Gas water heater pilot light would not come on over the weekend. My wife called a 24hr plumbing third party service and was connected with this company. Was told a service rep would arrive between 11-3pm. At 4pm I called to confirm appt since I had not heard from them. A "journeyman" and apprentice showed up at 4:45pm. They both took a total of 5 minutes doing only a visual inspection of water heater other than trying to re-light the pilot. Then they wrote up estimates for repair, and replacement of a whole new water heater. They wanted $1000 to repair my unit but couldn't tell me what root cause of problem was cause they hadn't even removed anything for inspection. They suggested $2000 for a new unit after telling me a couple fittings on top were leaking water assuming I couldn't stand on a ladder as well to see they were clearly NOT leaking and drip pan was bone dry. After calling them out for the poorest troubleshooting skills I've ever seen and told the apprentice I felt sorry for the training he's receiving, I politely asked them to leave the premises since the journeyman was so irritated at me calling his reasons out for spending so much money on something probably less than $50 he said he had to step away and leave the negotiation to his apprentice. In the end, I removed the burner assembly to find a cold solder joint on the thermocouple which took me 15 minutes to repair start to finish. I would give them less than one star if possible.

Called and set up an appt. for Saturday for a repair person to look at our water softner, since we are not sure if it needs repair or just replaced. No one showed up, but they called and said they moved our appt. to the next day, again, no one showed up. I finally received a call about 5pm. I am not impressed with this crap customer service, apparently we are not important enough to keep an appointment by this company. Won't be calling this place again.

Scheduled an emergency call out to our office due to toilets backing up - probably a simple snake out of the pipes. The dispatch gives me a 4 hour window of when he might give me a call, I tell her we will be closed during the middle of that window but I'd wait around for his call. She checks my phone number and assures me he will call me at least 30 minutes before he shows up. I finally call them after waiting the four hours to find out he showed up, saw the office was closed and left. I never received the promised call, and nobody at dispatch sounded very sorry about it. Toilets are still backed up, with no recourse as I thought I had the problem solved. Plus I burned 4 hours of my time waiting on someone who's time was obviously more valuable than mine. Really hate that I just spent over $4500 at our home on A/C ductwork and bought a service contract. Our office will never use this service again.

ARS installed HVAC system back in 2007/2008. It has been working okay but for cooling, unable handle 100+ degree days very well and electric bill very high in summer. (We do keep house at 72 at night though) would give 2 stars for installation due to high overhead cost of sales etc. and general process. We had then purchased yearly service package around 2013 and put in a call for poor cooling in the summer. The ARS technician came out and serviced system as part of maintenance and said we needed new AC unit. I was not happy in that ARS had sold me system that was going to last a little over 5 years or so. I Then called different guy for second opinion. He was able to service unit properly and said this system had years more life. It is still up and running in 2017.

Had a tech out to look at our furnace that was not turning on. After a 10 minute review I was told there was a crack in our heat exchanger and that we needed a new furnace. They would be happy to do it for $3,500. The tech spent the rest of his visit selling me on a unit and the "extra" services offered for a significant fee. I told him "no thanks" and that I would be getting a second opinion. Called a local HVAC firm and they came out immediately and spent 30 minutes looking things over. He said the heat exchanger was fine and that there was insulation on one of the burners and a sensor needed cleaning. He spent another 30 minutes making adjustments so my unit would run more efficiently. He said the furnace was in great shape and had a lot more life left in it. The furnace has been working perfectly since his work a weeks ago. They charged me $99. I am done with ARS and their goal of constantly trying to get me to replace my hot water heater, AC unit, furnace etc. I will never use this firm again.

I was happy that this company was able to come out on such short notice but I'm greatly upset about the service that was recommended. I discovered a leak in my sons bathroom over the weekend. There was water flowing underneath a cabinet that housed my sons sinks.
I was told directly from the company when scheduling that there would not be a fee for the plumber to come out and assess the problem. I was specifically told when the technician finds the problem he will give you a bid to repair and then go from there. The technician (master plumber) immediately said there would be a $200 fee to diagnose the problem. As expected he then cut two holes in the dry wall to get access to the pipes under the sink. He didn't put his hands on the wall to inspect the pipes but simply said the problem was a broken pipe in the foundation. He proceeded to tell me the cost would be just under $4000 to repair.
I got a second opinion from a smaller company that was recommended by my homeowners policy. It took the plumber less than 5 minutes to detect that the problem was in fact a leaky pipe going into the sink (please see attached video). Honestly I don't know if the plumber with ARS was trying to make an extra buck or if it was a true misdiagnosis. I have contacted ARS asking for a refund and have sent the video to a supervisor. I have not heard anything in response from ARS.

Blaze is the technician that came to my house on Oct 23, 2017. He basically saved my house. I can not stress enough what a remarkable professional he was. What happened is my tenants had broken a pipe on Oct 21st, while they were in the process of moving out. They didn't tell me about it until the next day, and then told me all that happened was a little water got on the floor that they wiped up. They made it sound completely non-emegent, so when ARS said the soonest they could come out was Monday, I said that was fine, I still had a week before I was planning on moving in. Blaze met my tenant there and called me immediately to let me know my house had been flooded. I was there within 20 minutes, in a TOTAL PANIC. He was incredibly calming and professional. My tenant took a good 30 minutes deciding if they were going to pay for the plumbing, and I don't think they would have if Blaze hadn't been able to so calmly explain how the pipe had broken. While my tenant spent forever on the phone trying to decide if they were going to actually take responsibility, Blaze calmly toured me around the house, pointed out the water damage, but also went over the plumbing issues I should consider taking care of in the next year or so. We discussed the age of my water heater, and he even climbed into my attic to check what looked like a minor leak, just to make sure it was actually minor. He wrote me up estimates of work I'd like to have done in the future, and when my tenant finally authorized him to fix the pipe, he got right to work, and was actually able to do it for a lower price then he quoted them. Oh, and I don't want to forget this, he also knew which drying company worked with insurance claims and within two hours, the drying company was getting things set up at my house to prevent any mildew from growing. I would have had literally no idea how to proceed, and Blaze was just....fantastic. Because of him, my house is now totally dry and has working water, and I can move into it. I can not say enough good things about this company and Blaze specifically. Thank you so much for saving my house and my sanity. :)

Scheduled service with them a week in advance. They called after the time they were to show up and said they were running late. They wanted to schedule for following week but I needed them now. They agreed to the following day and time. They never showed and tried calling again after the time to reschedule. Go find another company.

Please please please think before hiring. Once the work is done the warrantied work (13k of work) is nearly impossible to get the right person to come out afterwards to fix any problems. You will be passed around serval times and wait countless hours for the right person to solve the problems and end up paying for the warrantied work again because they did not do "all" of the work when previously. Complete mark up and prey on older people.
