We have a 10-year-old AC unit that is running fine but we hadn't done routine maintenance on it for a long time so I called ARS and scheduled an """"AC Tune-up"""" for the next day. The technician was very friendly and he kept pointing things out that were a result of our failure to do routine maintenance on the unit - such as a dirty drain and dirty coils. He checked the outside unit and joked about a dead lizard in the unit. When all was said and done he provided us with a list of things that needed to be repaired/replaced for a total over $4000. Of course he then suggested that it would be more cost effective in the long run to replace the unit and scheduled us with a sales rep for the following morning. We paid $69 for the visit and he said he did clean the drain. The next morning I cancelled the sales rep and called another AC company for a second opinion. That technician came out and did routine maintenance on our unit and found one $90 part that needed to be replaced (capacitor). The total was $255 and that includes another routine maintenance visit in the spring. That technician also said that the ARS technician had not cleaned the drain. ARS tried to do a bait and switch on us but we weren't having it! Shame on them!

I signed up for a maintenance plan for $300 per year on a new AC unit installed last year. I have my credit card, but the same day, I called and cancelled it due to financial issues. This happened on 9/17/23. Ever since, I am struggling to get my refund and it never happened. Every time I call, they customer services tells me that they processed the refund but it never happened. It's been a month. I got the unit via Home Depot, I did not know they have contract with them. Their customer service is not truthful, they play you with smooth talk but never follow up. Be careful before you buy the unit.

a whole new HVAC system installed yesterday. Alfredo and Fred were here all day hooking the handler in the attic and a new carrier 4 ton condenser. High quality work at a fair price. Experienced and friendly. Give them a call. Mike provided the estimate and I did not feel pressured, Enjoyable experience from soup to nutz! Jim OHare

Chaz and Josh are a different type of great. Not only are they good at their job, but they are a funny duo. They definitely know what they are doing. They made me feel comfortable with having strangers in my home by making me laugh and all that they know. After a few hours they didn't feel like your basic installers. They became my friend. They showed me exactly how to check over my equipment and Chaz even took the time to set up the app to control my thermostat. That wasn't part of his job but it's just who he is. Both Josh and Chaz work well together and get the job done. I would definitely recommend them. And their company was smart putting these two together. They work fast and efficient with a dash of humor. They certainly had a big job to do today and they did it with smiles and laughter in this heat. Which then made this process a lot less tedious. I will actually miss them that's how awesome they were. 5 stars all the way around!!!

Area is St. Petersburg, FL . Replaced new air-conditioning in April, 2023. 6/14 Inspection from City of St. Petersburg, fl. FAILED 6/23. ARS technician came to just checked. Nothing is done. 7/6. ARS technician came to just checked. Nothing is done. 8/2 finally ARS technician fixed it. He showed me pics where fixed and promised me to send pics to upload to be able to close case. However, he did not. Inspector needs to come over my house to inspect to close a case. I talked to ARS office and no upload pics. ARS sent 3 different technicians who don't know what they need to do. Everytime they are coming, I need to clock out my job and wait for them. I am losing my money. I am very frustrated due to disorganized and unprofessional. Inspector will come over on 8/6. Again, I need to clock out my job and wait inspector Poor customer care, lack of professionalism, very disorganized.

Wow those people they want $600 to clean coils that are not dirty in $2,000 to change a blower motor

Home Depot is making a BAD mistake promoting this company from their store. I took a promotion for a tuneup with ARC from Home Depot. Upon arrival the technician seemed to do a responsible check of the system going over everything finding zero problems. Two days the AC goes out. I called ARC up a little upset and they told me they would be sending someone out it took 5 days, miss two appointments. When he checked the sytem saying the blower motor was out ( yeah, right where he had taken the cover off). $1800 to repair. I said it might still be under warranty. He checked and said it was so it would be $1,175, but it might take a week to get the part. I called the company who had previously done Warrenty work on the unit a year before. They we're out within three ours. Said, """"The part is free under warranty and labor is $125."""" This company ARS/Rescue Rooters I believe tore my unit up with the prospect of coming back to fix it and then attem to rip me off. I refuse to pay them the $125 service call for coming back out.

Had an appointment they did not show up they did not call they put in a brand new system and was supposed to come back to finish off some minor odds and ends and they couldn't even do that then I was told to notch down. By the parts manager yeah this company is definitely not what you would believe you see on TV. They are awful the only reason that they installed my AC was because of home depot and home depot is starting to look into this problem they will. Definitely not tolerate this. So my review would not be good as I can't talk to a manager. I can only speak to Peggy and she said that they would come and remove the system out of my house and I'm just waiting to hear what. Because I need to get a new one put in the next day so don't deal with liars thanks thanks

My 3 year old hvac quit working last week. My Google thermostat notified me that there was an issue and recommended service. I book the service through Google and ARS was sent to perform a system check. The tech showed up on time and went about troubleshooting the issue. He reported that I should replace the capacitor (it was reading just below tolerance). He also stated that I was low on Freon and likely had a leak. To replace the capacitor (part is covered under warranty), he quoted me $450 for labor. He also quoted me the cost for Freon to refill the system would be $80 per pound and my system needed 8 lbs. He stated that I likely had a leak and I would need to add more on a frequent basis. I declined the additional service due to my suspicions about what he was telling me. I wanted a second opinion. This morning I had the service that installed my system and had them come out to take a look. They replaced the capacitor and only charged be the trip fee of $95. The capacitor was under warranty (parts only) and the tech said it was an easy repair so no additional charge for labor. I can never recommend ARS for any repair based on what I experienced.

A little bit of a rough start to our relationship when I signed up for the $300 per year subscription which includes a $25 per month fee a twice a year air conditioning tuneup for winter and summer and a discount on air conditioning repair if necessary. They canceled on me last minute but they were able to reschedule fairly quickly. The technician came out and examined my air conditioner. Not sure exactly what he did but told me everything was fine and proceeded to sell me to UV lightbulbs at a cost of $700. Hoping that this is worth it to keep my air conditioner, bacteria, free. The lightbulbs are supposed to last two years. I have heard others replacing lightbulbs from other sources that may be less expensive.
