These guys are very prompt and responsive, which I appreciate. I had them install a water softener for our house and paid them a good bit to do so. I think $500 just for the install. They were here a while, I figured they earned it. A month or so later we realize the water softener wasn't working. Called them and they promptly and politely came right back out, did some stuff but couldn't figure out the problem. They then advised that I review the owner's manual to figure it out. Thus, after paying $500 for the install, it's not working properly and they recommend I do it myself.
Prior to the water softener install, they installed a new water heater promptly and we've had no issues with it. Moral of the story: if you've got simple plumbing needs, these guys are probably just fine. If your need is less than routine, I would use someone else.
Dez T.I contacted Aquarius Plumbing and spoke with the owner, Jeff. I explained to Jeff that water was leaking from the base of the toilet and water/sewage mix was backing up in the basement bathroom. Jeff asked if we had a septic which I answered yes and then he asked the last time the tank was pumped which I advised less then 2 years ago. Jeff stated he would send someone out between 11-1 on the day we arranged.
A plumber with Aquarius arrived at 12:45 and asked to see the bathroom where the issue was. He walked downstairs and asked where the outflow pipe was. A minute later while outside looking for the pipe he was informed we had a septic which he then informed us we needed to contact Montgomery Sanitation to pump the tank. He then asked if we spoke to the call center when we called because normally when they know from the beginning a septic tank is involved they immediately refer to Montgomery Sanitation and that's when I informed him we spoke with the owner Jeff. The plumber informed us it would be $94.00 for a ""service fee"".
I'm not sure where the breakdown was with the communication but there were NO services preformed (no inspection, no diagnosis, nothing was done!) and a ten minute visit cost us $94.00, for nothing more then a referral that should of happened on the phone.
I spoke with several clients who include realtors and contractors who advised they had the same issues with this company.
We were advised if Montgomery Sanitation could not fix the problem (which they did and I would highly recommend them) that the $94.00 would be applied to the next visit. But we will not be using Aquarius Plumbing for any future plumbing issues. This is not putting your customer first, I feel we were ripped off.
Brian P.I'm not sure what Tim is talking about, but I can't say enough good things about these guys. I recently bought a 70-year-old home in downtown Blacksburg and, in February 2015, had them hook up my new washer and dryer in the basement. They were the lowest bid and did great work.
Two months later, I needed a new commode and - boom! - got the same thing: great work for the lowest bid.
In August 2015, I had my bathroom - which had original plumbing and fixtures - remodeled. Aquarius Plumbing installed a new tub, fixtures and a vanity, while a guy I hired separately from AP came in and did the tile. While Aquarius was doing my bathroom, I also had them install a outdoor spigot. Wisely, they suggested I put the the spigot away from my front door, since I have plans to eventually install a deck and the location I suggested would've been hidden by the new platform. Most plumbers don't have that kind of foresight.
Now, I'm proud to say my once lead-pipe filled home has new pipes and a sparkling bathroom thanks in large part to Aquarius. Not only do they do quality work for a reasonable price, the owner and employees are local. How cool is that?
Tim P.I can't speak for their work, however, we had them come out to give an estimate to run 23' of pipe for a gas stove (we have an existing gas line in the house). During the visit the tech asked if we'd had other quotes, not thinking, I gave him the ranges estimates we received, $350 - $1400 (the $1400 [actually $1359] also included electrical work and more replaced piping - all the way to the gas furnace, but I didn't mention that). He then called his boss to work out a price, told his boss I'd received a $1400 quote to run the pipe and said that's what they could do it for.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but if one company says they can do two times the work and run an additional electrical circuit from our breaker for $1359, then why would it cost $1400 for Aquarius to run 23' of gas pipe?
If I ever need a plumber again, I'll call everyone else first.
