Only giving one star because i cant give them zero. Purchased ac unit april 2016 has been repaired 9 times unit clearly defective but they refuse to give me a new one. They actually installed a 2015 unit but altered the date on the sticker by changing the 5 to a 6. This company is shady..dont use them.

A guy at Home Depot talked me into servicing my AC system. In two days time a guy from the company arrived right on time and started servicing my AC. From the very beginning everything seemed a bit off - he needed help to turn off one of the units, wasn't sure about a lot of things but insisted that I stay with him so that he could explain everything that he was doing which wasn't easy 'cause he spoke a kind of garbled English. After a while I left him to himself and he kept on doing something. Eventually he declared everything was tip top but for one small thing - a capacitor had to be replaced because the readings he got were a bit higher than 6% of the rating on the capacitor. I asked him about the price. Being trustful by nature I initially believed what the guy told me - they would give me a rebate on the capacitor """"normally you would pay 309 $ for it, but it's a special price of 249$ for Home Depot clients and 245$ for installation and nobody else would do it for this price"""" and he proceeded with his work. I decided to look it up on the internet and found out that the price of the capacitor was a little over 18$ bucks and you could either replace it yourself (15 min. at the longest) or call in smb to do it for a fair price. The greediest of handymen wouldn't charge more than a hundred for that kind of a job. When I confronted the guy with the information and suggested that it looked like some kind of a primitive scam to me he didn't have much to say but kept on mumbling smth about his company's policies and some kind of a """"special warranty"""" they were ready to give their clients. So I paid for the service (never received an invoice), bought the capacitor and replaced it myself. Frankly it took me longer to write this review. P.S. I don't think people at Home Depot are part of this, I am sure they are just as gullible as myself.

ARS is a scam company, purchased a heating pump from them about 5 years ago from them and they almost burned down our home with their shotty electric work putting it in. They promised us lower electric bills when in fact since they never finished the ducting and our home is always hot and we cant turn our unit below 72 or it freezes up our bills are higher. Now in just 5 years we have NOW ac or heat because the compressor has gone up. They want 5000 dollars for a new compressor that is covered in the maintenance agreement but doesnt cover the freon or labor. 5000 dollars for freon and labor in everyday culture you would call that flat out RAPE. Stay far away from this company. I would let my neighbors monkey do my AC and heating before ever letting ARS letting this company ever do work for me again. BUYER BEWARE

This company called me continuously for months to schedule my maintenance appointment, and on the date of the appointment, no one called or showed up. Its such an inconvenience for the customer. Please do your research when selecting them. This was not the first time it happened. They denied having me scheduled when I clearly had email notification confirming the appointment. Good luck

On December 30, 2020, we purchased a $12,000 air conditioning unit from ARS. I explained to the salesman that my sister is an MS patient and cannot get overheated. He claimed this unit was the very best and that there was a guarantee that if they could not fix any problem within 24 hours, ARS would provide a hotel room or portable units to keep my home comfortable. At the beginning of July, the air quit working. After a day, the technician discovered that the installers had not securely attached the duct. The duct had been leaking, possibly since December, and had finally blown off entirely. Thanks! We love to pay to air condition the great Florida outdoors! Then at the beginning of August, we began having issues with low voltage. Several techs came out and worked on it, replaced some parts, and stated that they might ought to put new wiring in place so they would talk to their service manager. No one ever followed up on that or offered to send a more knowledgeable tech out. Finally on Friday, August 6, the unit began making a banging noise and I called again. They told me no one could come out until the next day. A tech came out on Saturday afternoon after we had had no air for over 24 hours. He fiddled with the unit and finally said that it needed a board which would have to be ordered and would arrive in 2 to 3 days. I was not happy and began calling every number I could find including the salesman who sold us the unit. No one cared and no one tried to be helpful. They put me off and kept saying they would tell a supervisor. No supervisor ever got in touch. I purchased portable units for over $800 so I could at least cool two bedrooms and keep my sister cool. Here we are on Monday, August 9 with no air conditioning in the house. I have called everyone again and they are now saying it could be 2 or more days before they can fix the air. This unit is less than 8 months old and it was the """"best"""", most expensive unit they sell. The salesman guaranteed their service would be the """"best"""" and most responsive possible. I am sad, disappointed, mad, and feeling cheated by this company.

The scheduling is a complete nightmare. I will never do business with ARS again. Their technicians are great and do a very good job but the problem is getting them to show up. They're ridiculously over-booked and stood me up for 4 appointments. I can't take that kind of time off work every time I need HVAC or plumbing work done, so I have found a different company that is more reliable for those services. If you have nothing to do but wait around for them to show up, then this company might work out for you. If you work and have a life with things to do, I would go somewhere else because they have zero respect for your time.

Calling the national referral service for Rescue Rooter in turn led me to ARS/Rescue Rooter Tampa Bay. I called for service at 1:30PM for a clogged drain line that I wasn't able to clear myself, even after removing the trap. They put in my information and said someone would call me when they were on the way. Because it was a weekend they were unable to tell me the ETA of a plumber. Two hours later, I called to find out if they'd heard anything. They said I was the top of the list and should hear back soon. Two hours after that I called again asking what the deal was and if I was going to have anyone come by at that point. The lady told me it could take 4-6 hours before anyone called me and to continue to wait. My husband comes home 6 hours after the call was put in and calls the company to see what is going on. They have one of their plumbers call him back and the plumber says it was the first time he'd heard of a service request today from our home. The company didn't even bother asking anyone to come until someone got upset with them on the phone six hours later. Don't bother waiting around for a service that will never happen. Call someone else. I'm now having to wait another three hours for someone to come out.
