Poor service after the sale, will not honor warranty of units they install. Brand new Carrier unit installed in 2021. On 01/25 the unit went down. We paid the $109 trip charge and were told it was a faulty fan motor. Easy. We say lets get it fixed and the tech gives us a bill for over $2000. When we ask for a breakdown, and explanation the tech got irate. We stated that we have a parts warranty until 2030 and asked how is it possibly that much to replace? How many hours does it take? He stated 1 - 1.5 hours. But his travel time and shipping costs were the added costs/ money. We felt this wasnt right so we asked for a breakdown. He refused and left. We have two small children and no working AC. The company who installed it refuses to return calls.

Two years ago we went through Home Depot and hired ARS to replace our AC system and duct work at a cost of $17k. At the time of signing the paperwork, the representative told us that we were to also receive a UV light. Now, 2 years later, ARS comes out to do a $69 inspection of our AC and we are told that there is mold in our duct work and we need to spend $1k to add a UV light. They quickly agreed to reduce the cost to $750. I am amazed that what we were told at the time of purchase, and what we thought we were buying, does not match what we actually received. Fortunately, before the representative could install the expensive UV light, I found out that this was a scam and we cancelled the order. I will never use this company again!!!

Buyer's remorse, I should have done my due diligence and gotten several quotes before purchasing. I knew our Florida home A/C was struggling due to high electric bills and trouble with heating. I walked into Home Depot to get a garage door gasket and ended up meeting a couple nice ARS Resue Rooter sales ladies. I showed some interest so before I knew it, a tech was out at the house giving a quote on a new A/C, heat pump and air handler. He seemed knowledgeable but was quite high pressure and insisted that the time was best before the price went up and that there were tax incentives and rebates. We received a couple discounts for different things, and he was nice, so I fell for it. After signing the papers on a Saturday, he said they could install the system the next day on a Sunday and because we were going to be available for just a couple weeks, that seemed weird but OK. The install crew did do a nice job with installing the air handler and the compressor hurricane pad and were friendly. I didn't like that they vented the Freon from the old system into the air because I thought that was illegal. I looked in their truck and they didn't even have a tank to capture the old freon, only a new tank. I asked them about it and they said there wasn't much in it, but I heard a lot of hissing! They were also supposed to flush out the freon lines before refilling with new, but they didn't do that either. After the install, I spoke with some relatives and neighbors that had very recently had new systems installed. It appears that I paid several thousand over comparable systems. The tax incentives that they mentioned didn't turn out to work for me since it wasn't my primary home, and the efficiency was less than my old system. The paperwork for the system was left with me in a big mess and not organized. We have also had to have a couple service calls already due to the Nest thermostat going into runaway heat mode and am not sure that is resolved yet. Summary is that feel that ARS Resue Rooter is a high-pressure installer/repair company that has questionable practices. I am disappointed that Home Depot is involved with a company like that, and I am boycotting Home Depot for future projects. I went in the talk to the manager of the Pinellas Park Home Depot to express my buyer's remorse and he said he would make some calls and get back to me but never did. I wish now every time I look at the compressor outside that I would have shopped around because I am sure I could have gotten a more efficient system for the price I paid.

Allow me to add another comment. It seems ARS sales and service takes advantage of the consumers that are women, elderly, and vulnerable with their sales pitch and clever lies about light bulbs, uv light, and other unnecessary services and hardware. Shame on you. 10 year warranty sounds like peace of mind but I suspect I'll have to remind them and decline the light bulb.

What is with ARS and similar services, with their deceptive practices and up selling. Throw a high number out there and see what sticks. My condenser fan wasn't spinning, and I was told it was a bad fan motor, and they'll replace the capacitor also for -- $1600. W H A T ! ! ! A $123 fan motor and $12 capacitor - what is your labor rate? Than gave me another quote for $5700 for pretty much nothing else -- are you trying to sell me a new system? So I paid the $109 Diagnostic Fee and sent him on his merry way. I purchased a fan motor and installed it - still not spinning. I than installed a Capacitor and that fixed the problem. So a $20.00 part fixed the problem - I now also have a new fan motor since I received it before the capacitor. This was my 3rd and last time using ARS (my other 2 incidents weren't any better). Sadly, it seems they are all the same since I've had similar situations with other companies.

Be warned! Terrible company. Scheduled a cleaning/tune up and the service tech calls and says he can only give an estimate. No work can be done?? The guy tells me at 8pm? After waiting since 1??? Is this a joke? Advertising tune ups and service techs with all equip necessary to do the job on the spot. Bait and switch. Aggressive salesman called and tried to sell me before he even got to the house. This company is a fraud and will only try to sell you unnecessary work. I just needed my ac and evap coil cleaned. Simple!

We have a 10-year-old AC unit that is running fine but we hadn't done routine maintenance on it for a long time so I called ARS and scheduled an """"AC Tune-up"""" for the next day. The technician was very friendly and he kept pointing things out that were a result of our failure to do routine maintenance on the unit - such as a dirty drain and dirty coils. He checked the outside unit and joked about a dead lizard in the unit. When all was said and done he provided us with a list of things that needed to be repaired/replaced for a total over $4000. Of course he then suggested that it would be more cost effective in the long run to replace the unit and scheduled us with a sales rep for the following morning. We paid $69 for the visit and he said he did clean the drain. The next morning I cancelled the sales rep and called another AC company for a second opinion. That technician came out and did routine maintenance on our unit and found one $90 part that needed to be replaced (capacitor). The total was $255 and that includes another routine maintenance visit in the spring. That technician also said that the ARS technician had not cleaned the drain. ARS tried to do a bait and switch on us but we weren't having it! Shame on them!

I signed up for a maintenance plan for $300 per year on a new AC unit installed last year. I have my credit card, but the same day, I called and cancelled it due to financial issues. This happened on 9/17/23. Ever since, I am struggling to get my refund and it never happened. Every time I call, they customer services tells me that they processed the refund but it never happened. It's been a month. I got the unit via Home Depot, I did not know they have contract with them. Their customer service is not truthful, they play you with smooth talk but never follow up. Be careful before you buy the unit.

a whole new HVAC system installed yesterday. Alfredo and Fred were here all day hooking the handler in the attic and a new carrier 4 ton condenser. High quality work at a fair price. Experienced and friendly. Give them a call. Mike provided the estimate and I did not feel pressured, Enjoyable experience from soup to nutz! Jim OHare
