Kenneth C.My review pertains to the plumbing supply counter, not the showroom. As a plumbing professional, I have to say that they are a pretty good plumbing supply company, stocking a wide variety of pipe, valves, fittings and materials to deal with both new and old plumbing. Unlike some other area plumbing suppliers, Ardente has rarely run out of commonly-used supplies.
My biggest complaint is their small parking lot (I've been blocked in before), and the fact you have to literally drive around the block to get to their warehouse loading dock to pick up larger items like water heaters or toilets. Also, I don't like the brand of PVC fittings they sell (Genova); I have had problems when gluing them, as it seems like they are out of tolerance and fit too tightly over the pipe.
When I started my career, several old-timers worked the service counter. Nowadays, they have younger guys behind the counter, who provide decent service for the most part. I have had a younger guy in the warehouse give me an attitude, though, when I asked for help loading an item in my truck.
Michael M.This showroom is ""open to the public"" in concept only. If you're not bringing in a commercial job, they'll stall and flip pages until you go away. Horrible attitude, they just don't give a s**t.
The guys at the parts counter are awesome, helpful and knowledgeable so it's sad to have the showroom staff make them look bad.
G T.Awful service. Went on a weekend and they were to busy to help me. Ok I get it, first come first serve. Came back early with my wife the next weekend because it had a good selection. Service this time was worse. We were treated like we couldn't afford anything and they couldn't' bother to answer questions. I asked about a light fixture and he looked at me and said uhhh maybe $500. I asked to have the price checked and it was actually $250. Well pal that's a big difference. This place lost our business and we were ready to throw down some serious $$$ for our remodel. I'd seriously consider getting a new staff. I won't be recommending this place to anyone of my friends or family.
Desiree L.Evan is simply the best! I had a huge leak in my basement, with no water or heat in my house with 3° weather. He had someone on it in no time. Within a half hour everything was up and running and i couldn't be happier! He is the most sweetest person and will recommend his best! Thanks a bunch Evan!
Completely unprofessional and uneducated. They do not care about the customer and if you buy a product from them and something happens they will pass you on to the maker's field technician. Will never buy from here again.
Allegra L.Thank you Evan for an excellent deal on a boiler/hot water tank combo unit! Delivery next day!! Fair and honest prices. Will do business again!!
Al A.I recently ordered a part for my TOTO toilet. Telephone sale went smoothly. They will call me when the item arrives. They sent me a receipt via e-mail. Thank you for making my search for my part solvable.
Kris D.Needed a seat to match a older style toilet. They are very helpful in matching the color and looking up the make. The showroom is super nice, pretty bathroom displays brightly lit all over. Picking up the item once they located it the warehouse at the service desk/ men area/ older not updated is on the other hand not as much fun. If I had it my way I would have liked to skip the service desk area BUT if you need it they got it!!
I needed a fan/motor assembly for a Quiet-one and Beacon Morris kick space heater, no other suppliers had this and they did. They also beat Pexsupply.com by 20%. When you need that hard to find part this is the place to call first.
Marlena V.This, my friends, is totally why I should have checked my fellow Yelpers' reviews before heading out the door, for reals. As much as I hate to sound like a negative Nancy, my experience yesterday left me at a total loss for words. This is quite possibly my first review where, if given the opportunity, I would have given a ""zero"" rating in a heart beat.
My parents are in the middle of renovating their home. From the electrical wiring, plumbing and physical labor to home design and sorting out what goes where, it's 101% a family effort. 59324019 trips to Ikea later, my father was in need of important (and costly) parts for the kitchen piping. I went along for the ride since I am car-less and thus, have no life for the next several months. Once inside and at the counter we waited patiently to ask if they stocked what he needed. The older (possibly manager?) clerk was on the phone while two younger dudes were rummaging through their desks paying zippo mind to us standing in confusion. Ever so patient and assuming they were legitimately busy, we chatted about the family project in a polite effort to grab someone's attention. Nothing. Poor customer service? Perhaps even a little rude? Certainly. But here's where things turned fugly.
Not even a half a minute after we audibly (but still politely) asked for help, another gentlemen entered the store and stood behind us to form a line. One of the younger clerks then, literally, stared through us, greeted the dude and asked how he could help, leaving my father and I wide eyed, shocked and a little confused. As we approached to request a manager, an older couple wandered in & were treated to the same friendly welcome. Deciding high blood pressure and exchanging words ultimately wasn't worth it, we simply walked over to one of the younger clerks, advised since our money and unwelcomed presence obviously weren't good there, we were taking our business elsewhere and left.
Not surprisingly, not a single person made an ounce of effort to stop us, apologize or other still even acknowledge we were alive/breathing.
Folks, I can't even begin to describe how utterly unwanted, unwelcomed and awkward I felt standing by the counter watching as my father was completely mistreated. It was kinda surreal. And while it's 2010 and I really, really -really- hate to bring in the ""race card"" when I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, judging by the empty, glazed over stare they shot through my father and myself, it's gotta be said. I actually felt so uncomfortable, my hair was standing on end. No matter how poor the experience, I don't think I've ever felt so out of my skin in my entire life. Looking back, I can't figure for sure if it had more to do with the colour of our skin or just blatant, horrifying customer service but somethin' deep down tells me it was a combination of both. No thanks.
