Company Overview

Within a week, my 20-year-old water heater started to drip. On top of that, the compressor in my eight-year-old AC unit died. I just settled into my home a bit over a year ago, looking forward to a dual cooling setup, but it didn’t happen. When we got into the house, we didn’t need the AC or the evaporative cooler on, and we just verified they worked. As it happened, despite the AC functioning, the vent designed to close at the evaporative connection was stuck open. Consequently, the AC unit couldn’t cool three-quarters of my home. That first summer was rough, and the utility bill was staggering.

I think I got stuck with a bad tech guy. He had to make 5 trips back to his van to get basic tools(one trip back was for a phillips screwdriver). To fix a problem in the shower handle, he first thought it was the cartridge, so he made a trip out to First/Grant for that part. When he got back, he looked at it further and decided the problem lay in the pressure feed valve so he said he would have to make another trip to First/Grant for that part(If he'd been a little more patient with his work, he could have realized the problem lay in the valve and not the cartridge--thus saving him a trip and getting the correct part the first time). The entire time, he seemed rushed with getting the job done. Not having the proper tools with him added to the drama of the whole event. He spoke quickly and in not very good English--so this leads me to believe he had little education. Well the price to fix kept going up from $150 to $200 to $250. These prices seemed to come off the top of his head. When it got to $250, I asked to see the receipt for the pressure relief valve so I could know how much he was marking up materials cost. He got snippy and said he wouldn't do that. So at this point I knew he was gouging me and I wasn't going to let it happen. So I told him to put the shower handle back together. We did not part on good terms. Problem never got fixed due to contractor price gouging. Total lack of professionalism from a company that's been in business for a long time in Tucson. They also advertise on TV. To their credit, they did not charge me a service fee which I was expecting. I will not use again, though.

My husband and I had been looking for a plumber since our last service call from Silverado Rooter and Plumbing didn't even make it out at the time they promised and called an hour late. Anywho, so we set up an appointment with Arico Plumbing and man, I can say they were awesome.

The man was very knowledgeable about his trade and took pride in his work which is definitely refreshing. They were very fair in their price and I was glad to spend the money to have the work done. They also have a 30 day warranty which makes me relieved to know I'm not out $125 if they didn't do correctly the first time.

I absolutely recommend this company and their technician is fantastic!

I recently had my AC repaired by technician Derek. Derek was very efficient, he fully explained the problem in terms I could understand, and reviewed the follow-up option if problems persisted. Overall, I feel that the service provided was excellent. I would call them again in the future.

Arico Plumbing Srews Up

'Plumber', an employee of Arico, installs Delta faucet washer-spring assembly upside down and minus the spring! It didn't leak for several on-off cycles, until the rubber wore down. Then it required the water to be turned off until it could be fixed properly days later. Not covered by warranty.

I'm not happy with the outcome and here's why:

May 25 - while in town for just three hours my wife takes a bath in her Jacuzzi tub. The hot water won't turn off. We need to leave for our granddaughter's graduation and can't return for three months. I turn off the hot water feed and water heater.

May 28 I call my sister to arrange to meet a plumber

June 7 Arico comes to the house and my sister is present while the plumber repairs the leaky faucet by replacing the washer assembly (or so he tells my sister). The water to the hot side is turned back on. No leaks.

September 3 we return home and all appears fine. We leave again on September 7 until my wife returns on September 23. The tub leaks at a very slow drip.

October 3 my wife leaves to meet me in Show Low. She returns home on October 9 and takes a bath. The leak intensifies. October 10 I have her turn off the water to the back of the house to stop the leak. I'll be home October 15 late and seek a solution.

October 17 I pull the hot water faucet off to find that the 'plumber' has installed only the cup shaped washer, and that is installed upside down. Normal Delta faucet installation requires a new spring inserted followed by the cup like washer over the spring. I've does this many times and with fat fingers or in the absence of a special $40 insertion tool the task is very very difficult. By installing the washer upside down without the spring the 'plumber' was able to make a quick 'repair' and buy enough time (considering that he knew we'd be out of town for months) that the bogus repair would go undiscovered. The water pressure on the upside down washer would be enough to stop a leak for a while.

October 17 - When confronted with the shoddy work officials at Arico did not deny that the repair was done incorrectly but also would not refund any cost of parts or time charged against the original bill of $185. They weren't even apologetic about the problem they caused. This will be the last time I use their services, for which I've been a faithful customer since the 1980's at both my home, my rental, and my other family members homes. NO MORE ARICO

There is something about service and your word. No matter what, in todays world we still want integrity. This is a bait and switch with this company. They quoted 400, when the requested their payme, it was 800. This is unlawful and AIRCO's staff when I phoned thought it was funny. Don't use them.

Do not AriCo plumbing Inc. They give you a quote over the phone and then after they are done with the job they give you an invoice that's twice as much as much! I was quoted $400 to install a hot water heater. They said it would be $35 to take away the old hot water heater. That was fine. After completing the installation they gave me a bill for $800. I said I would not pay that. They called the office and then offered me $600 w/in 2 minutes for the job. When I walked into the house to get my credit card, I walked back out into the garage, and they said $400 was fine. Since then I've been getting invoices for $395. I've called three times. Steve, the Service Manager told me that I would receive them until 120 days was up. After that they would send it to collection. Then it would go to small claims. Which is fine because I'm not going to fall for the ""bait and switch""!
Buyer beware!!!

I have used this company for years, yet when we had a main water pipe go bad, they wanted $10,000 for a replacement that other plumber would do for $3500. They gave no details of what they would do, just a price. This is a ripoff and irreputable. I will not use them again.

I have had good service with Arico for the past 20 years. They have installed a water heater and a faucet; removed a calcium deposit from a line under my sink; installed a PRV at my main water line and did a repair to the pipe that goes to my shower head.

They have always showed up on time and charge a fair price.

May 28th I got into contact with someone who works for arico about looking at my a/c unit. he said it was old and needed to be replaced. he said he needed 500$ cash down and 6000$ made out to him to get the unit. he wrote me an invoice for all of it. after 3 weeks of constant reschedueling for an install I said im tried of waiting and want a refund. he said the refund would take 15-30 days. so 7 weeks later still didnt have my refund. was constantly getting the run around when my money was going to be ready for me. I made 4 different phone calls to the office no one cared or did anything. currently ive hired a lawyer and filed a lawsuit against the company and the installer for a refund. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY unless you want the same thing to happen to you.

Angel from Arico just did a great job repairing our water heater and was extremely pleasant to deal with.
I'd also like to note that we have used Arico for plumbing jobs in the past and have been pleased with their promptness, courtesy, and quality of work.
