Disconnected my central air unit due to late payment. (Which is illegal) Quoted $149 then tried to charge $300 just for touching the unit. Nothing was wrong with the unit. He looked inside and had to fix nothing.

ARS installed Mitsubishi mini splits with 3 heads through Home Depot in 2018. we Just had an issue with Freon leak, The copper lines were compromised by any inferior insulation . Ryan and Sheldon were here on time and on price to resolve the issue. Very professional, neat, and kept me in the loop throughout the process. I would recommend ARS if you can get Ryan or Sheldon.

ARS left me in the lurch on my Lennox heat pump system. They installed it back in 2021, contracted by Home Depot. It worked fine for that summer, but I've had to have them back 4 times now (and paid hundreds of dollars) to fix ""P6"" errors stemming from refrigerant loss. On the last visit they finally identified the issue - a leak in the basement line that's likely been there since day 1. Unfortunately, identifying the problem is all they did. Despite a promised follow-up, it's been 10 days, and I don't even have a date for when they will come out and fix the line. I have called in twice and got non-committal stalling both times.

ARS also tends to over-promise and under-deliver when it comes to scheduling appointments in general. Every time I have requested service they've promised to come out immediately and then delayed on the planned day. This is really frustrating, since I have to put my life on hold and wait for them at my home to (not) show up.

I purchased Lennox Heating unit and AC unit together 6 years ago from ARS with 10 years warranty on parts, recently AC coil got broken, I called them for replacing coil, they kept me in the process more than a month , every time I called them, they were saying no ETA on the part. After month waiting long, they told me that, coil not covers 10 years warranty, that information nowhere mentioned when they sold the product. ARS customer service is not good, there is no follow up for my messages, their service is expensive too. It is waste of time and money when you hire ARS, I strongly recommend, don't hire ARS for any type of work.

Great service and support from ARS. The 2 man team were efficient, patient, and everything was done perfectly and we were happy they could put in a pressure reducing valve!

5.8.23 the Ars tech just left and I'm fuming. They did my original water heater install October 2020. No issues until the water heater let go this weekend and I have water all over my basement. I called ars emergency line on Saturday and Chrissy quoted me $129 for a tech to come resolve the issue. She said if someone frees up I could be that night or Sunday morning. She later calls to tell me no one is on call and charge would be $149 and instead it would be Monday morning between 3pm-4pm after I got out of work. She later calls to say time won't work it would have to be 8am-10am so I had to call out of work. Now after looking at my water heater for 2 minutes guys says he'd have to do a warranty swap and they charge $1600. I say that's a lot and he says well they can do $1400. So I look up my original purchase and it was for $1680 new install water heater. So what is the warranty covering $280? Not even cause now I'm charged 100+ dollars for a tech to tell me a higher price bullshit that could've been handled over the phone!

I live in plymouth ma. In 2021 app, we intalled two Hp ac/heat systems with Ars. About a month ago I notice water on the floor by one system and new it was time to replace one of the condensor pumps. I went online to purchase one, but could not get info off of the present pump. So, in the past with ars they have charged me about $80 for a pump. So sense I did not have the right info, I called ars to come and replace the pump. When the tech showed up , i told him to replace both as they only last about two years.
He looked up the price, almost gave me a heart attack, $1200.00 installed. I thought he was kidding. He did knock the price down to $900. which was still robbery! I took the info off of one the the pump boxes after he left and went on amazon with the now known info and ordered the exact same pumps two for $104. delivered. I now will change them out in the future myself as it is as easy as opening your car door.Takes litterally about 20 min.
If i could go negative on my review I would.

Waste of time and money. They charge an estimate fee and then try to to upsell a whole new system which has nothing to do with the original problem. They did not diagnose the issue whatsoever. We ended up getting a second and third opinion which weren't even close to how much they wanted to charge. We've had work done with them prior and their warranty is only one year. This place is a joke, find someone else.

I called ARS of Boston to check out why my AC wasn't running. I had recently replaced my capacitor and contactor in my outdoor condenser, I also thought possibly my control board was bad so I ended up replacing that but still could not get my unit running. Decided to call ARS since I couldn't get my unit to run and I gave up. Will came over, but to no avail, also could not figure it out so he called another employee and found my condenser was wired incorrectly on the air handlers control board inside. When he found the wiring, it was wired on the Y terminal and the R terminal. He then switched it so the condenser was wired on the R terminal and the C terminal (condensers are suppose to be Y and C since when the thermostat calls for cooling, 24 VAC is energized on the Y terminal and causes the contactor to engage and turn on the outdoor unit, as I found out afterwards), he then jumped the thermostat out and the system ran. He then diagnosed the issue as a bad thermostat. He quoted me $1100 to install a new thermostat which I declined and decided to pay over $600 to keep the wiring in the state he left it since I was not 100% if he changed anything else that I possibly could have done wrong. After replacing the thermostat, the system would not run, i then checked the schematic in my air handler and realized the correct wiring for the condenser is Y and C and the thermostat wiring should be Y for cooling, W for heating, R for power, G for fan and C for common. I ended up having to change the condenser wiring anyways at the control board. After putting the new thermostat in, and correcting the condenser wiring, and having to replace a fuse, my system ran. Paid over $600 basically to just having to fix it again myself. Also left my attic door wide open, left my condenser open (he found it like that but I'd think he would close it since I paid over $500 for ""re-wiring""). Way over priced to just end up fixing it myself. It was a bad thermostat which he was correct, but the ""re-wiring"" was wrong! $150 to have them come out and $500 for ""re-wiring"", then just had to fix it anyways. Go somewhere else!

ARS IS NOT HONORING THEIR 1 YEAR GUARANTEE. Will need to take case to the Board of Licensing to look into bait and switch practices.

An 18 SEER air conditioning unit replaced with a 13 SEER unit.
The new unit does not cool house properly and is not compatible with the indoor unit. ARS switched the 18 SEER UNIT WITH A 13 SEER, INFERIOR UNIT AND DID NOT ADVISE ME OR THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER.. is was observed by ARS tech in written quote and the Lennox Tech support THAT ARS INSTALLED THE WRONG UNIT.

ARS tech was sent to service an outside AC leak and at this time I learned that ARS installed the wrong outside unit. The tech acknowledged the leak, advised that he could not locate it, but did not perform a dye test in order to locate it. PRETTY BASIC.

Requested a refund during the 1 year guarantee period. Appears ARS is not honoring their Easy Refund Policiy. WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR EXCELLENT SERVICE AND THEIR EASY GUARANTEE?

Now dealing with ARS Headquarters office and the BBB in Memphis, TN and will be presenting the case to the the MA Attorney General for their BAIT AND SWITCH PRACTICES.
