A month ago my Samsung fridge stopped working after just 6 years. When many reputable repair shops declined to work on Samsung's (more on this later), I settled on District of Columbia Uline Rpr with 19 5-star reviews (more on this later too). Well, it turns out it's not a real place but a call service. They sent me a subcontractor, Darius Arod, after I paid $60. I didn't know this at the time. After Darius looked around, he told my friend (while I was at work) that the inverter board (the computer control) needed replaced. I agreed and got charged another $425 ($250 parts and $235 labor minus the $60 credit) via Venmo (how I found out his name). He assured me that it took care of the issue, but when I got home about 5 hours later, it was still not cold at all. Called him but no answer. Then he texted me to say that he was at dinner, and to contact him the next morning if still not working. When I talked him the next day, he had changed his story to say that it was the compressor and it would cost thousands to repair. I asked him why he felt the need to replace the inverter, if he still had my old one, and told him that he could bring that back and take the new one with him because either way it didn't work. I also told him a quick research showed a Samsung inverter was about $100 market price. To his credit, he refunded me $250 for parts via Venmo but never came back to take his inverter (which made me think that maybe he never replaced anything). So now I was $235 out but still with a broken fridge. A subsequent call resulted in both sides talking over each other and him threatening to sue me then hanging up. So the moral of the story - avoid Darius Arod and his company, Arlington Appliance Services, at all costs.

When I finally asked one repair shop why no Samsung, I was told that their fridge looks nice and sleek but the design is flawed and often cannot be repaired. Researching the model number online made me realize other people had the exact same issue 5 or 6 years in. One repairperson recommended GE or Whirlpool, and all of this was reaffirmed by sales people at Home Depot and Lowe's. For a fridge that costs $3,000 to last only 6 years, the math just doesn't work out. Never again will I buy another Samsung appliance (I've also had issues with my Samsung TV and microwave). Anyway, I've moved on and bought a new fridge, a GE Profile, at Lowe's about 3 weeks ago and got $1000 off the regular price during their 4th of July sale.

As for District of Columbia Uline Rpr, if you type in fridge repair in Google Maps and center your search around downtown, you'll also notice another one called District of Columbia Kenmore Repair, and another called District of Columbia Roper Rpr, etc. Yes, there is a pattern here with how they stylized their names... It's all the same and none of them is a real company.

So please don't do what I did here and I hope you won't ever run into a fridge issue in the middle of summer!

By any means, do not use Darius and Arlington Appliance Services. He will not stand behind, and or fix an appliance properly. When he wanted payment, the check had to be made out to him personally, and not Arlington Appliance Services as stated on his invoice. Said ""the company doesn't exist.

Avoid this sham business at ALL cost! Was contracted to fix my washer, stated that the part would take a week (when a week passed he claimed the part was in DC and could not provide me with a tracking number). Failed to answer my calls. AVOID this business!

Unreliable, unprofessional and reported to the BBB for VA.

Avoid his other sham repair business:

I wouldn't recommend this company. For starters, this guys is very expensive. We had three appliances that each needed minor repairs. Despite being able to fix them all in one visit, his quote was priced as if each one had its own (expensive) service call. So, a 1-2 hour service visit would be $750 in labor. Outrageous. When we tried to discuss it with him, he stopped responding. I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

What a joke.

I had a problem with my SubZero freezer not making ice correctly. I did a quick search, found Arlington Sub Zero Repair and called them. Turns out they're probably just a front for a dozen different brand repair shops. They flipped me to Darius who came out, spent 15 seconds listening to the problem my wife described, and then said it'd be $375 to fix. I was out of town and my wife and I decided to go for it. The ""fix"" took less than 15 minutes and he replaced a part that sells online for less than $30 - I wish I could charge that kind of premium for my time! Note that whatever company you get Darius through, he's going to want a check made out directly to him - somewhat shady.

If that was the end of it, this would be a 3-4 star review of ""expensive, but it works..."" But you might notice this is a 1 star review.

A few weeks after the ""fix"" the ice maker stopped working. I contacted Darius, he asked for photos of the ice which was weird but whatever. He said he needed to order a new part and he'd have it early December. We set up an appointment. I was again out of town, but my wife was here to meet him. He never showed up. He called me 46 minutes later and I wasn't able to answer. My wife called him a few minutes after though and he claimed he tried to call us and we never answered so he didn't come - total BS because he called well after the appointment was supposed to start, and at no point did we discuss ""I'll call you before the appointment, if you don't answer, I'm not coming"". And worse, even though my wife called a few minutes after he called me, he claimed he was already in a different town and couldn't come.

After that, he went radio silent - he refuses to acknowledge my attempts to contact him.

So here's my advice - if you call an appliance company and they say they're going to send someone to you, and it turns out to be Darius - cut your losses, tell him ""thanks but no thanks"" and find someone that isn't a swindler out to rake you over the coals charging high-end-lawyer type hourly rates and billing excessive prices for cheap parts that won't actually fix your problem. It's just not worth the headache.

Do not use this company absolutely the worst I've ever dealt with. There five mins and recommended replacing the most expensive part on the dishwasher, that they just happen to have with them, $765. The cost was also misleading on the cost and didn't remove the cost of the service call. Then the repair didn't fix it and they refused to fix it without another outrageous expensive part. So, buy a new dishwasher. Believe, don't use this guys.

I have used this company 3 times. I've had excellent experience with them.
Service techs are highly knowledgeable and punctual. Their prices are fair and they make sure you make an informed decision, advantages to you if you authorize the repair

I will not recommend this company to any one. I paid this company$403 dollars to repair my range. It has been almost two months since I made the payment to the company and my range never repaired. I have been contacting the technician of the company multiple times to resolve the issue. Finally today the technician of the company asked me to make additional payment in the amount of $285 if I want the issue to be to resolved. My range was showing error code F11 before the tech came to do diagnosis and today is showing the same error code F11. The company never repaired my range this is just a scum! This company does not even deserve one star! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!
