In early December 2014, Rescue Rooter (aka ARS Plumbing) with the concurrence of AHS Home Warranty required 2 weeks to eventually replace my kitchen faucet. Neither this company (nor AHS Warranty) would take actions to expedite the repair of the faucet; consequently my family had limited use of the kitchen during this time. My requests to expedite completion of this job were ignored. The initial assessment was to repair the faucet which required ordering a part, but no effort was made to have the part shipped quickly. After the faucet broke again while installing the part, the plumber went to the local chain hardware store, purchased a low end faucet and installed it in less than an hour. I did not renew my home warranty and I would not request services from this company again as their office personnel showed no interest in the timely completion of this small, simple job. The company's actions reflected that the home warranty company was their customer - not me. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A customer service manager from ARS Plumbing called me soon after I placed my review on Yelp. She apologized for the length of time that it took to replace my kitchen faucet. Additionally ARS plumbing refunded the service fee that I was required to pay under my former home warranty.

NEVER EVER USE THIS PLUMBING COMPANY!!!!!! This started with a leaky bathtub faucet. My landlord, the homeowner, called this company to take care of it. This was back in the first week of December. After calling to tell me they were about to turn onto my street I rushed out of my office to meet them. I live a mile away, so I wasn't worried. Got to my place and no plumber. I waited 2 hours! The man shows up and spends 3 minutes in my bathroom to say """"I don't have the parts in my truck so we'll have to call the homeowner and reschedule for this week. See you sometime this week."""" After a week of radio silence I finally contact my landlord and ask when they were going to schedule them to come out again. My landlord tells me, they said they would call and schedule with me. Another week goes by and its 2 days before I'm about to go out of town for the holidays. I get a call at 6:45pm from a bumbling kid saying he's calling from Rescue Rooter and the first question out of his mouth is, """"did you still need us to take care of your problem?"""" This should have been the immediate red flag to abort. After some back and forth with the man on the phone I schedule the appointment for the Tuesday after the new year, from four to six in the evening. That's what the kid on the phone told me. Appointment day rolls around and since I live so close I decided not to take the day off and just waited for the call. At 4:45pm I get a call. I start packing up as I answer the call. Only it's not the plumber but the same kid from before. He goes on to tell me that they made a mistake and the plumber who was supposed to come does not work on Tuesdays. Let's clarify here, this company waited until THE DAY OF my appointment within the appointment window time to alert me that my plumber does not work on the day THEY scheduled the appointment! As I'm rescheduling, yet again, I select the following day during the same 4:00-6:00 time frame. In response I get a hesitant """"uh well we will try."""" Confused I ask, should I choose a different day. And he says """"no we just prefer a four hour window."""" I say, """"but you all gave me a two hour window the last time!"""" And he responds """"as I said we are really sorry about the mistake but your plumber doesn't work on Tuesdays."""" Yes, this set me off too! I told them 2-6 would be fine and ended the call. The next appointment day rolls around and at 4:45 I receive a call from that same kid saying your plumber is about to turn into your apartment. I rush home expecting to find him waiting at the gate and no plumber. So I go in, park my car and walk back out to the gate to let him in. Still no plumber. It's about 20 degrees that day. Flustered, I call the number back and say """"he must be at the wrong gate"""" to which the kid says """"oh no was just turning off the main exit to your apartment."""" I stand and wait another 15 minutes and finally the truck pulls in. It is now 5:40. Same plumber from before. I open the gate and he just drives on through to my apartment and waits till I walk all the way back before getting out. This time he spends about 7 minutes in my bathroom before telling me we would have to reschedule until the water could be shut off to the building and leaves! I immediately get in contact with the landlord who says """"I told them from the beginning they would have to do that. They said they wouldn't need to."""" Both of us furious we decide to make the final arrangements with the management company for the water to be shut off and the four hour window appointment time. Because of shutting the water off to the building it had to be from 10-2 for the least inconvenience to other tenants, and I had to take a day off from work. Here I am writing this review at 2:55 and only just receiving a call from the plumber that they are here. The plumber has now been in my house 30 minutes and still the work is not done. So what should I say when my neighbors come knocking because they have no water and were informed the water would be turned back on no later than 3? So I repeat DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBING COMPANY, EVER!!!!

Was given a 5 hour service window, from 8am-1pm. Got the call from RRA at 10:27, missed it and called them back 2 min later at 10:29, but was told """"too bad, we couldn't make live contact so we reassigned your plummer and no guarantee if and when you will get service."""" Then she refused to let me speak to a manager. Extremely rude and frustrating experience so far....

