We had work done by ARS in April and paid them $16,000 to replace our duct work / A/C unit. Come 6 months later we attempt to refinance our home and find there is an open Notice of Commencement reporting on our homes title search. This is the CONTRACTORS responsibility to file a release with the county. They have refused to do so and almost cost us thousands of dollars in losing my loan. Typically a notice of this nature drops off after a year, so most unreliable contractors just hope the homeowner won't find themselves in need of a clear title within that time frame to avoid paying the recording fees. After getting no where with calling and emailing for over a week (everyday being told we would have it by the end of the day), we took it upon ourselves with a title company we've worked with that was willing to help get this rectified by physically going to their office and making them sign. After that we had to go to the Pinellas Clerk of the Court and file this. My husband and I PAID for the notary and filing fees to avoid missing out on this refinance opportunity. It's a disgrace they can get away with treating homeowners with such neglect, We're grateful to have the knowledge of title work to know how to fix this, but anyone not in the industry would have lost out. Home Depot is crazy for endorsing this company. They did nothing but point the blame on everyone else and never followed through, I would give them a negative 10 stars if I could!!

Billy and Josh did an amazing job!! My husband & I were impressed and grateful, Billy and Josh treated this job and repairs as if they were doing this at their own home!! I would like to thank them again for their hard-work, long hours and a great job installing the new AC Unit.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life and I have been a home owner for over 30 years. I had a new AC install in August which to date (11/3/2017) is yet to be complete! I have had to call each time to request a service tech to come and complete, (4 appointments) and each time the service guy NEVER comes with the supplies necessary to complete even though the previous service guy WROTE notes about why he couldn't complete the job. Go figure, takes a lot of brains for this company to maybe read the previous note and come prepared maybe??!! In my job I would be fired after the first call! Anyway as promised by each service guy """"I will be contacted"""" to schedule another call to complete the job.... and here I sit waiting now a week with no call. Yes, I know at this point I should pick up the phone and call myself, but now I am just interested in seeing if they EVER call anyone back....or is all the responsibility on the customer?? I have asked to speak to a management and the famous line... we will pass a message along and have someone call you. Which now when I hear the word """"call you"""" I laugh... not happening. So with multiple days I took off work to sit for these incomplete service calls, and also knowing I will have to take another day off work for the """"inspection"""" I would HIGHLY recommend you not using this company. I am so very sorry I ever purchased this unit :(

I had a 1/2"""" copper pipe elbow with a small leak and called ARS. After waiting almost 5 hours for them to arrive, instead of repairing with copper, they replaced the copper pipe with PVC using sharkbite connectors, and replaced the copper valve with a PVC valve. I had already dug the hole and cleared the area, so it took the plumber just less than 30 minutes to complete the work. The bill was an astounding $405. The parts they used would be less than $25 at Home Depot, so ARS basically charged me $370 in labor for 30 minutes of work. That is a billing rate of over $700 per hour. I will definitely not use this company again, and would not recommend you do either.

Omg what a rip off the tech told me I need new capacitor and contactor it could replace both for 650.00 dollars I looked online both parts were 50.00 dollars and easy to install but I called a different company and they did it for 150.00 dollars and he said to put a uv light 650.00 just for light I found them online for 50 dollars and new ac unit 2ton 4000 dollars I have a 3 1/2 at my home new paid 4000. this company just wants money DO NOT USE THEM!! Mush better companies out there do you research. And he did not do all the things on the list on the tune up.

After hours A.C. repair. While I was away, my wife, 73 yrs. old, home alone and ill, realized A.C. compressor was not running and the house was getting hot around 6:00 PM. We have 2 big dogs and therefore she could not go to hotel. Our regular A.C. repair Co. could not come until the following afternoon so she called ARS. The tech arrived at 9:00PM and was there 50 minutes. He installed a compressor starting capacitor and jump start kit. He gave her a price for the capacitor of $239.00 and the jump kit for $349.00. She had no idea what these parts can be bought for and just knew they were very expensive. Under duress of being stuck, ill in an 85 degree house, she consented to the job. The bill was $757.45. When she reached me the next day I went crazy. I know what the retail prices of those parts are but looked them up to verify. The capacitor is $36.60 and the jump kit is $66.00. If the tech had quoted me the prices that he charged and I was there I would have asked him to leave and sent my wife to a hotel. She did not have that option. The bottom line is for $102.60(retail, ARS probably paid 40% less) in parts and 50 minutes of labor my wife was charged $757.45. This is an exorbitant charge applied to an unwitting, ill, senior person who was under duress. How many people do they do this to that do not even realize it. Shameful A fair deal would have been the normal hourly rate times 2 (double time)since it was after hours and at MOST 25% over retail on the parts. My regular A.C. company charges an hourly rate(premium for after hours) plus retail on the parts. This would have been a total $300.00 after hour repair with them. They would have still made a good profit.

