Recommended Customer Reviews

ARS is a very large company that deals in just about any kind of home repair, from plumbing to AC repair and installation. Their repair personnel, installers and technicians are some of the best. HOWEVER, if you like paying from 200% to 1000% more than most companies charge, then they are for you.
That 1000% figure is from personal experience. I was charged $375 for a part that I learned later retailed for $35. To add a little salt to my wounds the part, a surge protector, wasn't even needed. During the same service call, the repairman replaced a capacitor on my AC unit, adding another $350 to the bill. And guess what it retailed for? $48 at W.W.Graingers. The unit was under warrenty but he said a power surge caused it and wouldn't be covered.
After over a month calling and arguing with the company, they finally refunded the cost of the capacitor but refused to admit the surge protector was not needed nor over priced. I'll never let these crooks anywhere near my property again.

I called them because they show 24 hour emergency service. Spoke with an operator about 6pm on Saturday who took my info and said I'd be hearing from a tech shortly. I hadn't heard anything by 10pm so I called back. Operator said there was an error in adding info to the notes and the tech wasn't notified. Operator then stated they could set up an appt for Monday. I explained I needed the 24 hour emergency service that was on their website and that's why I called them. She didn't apologize. Instead stated again she would set up an appt for Monday. I told her no thank you. Sunday night I get a text from them reminding me of my Monday appt. I called to tell them I never agreed to an appt. The operator asked to put me on hold so she could find the info. I refused to wait on hold due to the fact I had already wasted too much of my time with this company. Terrible customer service. 24 hour emergency service is not true.

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!! They lie, try to do things you don't need and don't show up after they've promised they would.

We have been a loyal customer with ARS since 2013 after they installed a brand new Carrier system. We used ARS for routine PM ever since and on occasion took in some special offer from them (air scrubber, etc.)
We really dislike their 4 hour appointment window set up but have learned to live with it. There were times the appointment window has passed and we have to initiate the call the office (instead of ARS to make the call as a courtesy) only to find out that the technician was on an emergency job and will be late for ours. We don't mind the hardship (take off from work and wait at home) for good reason; hence, the communication is very important to us and frankly ARS does not come close to fulfill it. There is an old saying "customer is the reason we are in business" and ARS just don't see it.
We didn't set up the PM this time and only we received the call from the office to set up the appointment. The appointment was set up for 5/20 between 10-2 window and we stayed at home patiently waiting for the technician. We called the office after the 4 hr window has passed only to find out that they overbook the tech (it appears that ARS employed the overbooking strategy from the airline) and he can't do it today. Needless to say, we are furious about it just because it happened again. ARS just aren't learning from the past and therefore, they have lost their credibility and business with us.

I bought my a/c unit from them and they were always professional. but now it seems they have gotten too big for their customers. If you can get them to come out to you they are late and or don't even show up. I have been waiting hours now after my 3 year old a/c quit working and still nothing no one has shown up and when I call they are just rude to me and won't even tell me a time line and or even an apology. One of the people started getting ghetto in her voice and acted like she was inconvenienced just to talk to me and said she was transferring me to dispatch and hung up on me. I think I will start to go with another company that actually want customers. It is a shame another good company going down the drain due to the lack of customer service.

Paid 17,000 for 2 Carrier complete air conditioning units, 14 months later it broke and they wanted more money to fix the problem, on top of that they were trying to up sale me on other things instead of worrying about my problem.

This company actually does not deserve any stars. They do not keep appointments, overcharge for repairs, and give customers the run around. I would get calls from the dispatch telling me they would be out at a certain time but they would never show up. When I called to complain and ask if they are coming and if they had the right part they assured me they did and would be out the following day but again no show. How would you like to go 4 days without hot water?
It took 4 days to get a their plumber out to repair a water heater valve and then charged me a ridiculous price.
When you ask to speak to a manager to complain you are told it would take several days for a call back.
Homeowners stay away from this company!!!!!

This review is about the ARS in Webster, TX servicing the Sugarland/Missouri City area. No one paying for services should waste their money with this company. Since they are a Home Depot authorized provider I have decided not to shop at Home Depot anymore either, since they guarantee the ARS service and they are aware of the poor services being rendered. I scheduled and paid $79 per toilet to have 3 toilets installed, after purchasing them from Home Depot and paying for pickup and delivery. They scheduled for 2 installers to come out because of the number of toilets I needed installed. They said it was too much for 1 plumber. The scheduled service window came and went with no service. When I called an hour before the end of the window, the receptionist told me my appointment was for later that day, 1-5 pm. I knew that was not the case because I put the time in my calendar at the time the appointment was made. I even took off from work, immediately after the conversation to ensure I'd be there. That was the first indication that I wasn't dealing with a reputable company. The manager and the technician were very rude and disrespectful. The manager talked over me, gave false promises and then at the end of day called to tell me the installers wouldn't be able to come until next week. When I insisted he honor the appointment he said he would only provide 1 installer and he would be late. He then proceeded to talk over me and eventually hung up on me. When I immediately called back I was told he was gone and then told he was on a conference call. As I headed back to Home Depot to cancel my order a technician called me to say he was assigned to my install but he wouldn't be at my home until the next day. When I told him his manager said he was to come that evening he actually screamed at me telling me that he'd just told me he was in Pasadena and he wouldn't be there that evening. I then told him he could not come to my home at all, don't pick up the toilets, and I was cancelling the order. He then hung up on me. It was obvious to me that the behavior of the manager was being copied by his employees. They lied about the time, disrespected their customers, and didn't honor the scheduled appointments. I cancelled the order from Home Depot and then went to Lowe's and purchased the same toilets, pickup/delivery service, and install services at a $400 savings. I will NEVER use any ARS company and will NEVER shop at Home Depot again. Home Depot accepts the behavior of ARS and they both have poor customer service. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money and precious time. When you read the comments of others you can see a consistent complaint.

They came to home and told me I needed to replace the coils for $4000 And the drain line because it was plugged and that was another $1200. I asked him to just unplug for now. I was told that ARS does not allow their technicians to blow out drain lines. He kept telling me I really needed to replace the whole unit which would have been $9000. I asked him to leave the quotes and called H-town AC. They came within the hour and blew out my lines and it is working fine now. This is the second issue I have had with ARS in a month, don't think I'll be calling them again,

After seeing the negative reviews on them I was doubtfull. But I was taught always give a person a chance. I was glad that I did because Bresnet Parra and Cass Vasques who were the technicians came out and did a great job. They cleaned up behind themselves and the price was cheaper than other quotes I got. They deserve a great job acknowledgement