J.J. was right on time, explained all the neccessary repairs and warranty coverage. He was great help in store obtaining new product since the clerk had no idea how to process return of the discontinued product that was still 100% under warranty. Professional and polite. A+

Brad was very knowledgeable of his craft, expedited the work quickly and efficiently. He offered up solid recommendations with facts to back up his ideas so you know the suggestions were legitimate. Found this group through American Home shield and would you them for services that fell out of AHS home warranty coverage.

THESE GUYS ARE BAD NEWS, STAY AWAY. On Christmas morning we find water in our guest bathroom. Our 20 year old toilet has a stress fracture at the bottom of the bowl. We call American Home shield and they assign us to Rescue Rooter. AHS calls them and RR committed to next day service. I call them the next day and they tell me they can service me 3 days from now. I had to call AHS to call RR for them to keep their promise (very dishonest). After reading reviews(horrible reviews) I tried to get AHS to switch providers but they wouldn't. Finally the plumber for RR shows up. This guy had to be 300 pounds, smelling of body order and jeans hanging half down his backside. Goes into the bathroom, never touches the toilet (it would have been physically impossible for him to see the issue based on his size). Takes a picture of a small part of the crack between the bowl and toilet (view from above) and emails it to his HQ. He never bent down to look to see the stress fracture at the bottom of the bowl. American Home Shield calls me a few minutes later saying the plumber said it was probably hit by a baseball bat and will not be covered. Then the guy says he can get me a $300 toilet and install it for $225 (I would pay him directly). TOTAL RIP OFF ARTISTS. These guys get in your house through warranty companies and then try to upsell you. I asked AHS to send out another plumber for a second opinion. That company comes out, actually looks at the problem and diagnoses it as a stress fracture. The toilet on the second floor is right above the washing machine on the first and the pipe vibration over 20 years stressed the toilet. AHS then covers the job completely. The people at Rescue Rooter are rude dishonest and lazy. If they are assigned to you from a warranty company, cancel the work order and call back and start a new one. Best Regards, Dan

We had a few problems, and called American Home Shield, our warranty company, and they sent out another plumbing company. The other company said that the way the house was plumbed 50 years ago was backwards, and that his tool could not clear the drain. He said that we needed to have his company cut out all the old drain and re-plumb. American Home Shield called out Rescue Rooter for a second opinion. I sure am glad they did! Joe showed up right on time, and was very courteous. He said he would be able to clear it with out re-plumbing the bathroom. He got it done in less than 30 minutes, the same day that he was called! No extra charges, no extra work, no up-selling.

Micah was totally professional in his approach to fixing my kitchen faucet's slow running water problem. He was determined to having it work properly, even though it took a couple visits to get the correct parts, which the manufacturer had not included. Thank you Micah, happy customer. He arrived on time, was courteous and knowledgeable.

SCAM ALERT... This company (also known as ARS Plumbing) came out to my home 7/30/14 to look at the shower/toilet in the basement not flushing and the shower flooding. The tech they sent went to the basement armed with a snake, assorted screwdrivers, and a few other basic tools to see what I had to show him. It was the sump pump that was not working correctly. It had been installed 11yrs ago, and had not been touched since the day the contractors put it in in 2003. You can tell because a little of the wet concrete at the time of construction in the basement dripped onto the screws of the sump pump. That concrete would have had to be removed FIRST to unscrew the screws to LOOK inside. Today, 7/31/14 that same concrete from 11 yrs ago IS STILL THERE AFTER HIS VISIT. This tech made a sight unseen diagnosis saying there was an object in there, when he NEVER even OPENED it up. After we came back upstairs he quickly goes outside to call the insurance company (American Home Shield) to say that there was a foreign object in there...that he never saw by the way because it was never OPENED...knowing that they would not pay. He comes back inside and already had an estimate drawn up for labor/materials of how much HE can put in a NEW sump pump (Lowe's sells them for $300 or less). His quote was almost $1300! What a rip off, scam artist, shady, under handed, low down business! I've already called the insurance company to complain, and spoke with a woman at Rescue Rooter (also known as ARS) who told me (from the tech) something totally different than what the technician stood in my kitchen and told me. I'm not sure if they are telling me multiple stories because I'm an older woman (61yrs old) and I don't know much about this issue and they think they can take advantage of people or what. I just want to warn people. I've already notified American Home Shield NOT to send that company out here EVER again. I don't trust them. BEWARE.
