Last week I had requested a quote to replace all of the plumbing in my home from quest plumbing to pex plumbing and I was very clear that I did not want copper before they came out to bid.

When the new owner, which is the old owners son arrived, he said he only does copper. He told me it would take him four days to give me a quote for what I was wanting. He then told me that pex only has a 1-2 year warranty (it's actually almost a thirty year warranty) and that it would take him 2-3 weeks to do the job. I'm assuming he told me all of this so I wouldn't choose him because the second he care in my home he was on the train of selling me on copper. But it's more realistic to say he was telling me all of this so I would bite and pay $10,000 for the copper option.

Thanks but no thanks. Learn to understand your customer better and hear what they tell you.

Quote to fully line (resin injected and balloons to shape interior) 60 feet of existing broken main sewer line to street from this company: $20,000! I hired a backhoe pro with 30 years commercial experience who dug up the entire length of the mishmash of clay and cardboard 1940's-era stuff for $600. My nephew glued sections of 4"" black ABS and required elbows and flexible couplers for another mere $200. Brand new ABS all the way from the commodes to the uncrapping, crappy 1940's era city clay pipe. Less than a thousand, and 20 grey hairs.
