I called A-Star because we were in need of a new HVAC system. The old system had been in the house since 2002 and needed to be replaced. Last winter the the old furnace started sounding like it was trying to escape the attic, and the AC unit was too small to cool the whole house. So after talking to my neighbors next door who had their whole system installed during the summer by A-Star and recommended them. I called them and Salazar came over the next day, he looked at what we had and quoted us a price that we couldn't refuse. He told me nobody was going to beat their quote and he was right! The crew was at our house the next day - on time and ready to start working! They installed a new Trane furnace and AC unit, a new thermostat (the old one was from 1982, so yes, it's so nice to have that), and replaced the ducts also from 1982. Shout out to Victor and Miquel!! After working with this company I can truthfully say they did an excellent job at a great price and I'm very HAPPY with the results. Highly recommended!!!

I had a leak under my home. It took a while to get someone out to find it because of all the winter storm damage, so that was to be expected. The guys who came out found the leak, explained things well, were friendly and professional, so I went ahead and scheduled the recommended repair, scheduled to begin on a Monday.
On Monday, the excavators did not show up, because Thomas, the person who I scheduled the service with, failed to schedule them. The plumber showed up, painted an X on the ground, and left. The excavators came on Tuesday and dug and left. No one updated me on anything, so I called mid-afternoon and was told they needed to schedule the plumbers to do the actual repair, and that my water would need to remain off until then. They got them scheduled for next morning. AT NO POINT was I told this work might involve my water being turned off for over 24 hours.
On Wednesday, after they finished the actual repair, I asked when the excavators would come out to backfill and was told probably the next day. Late in the day, I called the office again and was told they needed to schedule the City Inspector first ... which of course they hadn't done. They called back late Wednesday and said the inspector would be out sometime between 8:30 and 4:30 on Thursday.
On Thursday morning, I was told the inspector just needed pictures of the work, so someone would be coming by to take pictures. When he came by, I expressed by disappointment in how long this process was taking and my frustration with the lack of communication.
It is now Friday morning. I just called the office again, because no one has reached out to me. The backfill is scheduled for Monday morning.
1. The work should have started on Monday.
2. I should have been informed I might be without water for 24+ hours.
3. They should know what the process is in advance, and schedule the next steps WITHOUT ME HAVING TO CALL AND ASK each step of the way.
4. They should have spoken with the City Inspector's office in advance of the work, and taken the pictures the day of the repairs, so we could have been green lighted to schedule the backfill.
5. By the time I have called this many times and expressed my frustration with how this job is being handled, they should have expedited the backfill, or at least called me to update, instead of me having to continue to call them.
It's a real shame, because the plumbers themselves seem knowledgeable, friendly and professional. But I will never use this company again.

We used Nations Home Warranty and they dispatched A-Star twice.
The first occasion was for commode issues. They replaced one commode, fixed the flange on the other, and cleaned out the tree roots from the outside sewer pipe that were causing backups.
On the second occasion, they repaired two sinks/faucets that were leaking, and did a quick fix on the pressure relief valve on the water heater.
Very prompt and courteous service and they got each job done quick.
Can't comment on their pricing since we only had to pay the warranty deductible, but we were VERY pleased with their service, timeliness and professionalism.

Needed emergency services on the weekend. Great response time and really appreciated that we were sent a photo of the professional who arrived on time AND adhered to COVID precautions. Tyrone was excellent! This is our second time using A-Star and will use them again.

The company appears to be nice and staff is friendly however the low stars is due to the sales team. We purchased an a/c unit and they did a good job. However the sales staff attemps to intimidate customers to "upsell" by claiming to void the warranty if you don't sign up for their maintenance or their duct cleaning services. Speaking as a HR professional; I hope ownership doesn't promote this behavior from staff.

We had a leak at our faucet outside that was coming into the house. AStar got us on the books right away, and showed up exactly when they said they would. The plumber was wearing a mask, which I liked, and explained everything to me, as well as the cost. He was professional and very quick. I highly recommend them!!! They have excellent customer service and I couldn't be happier with the work that they do.

Went through our home warranty (Nations) and they called quickly and serviced us within 2 hours regarding our disposal.
The plumber Luis was polite, dressed in a nice company logo embroidered polo, a professionally wrapped newish/clean van and wore new disposable gloves and a mask during this COVID 19 pandemic.
He spent 30-45 minutes and cleaned up behind himself. Highly professional and they seem to be an outstanding company. I'm glad we have Nations Home Warranty and that they work with A-Star...

Jose Vasquez just visited our home. He was neat in appearance, professional & very knowledgable in all areas. He is truly an asset to this company. I will recommend him to all our family & friends.

I called to schedule a leak detection. I was told by an unfriendly woman that "It will be a $150 after hours charge and then the plumber will tell you the cost of repairs." I asked what the leak detection cost would be which for virtually every other company is a separate charge and then the repair is quoted. She said I would have to pay the $150 to find out the detection cost. What a crock. No wonder they only get 3 stars in their reviews.

To whom it may concern. For eight years we have enjoyed a great relationship with Wilson. Two months ago our A/C unit finally crashed. We called Wilson and A-Star came to the house. Long story short, we purchased a brand-new complete heat and air system from A-Star. Last Friday our brand-new A/C quit because of a coil leak. The technician told us it would be Monday before he would know if they had a replacement part and A-Star charged us $150 for the after hours service call. Monday arrived only to find out the part had to be ordered. Now it is Thursday evening as I write this and we have been without air conditioning for almost a week. Numerous phone calls were made asking for a manager to call us back. No one has returned our calls. It is obvious to us that A-Star just doesn't care. We have filed a complaint with Trane. We are now posting on as many social media sites as we can. We have found numerous recent complaints about A-Star. Whatever deal that Wilson made with A-Star I hope it was worth it. Because evidently Wilson's customers are suffering as a result. Wilson's customer service used to be top-notch until A-Star came along. Does Wilson care anymore? Sincerely.
