I called this company after a horrible experience with another plumber who left my sink clogged and dirty.  I saw good reviews on Angies List for Artisan Plumbing and decided to give them a try.

I made the appointment for 6:30pm and was pleasantly surprised when Kenny called me at 6pm to say he was in the area and asked if I would like him to come a little early.  (I was especially shocked being that my last plumber was almost 3 hours late without so much as a phone call!)

Ken Pierce was extremely polite and professional.  He assessed my sink and took the time to explain what the problem was and even showed me what the different pipes/tubes were to give me a better understanding of what was going on.

He was very thorough and completed the job in a little over an hour.  He also brought his own towels to use to clean up the water/dirt (something my last plumber did not do and left me with a huge pile of soaking wet dirty towels in my sink to clean up after he left!).

I had some cleaning supplies from under the sink and Ken asked if it was alright to use some of them.  He then started to spray and clean under the sink as well as the sink itself which had caked on food particles from the sink being clogged which the last plumber left.  (I couldn't clean it myself yet because after the first plumber left the sink was still clogged and I couldn't run the water).

When Ken was finished my sink was working great and was very clean.  I really appreciated the extra steps he took to ensure I didn't have to clean up after him.  I highly recommend Artisan Plumbing.  He left me with some business cards, which I will pass out to friends.

Thanks for the great service!  I will definitely be using you again!

To whom it may concern,

I hired Artisan Plumbing and heating, Ken Pierce, to fix a leak in a pipe in my basement, replace my shower / tub Control faucet and spout, and finally to replace the bathroom sink faucet and drain. I had my own new Sink faucet by Moen, which was new but I had for a while.

He, Ken, came to my house and provided an estimate. The estimate was for the tub and shower control from Moen which he would provide, the sink faucet replaced with my faucet, and the fix of the leak. I then asked what he would add if I asked for him to provide a matching Sink faucet to the shower faucet. He added $50 bringing the complete estimate to $950.00. Roughly 6 hours at $130 per hour for two men he told me.

The next day, I emailed him asking what was the model he was proposing to use so I could decide if it was good, or if I should go out and get my own hardware, faucets. He provided me with a response of the model, which I looked up and said was good, He was to get a matching Sink faucet.

Ken arrived to perform the work on the day agreed too. He proceeded to do the shower first, while I stayed out of his way. Ken then did the Sink never showing me that what he got for a faucet was something cheap, that I learned later, was from Glacier Bay . Even the drain was plastic. I only saw this after he did the install. I questioned him and he tried to tell me in the world of plumbing, hatching means the finish, chrome to chrome, and the two handle system is very popular. Keeping in mind the model of the shower faucet was a single handled design, which is what I wanted for the sink, plus the quality of Moen.

While I was staying out of his way, being in the next room, I heard ken test the shower and sink, so I heard the water running, and thought that if was working. I later found that the cold was hot, and the hot was cold. Ken didn't even check his work. Mistakenly, I gave him a check for the full amount of the estimate. Immediately, the next morning, I called Ken, and told him of the issue and that I was very unhappy with his choice of sink faucet. I said I will get a true matching faucet by model to the show faucet he installed and he agreed to replace them. If he would not have agreed, I would have placed a Stop payment on my check. We argued over him returning to me the cost of the $50 faucet, while the new faucet I purchased was close to $100. I was still expecting Ken to change the faucets, and we would discuss the cost of his mistake.

It was a day or two later, while waiting for the sink faucet to be delivered, I saw that there where Nicks in the shower wall next to the shower control. I have a vision issue, which is why I did not see this damage immediately.

Once the new faucet arrived, I notified Ken that I had the new faucet in hand and we agreed for a day and time he would show up to replace the sing faucet and drain. Ken arrived as planned, and began to work. I even handed him the new faucet. In a very short time, he stared to collect his stuff and started leaving. I asked where he was going, he was not finished. All he did was straighten out the hot and cold, and ran out. I yelled for him to return form the window. H called me a minute latter, and stated that he would not work for me any more. I told him if he did not return, I would be left with no choice but to hire someone else to complete the job and file a suite in small claims court, which ken responded, GOOD LUCK.
