Jose Vasquez just visited our home. He was neat in appearance, professional & very knowledgable in all areas. He is truly an asset to this company. I will recommend him to all our family & friends.
I called to schedule a leak detection. I was told by an unfriendly woman that "It will be a $150 after hours charge and then the plumber will tell you the cost of repairs." I asked what the leak detection cost would be which for virtually every other company is a separate charge and then the repair is quoted. She said I would have to pay the $150 to find out the detection cost. What a crock. No wonder they only get 3 stars in their reviews.
To whom it may concern. For eight years we have enjoyed a great relationship with Wilson. Two months ago our A/C unit finally crashed. We called Wilson and A-Star came to the house. Long story short, we purchased a brand-new complete heat and air system from A-Star. Last Friday our brand-new A/C quit because of a coil leak. The technician told us it would be Monday before he would know if they had a replacement part and A-Star charged us $150 for the after hours service call. Monday arrived only to find out the part had to be ordered. Now it is Thursday evening as I write this and we have been without air conditioning for almost a week. Numerous phone calls were made asking for a manager to call us back. No one has returned our calls. It is obvious to us that A-Star just doesn't care. We have filed a complaint with Trane. We are now posting on as many social media sites as we can. We have found numerous recent complaints about A-Star. Whatever deal that Wilson made with A-Star I hope it was worth it. Because evidently Wilson's customers are suffering as a result. Wilson's customer service used to be top-notch until A-Star came along. Does Wilson care anymore? Sincerely.
Bobbi M.Stay away from this company!! My unit went out a month and a half ago. We called Wilson Heat and Air for someone to come out. First off no one told us that Wilson was being bought out by a company called A Star Heat and Air Plumbing, so imagine my surprise when that van pulls up. Ok, no big deal. He checks over the unit and tells us we need a new one. Ok. It was installed. No problem. It is a Trane, runs great, quite and our power bill is lower! Great, right. Fast forward to Friday July 19. I'm come home and the house is 82!! What??? Why?? I call again I have to pay $150 for an after hours weekend call. Whatever just come out. My husband meets a nice guy and fines that our NEW unit has a leak. Not good for a NEW month and a half old unit. He says he would call me Monday morning to let me know if the part is in stock or has to be ordered. Monday morning....no call. They open at 7 am. I get a text that someone is on their way to my house. I thought yea they have the part, so I call him at 9:38 am. No part and has to be ordered from Florida!! 3 to 5 days no A/C, Jereme said they were trying to work on a temporary solution. I don't hear anything back from anyone the rest of the day. What do my husband and I do with my seven year old and two small dogs. Yep hotel. I call again on Monday at 5:41 pm. We are scheduled for a new part to be put in place Thursday July 25. Well that's nice to know, how come I'm the one calling them just to find this out. At this point I'm at my wits end, this is a brand NEW unit inside and out. I told the lady on the phone I want a refund of my $150 that I paid Friday evening. She said she would let the manager know and that I should call back on the 24th to make sure the part has arrive. I still have not heard from the manager or anyone else from this company. I have had to be the one to call them for a BRAND NEW defective unit. This companies communication is unacceptable, paying for high dollar service on a month old unit is unacceptable and I am now on day 5 with no A/C or temporary solution just to have A/C. I will never used this company again and I will tell everyone I know to NOT use them. Update: Part is still not in and I have still not hear anything from the manager at all. I contacted Trane and place a complaint with Trane against the company. I posted a Facebook post complaint. Still nothing and tomorrow will be day 6 without A/C.
This use to be Wilson's Heating and Air Conditioning, but clearly it's been sold, minus the customer service. I had been a loyal Wilson's customer for over 12 years. I called for my annual service...OMG! When I was presented the bill, the price more than doubled and when I tried to cancel the contract, in 30 days, I was told I can cancel the contract, but they were keeping the balance, over $125.00. I never saw a contract, never signed a contract and was never informed there were no refunds. STAY FAR FAR AWAY from this company. They didn't care I was a long time customer and was basically told to F off.
These folks wanted $3,500 for an estimated 4 hours of labor (to install a tiny $650 room air conditioning unit I purchased separately). That's $875 per hour for labor. And I have to supply any equipment or parts needed. Later, they proposed to lower their price to $750 per hour. LOL. I must've called The Comedy Store by accident.
I had my ac serviced about a month ago after my capacitor gave out. Similar to what Christy L said on her review, they quoted me a price of $375 for the part only. They also recommended an additional piece which the schematic on the unit listed as optional. This he also quoted at $375 but stated they could give me a "bundle" price of $550 for both. It being an extremely hot and uncomfortable day, I agreed to the service. Subsequently, i Googled the parts and discovered they each retailed for less than $25. For the record, the service guy was there less than an hour. I opted to give them the benefit of the doubt and called them to ask for a pricing breakdown since the receipt didn't detail that nor mention anything about warranty. The representative gave me a vague explanation of their "pricing structure" which they needed to pay for all their trucks, blah, blah. All I was expecting was a breakdown of what they charged for the parts and what they charged for labor but he could not/ would not provide that. Will not use them again!
Tyler B.Stay away... stay FAR AWAY. Have been dealing with this joke of a company for about a month now. First I had a gas leak, that took a week for them to repair (of which they failed inspection) and had to come back out again. Guy they sent out originally was very uninformed and had to call his supervisor multiple times to ask very simple questions I had. Finally after the failed inspection the supervisor came out himself & got the leak fixed. I had also asked them to flush my tankless hot water heater which they couldn't do because he forgot the kit. As the holidays rolled around I asked to postpone it until I got back in town. I called yesterday to set it up again, and they say they can come flush it out today around 2 pm. I stay home all day, waiting and waiting and around 4 I call back asking for an update. The incompetent lady on the phone reveals "some lady" called in and cancelled my service. Didn't know what the lady's name was, didn't have a # the call came from, and just cancelled the service. She didn't even think to call me to confirm the cancellation or send me a notification it had been cancelled. This company has terrible customer service, terrible product, and more awful customer service. If you need any plumbing done the right way, and without hassle go find anyone else.
In June, I had both AC units replaced by A-Star Heating and Air. I was told they would return to reinstall the overflow safety switch as the line was leaking. It's now almost 2 months later and they have not been back. I've called 4 times this week alone and no one will return my call. This is completely unacceptable.
I upgraded my review to 3 stars. After I posted this review, they fixed the problem today and were very nice.
Paid over $400 for capacitor replacement! Just realized I've been COMPLETELY overcharged! Should have checked with other companies before agreeing to the replacement. Found out you can get it done for $150 with other companies. WILL NOT BE USING THEM ANYMORE!
