This guy is the superman of home improvement.. Anything I've thrown at him, things that have left me completely stumped and at a loss for hope - he's come in to save the day.. From electrical to plumbing to cabinet work.. He's taken such good care of me and I have always been impressed by the speed and precision of his work.
I have been getting ongoing help from Jim for over 3 years now and he will always show up on time, be courteous, shows up with a very pleasant ""can-do"" attitude, and will even give you great advice on how to go about your home improvement or maintenance projects (he's even given me advice on how to get things done cheaper than calling him if I could). Ethically a very honest person, and professionally - very highly qualified..
Some of the projects I have worked with him on:
New energy efficient pool pump
Smart device/home automation
Rewiring (just because I didn't like where something was)
Cabinetry modification (removed an old wetbar from my living room within an hour or so, eliminated pipes and patched it all up again, and opened up my kitchen cabinetry to install a double electric wall oven)
Bathrooms (bathtub replacement, shower door replacement)
Plumbing (fixed plumbing issues / helped replace faucets)
Trouble shooting advice (leak in roof)
Adding a new window to my living room.
Redid wiring for my video doorbell to be in the right place to record properly.
Added led floodlighting to my backyard, where there was no wiring or electrical box to do so.. Installed conduit and all!
This morning, I had some reservations about a flooring guy I'm using - and even though it benefitted Jim in no way, he spent a good 30 minutes walking me through some pros and cons and coming to a decision.
My superhero in an orange t-shirt.. Thanks for everything Jim!

It took Jim no longer than a day to get back to my messages- for the most part, and it's nothing that 6 ceiling fans and a TV can't wait for. He confirmed our appointment 2 days prior to the initial work day and arrived at 12pm, ON THE DOT, as scheduled. He took a quick tour of the house to see where the ceiling fans and TV will be installed/ mounted, and got to work immediately. He had all the tools he needed and even threw in some freebie screw-in things to mount our 65"" TV over the fireplace (there were no studs behind, so needed additional support), and I thought it was pretty generous of him. The project took 4 hours total, which includes- removing 5 old and rusty ceiling fans and mounting 6 new ones (two 60"", one 52"", three 42""), and mounting a 65"" TV over the fireplace. Jim only charged us for 3 1/2 hours ($120 per hour X 3.5= $420). He also adjusted our non-functioning front light and now it works fine. Once done, we were already discussing about future projects! We will be scheduling with him again shortly.

I read the awesome Yelp reviews and thought Jim could be the guy to get some things fixed around our house. Unfortunately he's impossible to get ahold of. I called once and his mailbox was full. I tried another day and it went to voicemail-- I left a message, never heard back. I tried again a few days later trying to give him the benefit of the doubt-- his mailbox was full again. I texted him. He responded right away saying he was on a roof, could we connect that night? Never heard from him. You can Ask Jim to Fix It, but good luck getting him to respond. I'm glad he's doing so well that he doesn't need our business. I'll be looking elsewhere-- I'd rather have someone responsive and reliable.

Really appreciate Jim's honesty. Light bulb went out in the garage. Changed one but still not working. Jim came and found out that I just had 2 bad light bulbs. Didn't charge me a cent. Very nice. Guess who I'm going to call next time when I need work done around the house...

I sent Jim a message through Yelp about a pendant light that I was having problems with. He made a suggestion as to what the problem was, and I was able to fix it myself. Turned out to be a very simple fix. Thank you!!

I can't say enough about Jim. He's come out to help me out three times now; once a while back at a rental where the landlord refused to help with a roof leak when his guy couldn't figure it out (Jim diagnosed the problem), and twice now at my new home to help with ceiling fans, appliance install, and electrical issues. Not only does he do great work, quickly, but he's also a genuinely good guy.
An example of the latter point: Jim and I had agreed on a price ahead of time for some work we had discussed on the previous trip. He came out (on-time), did his thing, and then when it came time to settle up, he refused to take all of the money we'd agreed upon because he felt the time he spent didn't warrant the original price, even though all the work we'd discussed was completed. How often does that happen?
If you're looking for help with projects or repairs around your house, don't look any further - Jim's the man! I certainly won't be calling anyone else for any future needs...

I like to give credit where credit is due...we hired Jim again for our rental in El Sobrante...and again top notch work! Jim is great, no-nonsense, quick, efficient, knowledgeable, and reasonable. Highly, highly recommend.

Jim was great - I called him when my newly purchased oven wouldn't fit. He came over the very next day, and made what I had work with a simple and effective solution. Professional, friendly, and a can-do perso

Great job Jim came earlier than expected did the job quickly and professionally. Would use him again.

Jim was absolutely fabulous! And I don't say that lightly. But praises are due when they're due! Jim came out on the same day we called, looked at all of the things we needed done - a broken sink, a broken back door latch, a non-working porch light, a non-working hall light and a jammed wall outlet and made all of them good as new in an hour! That's right an hour. No hassling, no haggling and no nonsense. I think probably the most remarkable thing (aside from the awesomely quick and expertly done work) was the price! We called another handyman and after waiting days for a quote we received a $565 monstrosity to fix the five things we asked to be repaired. And that was just for the labor! Parts were an additional fee! Jim's price - parts and labor was 80% less!! That right ... 80%!! That means we can take a plane ride to LA, go out to dinner, get a massage, and spend the night in a nice hotel with all of the money we saved! Parents weekend get-a-way and the house is fixed up!Thank you Jim!!!! Will we call Jim again for any handyman needs? Definitely! Should you call Jim today? Most Certainly!!!
