Beware of this slick outfit. Signed up for their monthly plan and supposed to get a discount on repairs (and these guys are always selling you that there are things to repair) but their price was still 50% higher than another contractor. Don't be fooled by their pink shirts, they are bandits in disguise.
Price gouging at its' finest! We had replaced our kitchen counters and sink. At the same time we wanted to install a new garbage disposal and faucet. We purchased the garbage disposal, faucet and sink drain prior to the replacement work. We'd used Arlinghaus in the past for heating and air conditioning work with no problems. The Arlinghaus plumber showed up as promised. He reviewed the work to be done and then gave us an estimate of over $900 to do the faucet and garbage disposal installation. I was shocked at the price, but went ahead with the work because of the inconvenience of not having the kitchen work done if we had to go to another company. By the time the work was done the bill was over $1,100! We will never use them again.
I am only giving this company a 1-star rating because that is as low as I could go. I wouldn't recommend Arlinghaus Plumbing Heating and Air to anyone. My son worked for this company for roughly a year and was let go on a Friday, after calling in late that previous Monday, due to car trouble. We have reason to believe that the real reason he was fired is because he had mentioned leaving the company and going elsewhere for more money. This doesn't seem to be a company that values the fact that you try and do the right thing and give them notice. Anyway, whatever the reason, fast forward 3 weeks later and he is still trying to get the last check owed to him. After realizing his last check didn't get direct deposited, he called them and asked why, and they told him he would need to return his uniforms before they would pay him. He then told them he would drop off the uniforms and they told him no, he couldn't just drop them off, he would have to make an appointment. So, he gets the appointment set up, drops off the clothes that mind you consisted of some stained up t shirts and pants that are going to go straight to the dumpster. He then asks if he can now have his check and they tell him someone will have to get back with him after they check his uniforms. After a couple days go by, he gets in contact with them once again to see if he can get his check and they tell him he was missing some of his uniforms, so they will not be issuing him a check. He messaged someone to see if they could just deduct some of his pay to cover the cost of these uniforms (that are going to go straight to the garbage), and he has yet to receive a response. If these are the kind of shady unprofessional games, they are going to play on a young man just trying to get what he is rightfully owed and worked for, I can only imagine the stuff they pull on customers to earn an extra buck. We do not plan to let them get away with this, our next step is to report them to the labor board and possibly get a lawyer, if we need to go that far. I just feel people should know what kind of company they really are. At this point it is more than just the money that is owed, it is the principal. If you need any heating, plumbing or ac work, do yourself a favor and find a more reputable company with better morals and values.
The initial persons who came out to inspect our HVAC system was great and when we decided to replace the entire system, the salesman was professional. However, those are only compliments I can provide.
They pushed to install our system the same date as purchased since the company was slow. We agreed given the condition they would need to be out by 5pm. Well they were at our home till 930pm. Left screws and scrap metal on the ground- we have a toddler at home..
When they installed the new outside unit, they exposed our vinyl siding with a large gap in which water could infiltrate. Took three phone calls to get a response and have them come out to fix it. Was given attitude that it wasn't a big deal by the guy who came.
Tried to turn on heat since it was a cooler night but it didn't work. They had to come back out again to fix it.
We're stuck with them in order to keep our warranty. Can't wait to see what else breaks down.
They called us to schedule our check up appointment for our HVAC. We had our entire system (Furnace, AC, Tankless Water Heater) installed a year ago and bought the service plan (over $25,000). Originally we were very happy with their service and their work. However today has been extremely frustrating! Again, THEY called us to schedule this. THEY chose the day. They called us around 10 am to confirm, which I did. We got a text message at 11:17 a.m. saying they were on their way. Its been FIVE hours and no one has shown up! I've tried calling THREE times, and get a different person EVERY time, ALL from an answering service telling me all they can do is send a message and they have no other numbers I can call. I have had ZERO call backs! This is ridiculous!!! I am EXTREMELY UNHAPPY at this point as we still have no idea when or even if they will show up. You need a better system and a huge improvement with your communication!!!
UPDATE....they finally called....to tell us they had to reschedule!!! Bunch of crap...oh, they offered us a $50 credit to any future repair....no, how about you take $50 off the bill we are already paying? No, sorry, we can't do that! Well if your product is as good as you claim we won't need that $50 credit for years and years...yeah, that's helpful. You are awful!!! Don't waste your time, once they have your money they don't give a damn! If we ever need another new system it WON'T be from you!!!
Linda L.The salesman came out and pitched how qualified he was to install a new heating and air conditioning system. Prided himself on being a journeyman, his certifications, etc. Imagine our surprise when he's not the person who showed up to install our new $10,000 system.
Less than 6 months later I noticed wetness on the floor in front of our new system. My husband called on Saturday morning and was told no one could come out until Sunday. Sunday came and no one came, no one called. Monday morning the office manager called to say someone dropped the ball and forgot to let the technician know to come out. Supposedly someone would come around 4pm Monday afternoon. It's now almost 7pm and we're still waiting for someone to show up.
I'd suggest going elsewhere if you want any kind of decent customer service. Don't use Arlinghaus.
I should have read the reviews from here first before have them come for estimation which costed me $89 and what the technician told me is to replace a toilet. My toilet is only 5 years old. I asked him if he can fix, he told me its not worth to fix. I found out that the toilet is actually needed a new valve in a water tank. There's nothing wrong with the toilet. The quote is ridiculous expensive. $1000 for replacing a new toilet with a toilet they provide. $500 for Labour if I buy toilet myself and $300 something to just replace the valves and flap On the toilet tank. I am so glad that I didn't go with them. Went to Home Depot and got have their plumber came to fix and caused reasonable price.
Can't say much about service but the quote they gave me for a new a/c was over 9k for a 3200 sq ft home. Had some other quotes come in around 5-6k. Also had a quote for a pipe replacement, almost double what it wound up costing me after they tried to sign me up for their treehouse club which costs a monthly fee.
Originally here to fix a shower leak. Was told the cartridge to fix it would cost $500 alone. Plumber put the temperature control valve back together wrong so I didn't have hot water in the shower. Plumber came back out to fix it days later, but put the handle on wrong. I told him but he said it's the only way it goes on, even though the first time he put the handle on correctly. I called a local plumbing supply company and was told the cartridge was $20. Not sure how he got $500. He also didn't reseat the faucet handle correctly. The set screw wasn't all the way in and handle wasn't pushed down all the way. Horrible all around experience. Ended up using another plumbing company who fixed everything in 20 minutes. I responded to a text from Arlinghaus asking me if I was satisfied with the service I received with what I wrote above and no response.
Shannon M.Our HVAC went out for the second time in two years and so we finally bit the bullet and decided to replace the entire unit. Arlinghaus was nothing but responsive, professional, and friendly. They updated us every step of the way and even when encountering a few unforeseen hurdles, they were able to take care of the situations in a timely manner. If you're going to make this sort of investment in your home, I recommend making it with Arlinghaus!
