pay him $100 for basically nothing. He lied, tried to rip us off, and stole our sheet rock piece that he had cut out of our ceiling. My brother in law (who had to drive over 2 hours) was able to locate the real leak in less than 15 minutes and we spent about $40 on materials. The most expensive material being the sheet rock that the plumber stole. I would hate for any of you to get screwed over by this company!

This company was refered to me by my home warrenty company and they were wonderful. After reading the reviews I was very nervous about using them but My experience with this company was positive. All the technichians that came out were very friendly, informative, and helpful. When I called the office they staff was pleasant and friendly. They worked quickly ns efficently. After this I would use them again.

Do NOT use this company. Misquoted prices from the plumber who visited to the office rep who quoted me $100 more than the plumber quoted for a toilet installation. And my toilet is still broken. The office rep was even further rude and hung up on me. Worst customer service I have had in some time

This company was referred to me by AHS warranty company which I have had for many years. I have never experienced the rudeness from any company the way I did tonight. The lady called me to schedule the appointment for tomorrow. I was pleased with the quickness.

Before the call ended she abruptly and rudely told me that if my husband didn't answer his phone when the technician called that he would go to his next call and I would be rescheduled. I've never heard of such a policy. If I say I'm going to be home...I'm going to be home. What if my baby was crying and I didn't hear the phone? What if there was a circumstance that I didn't have service? So I expressed that I thought that was an interesting policy.

Then she proceeded to tell me in her snarky tone of voice that I needs to pay cash or credit card and if I chose credit card I would be charged a 3% fee. I asked her why I was being forced to pay cash? She basically told me that the bank charges them 3% so they needed to charge the customer?!! Most business DON'T charge their clients the processing fee. She let me knew they don't take checks because they were losing money. Ok. I can understand that, but I shouldn't be punished for others and be charged to use my credit card!

Then she told me because I was being rude and creating a hostile situation, that she would let AHS know that they wouldn't be performing the work.

Ok...your loss. Not mine.

And please consider being more polite and kind to your customers.

Referred to this company by my home warranty.
I have a rental that had a major plumbing issue. I filed my claim with my warranty co. on a Tuesday morning and they immediately sent an email letting me know that APC Plumbing would be calling me within the next 2 hours to schedule the technician. They never called. When I called them they gave me a two hour window the next day. Major plumbing issue being addressed the next day!
They missed the 2 hour window. I called again and was told that the tech is on his way...30 mins. 30 mins passed so I called again. The receptionist hung up on me when I asked for another update. Then the owner of the company called me back. I thought she was going to apologize for her employee hanging up on me. Wrong! She hung up on me too!
Terrible customer service. I'm a small business owner and if I ever hung up on clients, I wouldn't have anymore clients.
APC or Athena Plumbing doesn't care about customer service because they know that they will continue to get referral work from the home warranty company.
DO NOT USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!
