I scheduled with Armstrong to replace a basin. The bathroom was recently remodeled, but the ceramic basin was broken when a heavy object fell on it.
1. I was told someone would call between 8:00 and noon.
2. I called them at 12:30, to see if they were still coming.
3. At 1:15, I received a call they were 15 minutes away.
4. At 1:45 they arrived at 1:45 and gave a quote of $615 to replace the basin, which sits on top of the counter.
5. There was no plumbing needed, and the existing faucet would be used.
I did my research and knew the price for replacing a sink, which includes removal and haul away of the old sink, new sink installation and reconnection of new supply lines provided by the installer, was on average between $250 and $350. This was a simple job. The basin was new, but needed to be replaced because a heavy object fell on it. It was replacing the existing basin with a new basin, which sits on top of the counter. No plumbing was needed.
This job was done by my husband 90 minutes. We only called a plumber because we wanted it professionally installed. Armstrong Plumbing gave me a quote of $615, which175% to 240% more than average.
I will not be an Armstrong Plumbing customer. Next time I will check reviews before I call anyone. My husband as a good job as a professional.
I've used these guys for 20+ years in both my residences and commercial building. they are prompt, courteous and professional. reasonably priced.
I found the company through Angie's List. They called 3 times trying to get me, and spoke to scheduling agent. I explained I needed a leaky faucet fixed outside, she said she would waive the service fee for me because we are so close. I scheduled for someone to come out the next day, no specific time but a 30 minute call before. They next day I waited and waited only to get a call at 2:30 asking me to reschedule for the next week. They also said I would need to pay the fee to guarantee that someone shows up. It seemed like a bait and switch and I cancelled...not the kind of company I would recommend.
Update: Despite the promise, I never received a call.
Myles M.I found out about this outfit from Angie 's list
They wanted $400 dollars to replace a 6 "" 3/4 copper water line. It was on the outside of house with no issue to reach. Took my $79 dollars for coming out and trying to overcharge me.
I am going back to my plumber - although he busy - now I know why. This outfit had someone ready to take my money 2 hours after I called.
Thank you for reply Bill. I know what the $75 dollars was for - the issue is your ridiculous quote for repair. Your reply to me shows how out of touch your are. My plumber fixed for half!!
Callie P.Armstrong has been a big help with a couple of reno projects. They installed a faucet in the newly tiled shower without leaving a mess or damaging the travertine. They also came out the same day we called to install a laundry sink.
They are our go-to guys for plumbing now.
Brenda C.We live in an old house, the guy did the usual didn't look at it much and said I needed new.
