Rip Off! Never use again. $600.00 to replace two bolts to a toilet. The service guy drop the price to $500 in cash. I guess to avoid state taxation.

Having used them multiple times over the years, they're not the cheapest plumbing and hvac company, but they arrive quickly, don't try to up-sell and fix the problem properly and promptly. Being an engineer, when I have questioned the details around a component replacement, they actually explain, in verifiable detail, the what and why of their recommend course of action (meaning their people are actually trained and not just randomly swapping out logic boards and sensors, or trial & error recapping).

In my experience, in the sea of (criminally) terrible HVAC businesses in northern NJ, whose starting point is always to try selling whole new installations, Argent has proven honest and efficient.

My 92-year-old father lost heat on a very cold night. Argent Plumbing arrived the same day and told him it would cost $15,000 to install a new boiler. The serviceman left without making any attempt to restart the boiler or do any repairs. As a result, the house was unheated for 24 hours. I called another plumber who came and inspected the boiler and concluded all that was needed was a new circulator for the porch. The other two circulators which heat the main house were fine. He restarted the boiler and heat returned to the main house. A repair to the porch circulator was done the next day. Argent plumbing intentionally left the boiler off putting my father's health at risk. I can only imagine they did this in order to compel the decision to buy a new boiler. This is a fraudulent business practice on their part or at the very least unbelievably negligent. The fact that they offered to pay my plumber's bill is tantamount to an admission of guilt.

Had Argent do a small plumbing project this summer. Work was descent, had to correct a few issues, and price was on the higher end but fair.

Called to have an estimate for some HVAC work. Price seems much higher so asked for clarification (I.e. man hours, material list ect...)

Argent never replied to several emails. Irony is we spoke at length about future projects such as new tankless, adding entire HVAC zone, new bath remodel.

Ironically their crew left an expensive tool at my house and I returned it to the office on my way to work to save them the trip.

Shame how poor their customer service is for a repeat customer trying to build a longterm relationship. Do not recommend them as they do not value customers.

Argent has the worst customer service
A no heat call is not one of their priorities they will put you on a list no matter what your problem is
Even after you have spend thousands of dollars to have a new heating unit installed through them
They miss diagnosis and never take responsibility for their mistakes
And their charges for a service are insane!

So I received my response from the BBB. It's amazing to me how Argent Plumbing & Heating spun their response to accommodate them overcharging & miss diagnosing the problem with the AC. My ""plumber"" friend is actually a retired Master Plumber who installed the unit. Nothing was ""rewired or jumped "" in order to get it working. It's a shame they need to lie in order to validate their mistake.
I would never recommend or use them. I'm posting the BBB response to me that they receive from the Owner of Argent. Pretty sad they needed my 250.00 & would manipulate the real truth.

I called Argent to service my customer's commercial air conditioner, that they had installed several years ago. I was advised that I would be put on hold to let me know when my customer would have a service technician come. When the receptionist come back to me, she me advised that they would not come to service to unit and to go on the web to find a another contractor, even though they did the installation. I also had them do some other work for my customer, so we were not a new account for them. The receptionist was rude and again advised me to look for someone on the web. I would not recommend Argent Plumbing & Heating to anyone.

Had a clogged drain with bathtub full of water spewing out from kitchen sink. Called Argent and was advised of estimated ETA within an hour. Claud called within 10 minutes to confirm his arrival. Claud was extremely professional, pleasant and fixed the issue in no time. Would highly recommend Claud and Argent.

There is a separate Argent Yelp listing for what seems to be the same business (links to the same website and same area) on South street in New Providence. It seems to be the same place, but the reviews are much different.

Anyway, I called them when I had a leaky faucet. Their fee for just giving an estimate is the highest I have seen in the area, and, in my opinion, the amount the Argent plumber wanted to charge to complete what he said was going to take approximately 45 minutes was incredibly high. I actually thought he was joking when he quoted me the price. I felt immediately uncomfortable with him in my house and tried to get him to leave as soon as possible, but he of course wanted his $100 fee for the 3 minutes he spent confirming that my faucet was leaking. I ended up getting the work done for less than half the price by another licensed professional who did a great job. Please be careful. I don't know if these guys are bad at what they do (I would never hire them so I will never find out), but, they seem extraordinarily expensive.

An old house means old sewer lines and that caused us to find a backup of sewage in our utility sink in the basement. I called Argent and they were quick to respond. The guys scoped the line and found the problem. We needed to replace the line from house to curb. From start to finish, the guys were knowledgeable, hard working, and friendly. While fixing the line, they saw a leak in our main water line and worked to fix that too. Another potential disaster averted. Both inside the house and outside, the men replaced and repaired with minimal damage. And when finished, they cleaned up completely. I must really thank the folks that worked outside who were careful to replant shrubbery and rebrick the walkway. I am truly impressed with how hard they worked. Like any repair one can only hope to never have to do it again. But as to this experience, I highly recommend them.
