My 3-year old daughter flushed my husband's heirloom wedding ring down the toilet. The ring was his grandfather's ring and is the only thing my husband has from him after he passed. We found out a full day after it actually happened that it was flushed and thought for sure it was in the sewer and long gone. For peace of mind, I called ARS Rescue Rooter. Tom Greer came, gave me my options and then got to work. Within minutes he came back in the house and told me he located the ring - even described it - within our pipes under our house. He was so patient and worked to push it though and retrieved the ring!! I can not tell you how happy we are -- especially my husband. Tom Greer at ARS saved us!!!!

We have been a long time customer of ARS. We have had many jobs scheduled with them and their entire service has gotten worse and worse. This week was the last straw. One electrician came out to look at a breaker box and some wiring. He showed up over 40 minutes late after calling and saying he was on the way. Nothing is wrong with the breaker box but the wiring needs to be redone. I asked for an estimate to which the tech replied it would be about 250-350 dollars. We had to schedule another appointment for the electrician to come out to do the wiring as the person that showed up was not allowed to do the wiring. Called and got another appointment and scheduled more time off work, the master electrician said it would be over 1000 dollars. I think not! He told me the first person would have to honor the price even tho they can't do the work. huh? I left a message for the first person (Richard) to call me and he informs me today that the master electrician quit that morning and they will no longer be able to do any of the work. We paid for the original service call with the understanding the money spent would go toward the price of rewiring. Guess that was a big lie too.

I had a clogged floor drain on a Saturday morning that was flooding the bedroom next door. Miguel arrived (on what was supposed to be his day off) within 2 hours of my placing the call. He brought in 2 different augers, worked for an hour very hard, and then said my problem was in the floor pump. Long story short, he said there would be no charge because he didn't fix the problem. i told him he saved me from ShopVacing all weekend I insisted he charge me something. He said he cancelled the ticket, but I told him to call in a new one. I again insisted he get paid for working a full hour. Wow! I was impressed. Miguel was very professional and hard working.

I would give negative stars if that was an option. I've tried to cancel a maintenance contract for over a year and keep getting charged. No one show for the scheduled appointment, hence the cancellation. Now no one in management or accounting will follow through with ending this arrangement. So frustrating.

I did finally have a person in billing contact me only AFTER the BBB contacted them regarding the matter. She apologized and "understood my frustration about the matter" and did refund me. It was too little, too late though and I have cancelled all services with ARS and will never use them or recommend them to anyone.

Here is my experience with ARS, we have received a coupon from ARS for a 89.00 and decided to redeemed the coupon we called made an apt spoke with the woman on the phone and said no problem we will be there the following day between 10 to 2 then the following day we received a call from the same woman on the phone said they will be there to unclog the drain we had two other Roto Rooter services unclog this drain in the courtyard in the past. I do believe they were one of them which would take a hour to unclog. Well we had a tech come out and said before he start working you must sign this contract and we did not knowing they were tacking on a 15 dollar truck and equipment fee.................nor did the woman on the phone tell us ................makes no sense. so he was charged us 104 dollars using the 89.00 coupon. No problem right ..................wrong!! Did you know I called for an explanation on the weird charge on the extra service fee and the man said I never heard of this we did not know anything about this charge. and furthermore claimed they don't do drains in the courtyard and the 89.00 should not apply? Be warned this is not explaining this at all. I couldn't care less what the charges were if in reason but to tack on a 15 extra service for a ridiculous reason..................should be looked into. Sadly AVOID this business for customer service is not in there program. This is a cheesy practice to suck more money out of you without zero reason!

Let's start at the beginning:
Nothing but rudeness and condescending attitude.
I asked for a simple repair on an (admittedly) older unit. It simply needed a new fan motor.
The job was poorly done, with wires sticking out the top of the outside unit.
He left the indoor unit on, and kept the outdoor unit off, resulting in everything icing up.

The tech then said that it would be cheaper that I get a new unit, because my Freon unit was obsolete. He kept harping and arguing about what I truly needed, because, (magically) the unit was low on Freon. It was serviced a month ago, and that tech said my unit had plenty of Freon. (That company is bad, too)

They came out the next day and installed a three-ton unit for an 800 square foot mobile home. It needs no more than two tons. The installers were polite enough, and did an ok job.
But when I complained about the size of the unit, one of them called their boss, who then called me, and berated me, telling me that the larger size (both physically and in tonnage) was more efficient. He said he would pull the new unit, but they had already detached and destroyed the old outdoor unit, and I would have had nothing.
The price was also more expensive than average, even for a three-ton unit.

What a load of crap.
Not only was I bullied into a larger unit than what I need, but the electrician and the city inspectors never came out on the days scheduled.
The piece of crap furnace is also not working.

Well, this sux. I was told I needed a new HVAC system. I was told I needed one that was too large for my tiny house.
The furnace was fixed yesterday, after a month of ownership.
It is not working today.
Thanks a lot ARS rescue rooter. Your service has been abominable.

Here's an update:
The A/C is not working.
The outside unit is not functioning. Did everything I know to get the unit working.
This is so not right.