A guy at Home Depot talked me into servicing my AC system. In two days time a guy from the company arrived right on time and started servicing my AC. From the very beginning everything seemed a bit off - he needed help to turn off one of the units, wasn't sure about a lot of things but insisted that I stay with him so that he could explain everything that he was doing which wasn't easy 'cause he spoke a kind of garbled English. After a while I left him to himself and he kept on doing something. Eventually he declared everything was tip top but for one small thing - a capacitor had to be replaced because the readings he got were a bit higher than 6% of the rating on the capacitor. I asked him about the price. Being trustful by nature I initially believed what the guy told me - they would give me a rebate on the capacitor """"normally you would pay 309 $ for it, but it's a special price of 249$ for Home Depot clients and 245$ for installation and nobody else would do it for this price"""" and he proceeded with his work. I decided to look it up on the internet and found out that the price of the capacitor was a little over 18$ bucks and you could either replace it yourself (15 min. at the longest) or call in smb to do it for a fair price. The greediest of handymen wouldn't charge more than a hundred for that kind of a job. When I confronted the guy with the information and suggested that it looked like some kind of a primitive scam to me he didn't have much to say but kept on mumbling smth about his company's policies and some kind of a """"special warranty"""" they were ready to give their clients. So I paid for the service (never received an invoice), bought the capacitor and replaced it myself. Frankly it took me longer to write this review. P.S. I don't think people at Home Depot are part of this, I am sure they are just as gullible as myself.

As a rule of thumb I tend to never trust anything I see on TV. Little did I know when I called Home Depot that ARS would be the ones they called. I requested an estimate to repair or replace my faulty AC unit. At 9pm a woman in a tiny car with no tools showed up. She was only a sales rep. So, I humored her and let her start a quote for me. All she asked was the square footage of my house (under 1000). Damien, with whom she was on the phone, said I need a 3.5ton AC unit! Since we own another home of over 2300 square foot with a perfectly fine 3.5ton ac unit - I called BS and simply sent her on the way. This was an attempted robbery, and they should know an oversized AC unit is as bad or worse than undersized. I would not use these people if they were free! And my confidence in Home Depot is greatly diminished!

Only giving one star because i cant give them zero. Purchased ac unit april 2016 has been repaired 9 times unit clearly defective but they refuse to give me a new one. They actually installed a 2015 unit but altered the date on the sticker by changing the 5 to a 6. This company is shady..dont use them.

Do NOT waste your time with ARS for any A/C needs. Not too mention the completely overpriced replacement unit I got sold on just a year and a half back and the fact that when installed, it wouldn't actually blow cold air and required them to come back out the next day for a few hours....and, that they installed the attic handler incorrectly which required a whole new attic entry and stairway to be installed.... their ongoing customer service through that process and every subsequent tune-up appointment has been horrendous. The final straw for me was this past week where they said they would be here from 8 to 12 on Monday but will call with 30 minutes notice. Monday at 9am they call and say the tech is on the way. I verify that it would be 30 minutes since I am coming from work and after a slight hesitancy, the dispatcher said yes. I drive all the way home and wait an hour and a half....no show. I call and they say, """"oh, something is wrong with the tech's van and we had to call a tow truck."""" Now, you would think that would warrant a call to your customer to inform of a delay....NOPE. They said they would reroute another tech and it would be about another hour maybe 2. Multiple back and forth's later finally resulted in them leaving me a voicemail at 4:30 saying that they couldn't come today bc they had too many emergency calls but to call them back, at a specified number, and they would put me back on the schedule at my convenience. I called back, left a voicemail for Nick stating I would like to schedule for Friday and to call me back for best time. Never received a call back! In my experience, I have found that doing business with any company/contractor who gets most of their referrals from a big box chain has horrendous customer service, poor quality and extremely over-inflated prices. Steer clear of services from the big box chains!
